Book Building and Sustaining Buyer seller Relationships in Mature Industrial Markets

Download or read book Building and Sustaining Buyer seller Relationships in Mature Industrial Markets written by Das Narayandas and published by . This book was released on 2003 with total page 48 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Much of the empirical research in relationship management in industrial markets has taken a snapshot of a relationship at a given time and speculated about "how did it get here?" and "where can it go?", this despite researchers' unanimous agreement that adopting a longitudinal perspective and focusing directly on process models better answers such questions. We use a longitudinal, field investigative approach to study the evolution of three industrial buyer-seller relationships characterized by varying degrees of initial asymmetry that evolved in dramatically different ways over time. Based on our findings, we advance a set of nine propositions that elucidate five important processes that affect the initiation and subsequent evolution of industrial buyer-seller relationships in commodity markets. Moreover, we find that less powerful firms can structure and thrive in equitable relationships with more powerful partners because the effect of imbalances created by initial asymmetries can subsequently be diluted through the development of high levels of inter-organizational commitment and inter-personal trust across the dyad.

Book Dependence in Buyer Supplier Relationships

Download or read book Dependence in Buyer Supplier Relationships written by Tobias Mandt and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-03-01 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Organizations frequently rely on the support of external parties to access necessary resources. In many cases, the resulting buyer-supplier relationships last for decades; some might even become indispensable for one or both parties in achieving its desired business goals. These dependencies between organizations are ubiquitous. This book focuses on such instances, discussing them in a cumulative manner: It begins with an introduction of previous research on the issue, before empirically explaining the emergence of dependencies, their different forms of existence and management approaches as well as its development over time. This book is of special interest for scholars focusing on dyadic partnerships within the domains of industrial marketing, supply chain management or strategic purchasing. Practitioners involved in managing long term buyer-supplier relationships in goods- as well as service-oriented industries might find it insightful as well.

Book Industrial Buyer Supplier Relationship

Download or read book Industrial Buyer Supplier Relationship written by M. Sadiq Sohail and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 20 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This paper examines buyer-seller relationships in the industrial environment of Saudi Arabia. A model is developed, which focuses on the relationship between long-term relationship, dependence and trust; the antecedents of trust and dependence. Empirical research is used to test the hypotheses developed. Results based on a survey of purchasing managers from small to medium-sized firms in Saudi Arabia reveal that trust and dependence of Saudi buyers is positively related to sellers' long-term relationship. The findings of this study have implications on the manner in which critical function as procurement can be better performed in the Saudi market.

Book The Effects of Situational and Dispositional Motivation on the Initiation of Cooperative Tactics in Buyer seller Relationships

Download or read book The Effects of Situational and Dispositional Motivation on the Initiation of Cooperative Tactics in Buyer seller Relationships written by Ellen Bolman Pullins and published by . This book was released on 1996 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Because relationship marketing is a pervasive concept in the marketing literature, there is a need to systematically evaluate individual differences in who can best initiate cooperative relationships, as well as the situational factors that increase the likelihood of their initiation. This research takes the perspective of relationship initiation as a negotiation in which integrative (win-win) tactics increase the likelihood of continued cooperation. The focus is on how negotiating may result in the transition from an exploration phase in relationship development to an expansion phase. Ultimately, the goal is to understand how individual differences and situational characteristics interact to determine the use of integrative tactics, higher relationship satisfaction and joint profits.

Book Mutual Cooperative and Employee Owned Businesses in the Asia Pacific

Download or read book Mutual Cooperative and Employee Owned Businesses in the Asia Pacific written by Chris Rowley and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-10-02 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The 25 years leading up to the international financial crisis have been depicted as ‘capitalism unleashed’, containing deregulation, privatisation, demutualisation and financialisation. Yet remarkably, given this economic and political context, co-operatives and mutuals appear to have been gaining ground in many countries, albeit modestly, even before the international financial crisis and the resulting global recession, from which the global economy is still only slowly recovering. The 2007-2008 international financial crisis called into question how appropriate the shareholder-owned model is, certainly if it is allowed to dominate the financial services sector. However the International Co-operative Alliance is determined to make the mutual and co-operative sector of the economy a dynamic, sustainable and increasingly important sector of the global economy. This book looks at the contribution of co-operative, mutual and employee-owned firms to the Asia Pacific economy - both currently and prospectively – and the challenges the standard ‘Western’ model faces regarding employment and output. It also looks at the role of Governments, the nature of co-operatives in China and the role of the state, and the future prospects for cross-border growth of co-operative and mutual business within Asia Pacific, and more widely. This book was originally published as a Special Issue of Asia Pacific Business Review.
