Book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer Iii Technical Supplement

Download or read book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer Iii Technical Supplement written by Robert Stanton French and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 47 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This memorandum is the third in a series describing the development and use of the K-System MAC-1 Trouble-Shooting Trainer. Included here are technical data related to the design, use, and maintenance of the Trainer--technical information which would be needed by persons desiring to use this Trainer or to utilize any of its design features in the development of a training device for another system. The supplementary material in this report is organized in three sections: (1) a physical description of a Trainer; (2) training data; and (3) maintenance data. For a more general description of the functions and use of the MAC-1 Trainer, the reader is referred to the first memorandum in this series. Persons interested in how design features of the Trainer were derived from training requirements, from the nature of the system, and from the heritage of related training devices, will find these topics discussed in the second memorandum in the series. Since a general description of the Trainer and its use is available in these other reports, the material in this supplement will consist of technical data primarily.

Book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer Ii Derivation of Training Characteristics

Download or read book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer Ii Derivation of Training Characteristics written by Robert Stanton French and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The MAC-1 (Malfunction And Circuitry) Trainer is an electro-mechanical device which represents the basic operation of the K-3A Bombing-Navigational System under both normal and malfunctioning states. The Trainer was designed as a demonstration or practice device for the classroom supplementing practical training on the equipment itself. Despite its simplicity, the MAC-1 Trainer has proven to be effective in the training of data-flow knowledge, system functioning and trouble-shooting procedures. The MAC-1 Trainer possesses certain distinct advantages as a classroom trainer. Over 200 different malfunction problems can be inserted into the device, each in a few seconds. Intensive practice of trouble shooting is possible with no delays for equipment warmup or maintenance. The special limitation of the Trainer, which is at the same time its most significant design feature, is the fact that no exact or quantitative information usually appearing on dials and indicators is shown as such. Instead, all of the output information of the System is translated into binary terms such as, normal-not normal or changing-not changing, and is represented by a single Test Point Light which is either On or Off. Although clearly a limitation for certain training functions, this simplification of display information makes possible the relatively high degree of completeness in the representation of input controls and basic system functioning characteristic of this Trainer.

Book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer I Functional Description

Download or read book The K system Mac 1 Trouble shooting Trainer I Functional Description written by Robert Stanton French and published by . This book was released on 1956 with total page 9 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The K-System MAC-1 (Malfunction And Circuitry) Trouble-Shooting Trainer represents the basic operation of the K-3A Bombing-Navigational System under both normal and malfunctioning states, and yet avoids the complexities and cost of the typical realistic simulator. In this Trainer exact quantitative representation is sacrificed to make possible a relatively, simple, inexpensive device still permitting the freedom of manipulation of controls characteristic of trouble shooting the actual equipment. The approach taken in the design of this Trainer is one which fundamentally should be applicable to other armament systems or electro-mechanical systems in general.
