Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Eliphas Levi (1810-1875) was the greatest innovator in the revival of Western occultism, most significantly with his great leap of imagination that linked the tarot trumps to the letters of the Hebrew alphabet. He set out this tarot theory in his book Transcendental Magic, but never revealed its magical application. This was finally made public in 1896 when Dr. Westcott--creator of the Golden Dawn--translated and printed Levi's secret manuscript. It is this rare text that we are now re-issuing. This book aligns the major arcana symbolism with a detailed description of the ritual of the sanctum regnum, or Kingdom of God.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Magical Ritual of the Sanctum Regnum is a strange mystic work created by Eliphas Levi and translated posthumously into English by W. Wynn Westcott. The work subjugates various magical principles and ideas to the tarot trumps, such as the tower, the devil, the hierophant, and such. The work mixes Rosicrucian and alchemical materials in with those of Kabbalah, and the end of the work is a lengthy section of ritual practices and prayers along similar lines.A note by Westcott at the end of the work indicates a belief that Levi essentially renounces the entire work at the end with a decidedly Catholic screed. Whether this is actually indicative of the same, or of an attempt to evade censorship, is debatable.

This book was released on 2017-10-30 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This posthumous publication is a translation by William Wynn Westcott, co-founder of the 'Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn', of an unpublished French manuscript by Lévi, then owned by the spiritualist Edward Maitland. It includes eight of the author's drawings. Each short chapter outlines the meaning of one of the twenty-two tarot trumps and is followed by a brief editor's note describing the card's iconography and summarising interpretations (sometimes deliberately misleading) given in Lévi's earlier publications. The book ends with Kabbalistic prayers and rituals, praise of Jesus Christ as the great initiate, and a surprising assertion that Christianity has superseded ancient magic, revealing the life-long tension between Catholicism and magic in Lévi's personality and thought.

Book excerpt: The twenty-two Tarot Trumps bear a relation to numbers and to letters; the true attributions are known, so far as is ascertainable, to but a few students, members of the Hermetic schools: the attributions given by Lévi in his Dogme and Rituel, by Christian, and by Papus are incorrect, presumably by design. The editor has seen a manuscript page of cypher about 150 years old which has a different attribution, and one which has been found by several occult students, well known to him, to satisfy all the conditions required by occult science.
