The answer to that question lays in the current structure of the Islamic faith itself, and the fact that, for many centuries, Islam has been primarily sub-categorized as either Sunni or Shia or one of the many other denominations that have emerged over the years. As such, all translators have belonged to one school of thought or another which clearly comes across in the interpretation of and choice of translation for specific words or verses. "The Message" is the result of a group effort by people who do not belong to any denomination, and, for the first time in many centuries, are simply proud to call themselves Muslims as God had named centuries ago. Also, while many translators have been sincere in their rendering of the Arabic meaning of the words, they have been unable to refrain from adding comments in the form of "parenthesis" within the text of the translation or in the form of footnotes and appendices to reflect their views on certain verses or the views of the denomination they adhere to. "The Message" is unique in the fact that it uses neither footnotes nor comments letting the text speak for itself and delivering to the reader as close a rendition of the pure message of the Qur'an as physically possible. Finally, no matter how much can be said about this translation or any other, it is imperative to point out that guidance cannot come from any human being, rather, the only true knowledge and guidance can only come from the One who initiated the heavens and Earth. If his/her understanding was different than what the Qur'anic verses were stating, we kept on rewording the translation until those verses were understood properly. It was tremendous patience on part of the participants. May Allah reward them all. (2) Simplicity: In this translation Simple Language and Direct Approach is used for appealing to the common sense of scholars and common people. (3) Understandability: There are no foot notes to refer and no commentary or lengthy explanations to read. All necessary explanations have been incorporated right there in the text with italic type setting to differentiate from the translation of the meanings of Qur'anic Arabic Text. (4) Outline of Pertinent Information: Before the start of each Srah, information relating to its Period of Revelation, Major Issues, Divine Laws and Guidance has been presented as an outline. Then a summary of the preceding events has been tabulated for the reader to understand the histo! rical background to grasp the full meaning of the Divine Message. (5) Reviews, Input and Approvals: This project was started in 1991 and initial draft completed in 1994. Then the Translation was sent to different Ulema (Scholars) in Town and throughout United States for their review and input. After their reviews and input it was sent to Jme Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, Ummal Qur in Saudi Arabia and International Islamic University in Pakistan for their review, input and approval. This translation was published after their reviews and approvals.

One has to fill the swimming pool with water (i.e., increase vocabulary) and then learn to swim (i.e., to connect the words with grammatical rules).

The 4 verses that mention Muhammad by name are 3:144, 33:40, 47:2, and 48:29.Revealed: There are 5 verses in which "Allah Wahdahoo - Allah Alone" appear and 4 verses in which "Muhammad" appear - the difference is 1, Praise be to Allah.Astounding Miracle: In the 5 aforementioned verses that mention Allah Alone, the Allah letters for each verse are 23, 26, 23, 20, and 73 - the sum is perfectly 165, Subhan Allah, revealing and proving that Allah is the Absolute and that He is the only One "La Elaha Ella Allah." Alhamdo Lillah.Phenomenal Miracle: In the 4 aforementiond verses that mention Muhammad, the Allah letters for each verse are 35, 24, 26, and 80 - the sum is again 165, Subhan Allah, revealing and proving the Absoluteness of Allah who revealed the mathematically coded Quran to the prophet and messenger Muhammad. The prophet was not informed of the miracles embedded in the Quran; they were to be revealed in later generations. This has come to pass now, Glory be to Allah.
