This book was released on 2018-10-05 with total page 298 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Homoeopathic Recorder, 1889, Vol. 4: Bi-Monthly The recorder, with this issue, enters upon the fourth year of its existence. Opening, as it did, a new field in our literature, it has steadily advanced in favor, until it now reaches a far greater number of homoeopathic physicians than any other journal in our school of prae tice. This should be an inducement to those physicians who desire that their articles shall reach the greatest number of readers, to lend us their aid by contributions. Articles upon materia medica, and those report ing clinical cases, are particularly desired, especially such as bring before our readers practical illustrations of the utility of our least established remedies. We have many valuable drugs that are little known in practice, many physicians using them and gaining fine results, do not enlighten their brethren through the mediumship of the medical press. It is to those particularly that we appeal. Our materia medica is volu minous, it is true, but it is also extremely valuable. Let us, therefore, bend our eti'orts toward its development rather than its enlargement. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Homoeopathic Recorder, 1920, Vol. 35 Furthermore, there may be individuals possessing a knowl edge of truths, the substance of which has not, as yet, been demonstrated, -as was the case with John Kepler, who possessed a knowledge of the laws governing the planetary movements, years before he proved it mathematically; the same was no less true of Sir Isaac Newton and the laws of gravitation. The lack of proof in the existence of a certain truth does not prove its non-existence. There must be positive proof that it is an untruth; in other words, proof by elimination. This method of elimination is accepted as the ideal plan to follow, in the solution of problems generally and of medical ones in particular. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Homoeopathic Recorder, 1912, Vol. 27 Is not that a startling, almost stunning, conclusion to go forth from a great medical centre? Sir Henry's allusion to Genesis suggests that if God' breathed into man the breath of life, He must continue to do so just as the sun continually makes natural life possible on this globe; that with the breath of life mankind (adam) became living creatures, with freedom to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil - and take the consequences. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Homoeopathic Recorder, 1914, Vol. 29 When the judge in the celebrated case of Bardell vs. Pickwick asked Sam Weller how he spelt his name his father, Tony Weller, shouted from the gallery, Spell it vith a 'v, ' Sammy; spell it vith a 'v!' So the recorder man, who has something to do with seeing books through the wilds and wiles of the print shop, tells the authors, if asked, Spell 'em with Caps! Though, in deed, ih the matter of Caps, I talies, hyphens, dropping or adding final e's and all that sort of thing, he is liberality itself with Writers and authors - for they are the sires of their manuscript. Our idea is that every homoeopathic remedy named in a book or paper should begin with a Capital letter and be set in Italics. This book was released on 2018-10-13 with total page 588 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Homoeopathic Recorder, 1905, Vol. 20: Monthly Drosera has prevented whooping cough we could enlarge this list, but think it sufficient to prove that the belief in prophylactic agents against several, especially contagious diseases, is adopted by the highest authorities in Homoeopathy with Hahnemann at their head. In our text-books we are told that certain diseases, pneumonia, typhoid fever, etc., run a certain course, in a definite period of time, has so manv stages. Yet, by proper treatment, the disease can be aborted at any of its stages. This surely is another admission of the prophylactic treatment. If the entire disease was not prevented, part of it can be, and this is prophylaxis all the same. Reason confirms the possibility of preventing diseases by the administration of medicines. Just as a chemical or a gas, that will destroy a flower when in bloom, will destroy that same flower when still concealed in its bud even so a medicine capable of killing, making disappear, in other words, caring a certain set of symptoms, or certain conditions which we call dis ease, will surely kill, that is, cure their symptoms when they exist in the system, but have not appeared outside.
