Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Your enemy is strong. The battle is real. Prepare for victory. Fear, discouragement, loneliness, anger, temptation. These struggles are common to every human. Yet not all circumstances or negative emotions originate within. They could be the result of a willful, coordinated assault of Satan. In When the Enemy Strikes, best-selling author Dr. Charles Stanley explores the often-overlooked reality of spiritual warfare?the tactics used by Satan to taunt, confuse, slander, and harm. Your adversary wants to crush your will, delay your promise, hinder your destiny, destroy your relationships, and lead you into sin. Dr. Stanley reveals how you should respond. The most important component of warfare, says Dr. Stanley, is the supremacy of God?both His sovereignty and His power. Practically, this means the battles you face are ultimately allowed by God to bring you to a place of greater reliance on Him. His strength crushes the enemy. This is a world of conflict between good and evil, of powers beyond the merely human. The battle is unavoidable, but take heart! God has given you the strength to stand.

Book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table

Download or read book Don t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table written by Louie Giglio and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2021-05-11 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Louie Giglio helps you find encouragement, hope, and strength in the midst of any valley as you reject the enemy voices of fear, rage, lust, insecurity, anxiety, despair, temptation, or defeat. Scripture is clear: the Enemy is a liar who will stop at nothing to tempt you into poor decisions and self-defeating mindsets, making you feel afraid, angry, anxious, or defeated. It is all too easy for Satan to weasel his way into a seat at the table intended for only you and your King. But you can fight back. Don't Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table outlines the ways to overcome those lies so you can find peace and security in any challenging circumstance or situation. With the same bold, exciting approach to Scripture as employed in Goliath Must Fall and his other previous works, pastor Louie Giglio examines Psalm 23 in fresh ways, highlighting verse 5: "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies." You can find freedom from insecurity, temptation, and defeat--if you allow Jesus, the Shepherd, to lead the battle for your mind and heart. This spiritual warfare book for those who are leery of spiritual warfare books will resonate with Louie's core Passion tribe as well as with Christians of all ages who want to live a triumphant life in God.

Book Thus Saith the Lord Declare War Against the Enemies of the Cross Attacking You and the Works of Your Hands

Download or read book Thus Saith the Lord Declare War Against the Enemies of the Cross Attacking You and the Works of Your Hands written by Apostle Sharon Loving Ruff and published by The Making of anApostle, a Christian Work LLC. This book was released on 2015-11-30 with total page 24 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Apostle Sharon Loving Ruff shares an amazing journey in her quest for a greater anointing from the Lord for spiritual warfare. After years of being used in the deliverance ministry, she encountered individuals who didn’t receive the fullness of relief they desired. Being one who had suffered torments from demonic attacks from childhood, her heart cried out for their plight. One day she decided to experiment with a warfare strategy recorded in Ezekiel 4 in the Bible. The results she sought did not manifest, so she lost interest in that approach. Years later, the Holy Spirit whispered, “Enemies are all around you.” Shortly afterwards, she received a visit from an Angel of the Lord. In a voluminous voice he said, "Declare war against the enemies of the Cross attacking you and the works of your hands." Little did she know that the manner in which she followed those instructions wasn't sufficient to protect the works of her hands or her from the spiritual enemies that the Holy Spirit had told her were surrounding her. This truth was revealed about four months later when the Angel of the Lord made his second visit. This time his visitation brought a message that was a strong rebuke. Her book chronicles her experiences, manifested changes in her life and members of her church, and ends with an amazing breakthrough. She invites others to seek the Lord for permission to use His declaration of warfare prayer delivered by the Angel of the Lord on his third visit.

Book excerpt: This first-person narrative tells the true story of Marguerite Kirchner, whose multicultural family was living in Germany when WWII began. We have remained as true as possible to Marguerites account which reveals to readers the cruelty of war and the innocence of past generations. As a child, her family lived a luxurious life. Her mother was a French aristocrat, and her father a wealthy Austrian diplomat, and so her story begins. Always defiant, Margie was forced into a labor camp for dissident teenagers. She attended the University of Berlin during the Berlin bombings, became a young teacher in the Polish war zone, was captured as a prisoner of war and escaped, and after the war, worked for the Allied Forces, helping repatriate those who had been displaced. Her story demonstrates cunning and great courage. Only after the war does she reflect on what her single-minded struggle for survival cost her, and a new journey, of a very different kind, begins.

  • Author : Vincent Evener
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press

Download or read book Enemies of the Cross written by Vincent Evener and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2021-01-05 with total page 496 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enemies of the Cross examines how suffering and truth were aligned in the divisive debates of the early Reformation. Vincent Evener explores how Martin Luther, along with his first intra-Reformation critics, offered "true" suffering as a crucible that would allow believers to distinguish the truth or falsehood of doctrine, teachers, and their own experiences. To use suffering in this way, however, reformers also needed to teach Christians to recognize false suffering and the false teachers who hid under its mantle. This book contends that these arguments, which became an enduring part of the Lutheran and radical traditions, were nourished by the reception of a daring late-medieval mystical tradition the post-Eckhartian which depicted annihilation of the self as the way to union with God. The first intra-Reformation dissenters, Andreas Bodenstein von Karlstadt and Thomas Müntzer, have frequently been depicted as champions of medieval mystical views over and against the non-mystical Luther. Evener counters this depiction by showing how Luther, Karlstadt, and Müntzer developed their shared mystical tradition in diverse directions, while remaining united in the conviction that sinful self-assertion prevented human beings from receiving truth and living in union with God. He argues that Luther, Karlstadt, and Müntzer each represented a different form of ecclesial-political dissent shaped by a mystical understanding of how Christians were united to God through the destruction of self-assertion. Enemies of the Cross draws on seldom-used sources and proposes new concepts of "revaluation" and "relocation" to describe how Protestants and radicals brought medieval mystical teachings into new frameworks that rejected spiritual hierarchy.
