Book Reflection on Civilization

Download or read book Reflection on Civilization written by Denny JA and published by Cerah Budaya Indonesia. This book was released on 2020-11-01 with total page 170 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Civilization has many faces. One of its looks is the presence of Sophia in our midst. It is a smart robot armed with artificial intelligence. Its job is to help humans with the technological sophistication they have. Furthermore, civilization does not only present Sophia. There is another thing that civilization shows: Syria. In Syria, there is an endless civil war that has cost thousands of lives. Of course, there-is a lot more to civilization. During the last 17 Years (2002-2019), I've crossed five continents from Australia to North Korea, from Beijing to Prague, then from Russia to Denmark. I witnessed various civilizations ranging from the most ancient civilizations in Egypt to the most advanced civilizations in the United States, France, Norway, and Great Britain, starting from Mecca to Venice. So many things that I saw. So many encounters I had with the geniuses and the dead giants. So deep and high are the achievements of art, economics, science, and human's spirituality that I have observed. There is also a great example the warriors advised me through their sacrifices. Now, I have put those entire encounters in this little book. Civilizations are indeed very varied. There's Sophia on the left, and, there's Syria On the right. Hopefully, Indonesia will not choose the wrong choice.

Book excerpt: In Tick Tock To Midnight the author’s first novel, his intuition visioned a dark cloud rising over democratic geopolitical influence around the globe. In contrast, here in Reflection: Into The Abyss – Democracy or Autocracy? recalibrates towards various key world leaders. These suspects work for the Lawless One that is always in the middle of politics and religion. Strawmen that function in key positions on behalf of The Program. All things considered The Club needed a cheerleader for a new type of patriotism. Someone with a big ego that tilted towards psychotic irrational behavior. On cue without skipping a beat even after a deadly bout by a superbug – COVID-19. He knew the Doomsday Clock was about to make its last tick, so it was all or nothing. And to realize The Club’s final goal - a 7-Year Peace Agreement and Third Temple. The Donald’s cultural movement had to execute a hail-Mary towards the United States Capital. That’s when the Don became the Houdini of the Big Lie resorting to all tricks available to maintain power and become the nation’s first autocrat – but failed. The Club is still active - a sinister plan nonetheless, like a double-barrel shotgun, loaded with a two-prong attack. The Club cleverly orchestrated a global pandemic under the disguise of a major trade war – the CCP, Chinese Communist Party and the Republican Party nearly executed a perfect coup d'état of global democracy. Even so, China still has plans under the New Silk Road development project.

Book excerpt: Being in Big Country had its fair share of highs and lows. To lose its main character was a desperately upsetting situation to deal with. This is the story about how, my original colleagues, manager and I, tried dealing with this situation, and the unfortunate demise of it from my point of view. Written as an honest reflection, complete with some memory anecdotes, I have, after years of not commenting about this time period, thought it time I did.

Book The Course Reflection Project

Download or read book The Course Reflection Project written by Nicole Schonemann and published by IAP. This book was released on 2015-05-01 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Service-learning is entering a post-initiatory phase. At tertiary institutions of all types and sizes, service-learning programs are common and service-learning requirements for graduation are growing in popularity. Taken together -- alongside continued faculty interest in effective teaching -- these factors have raised the visibility and popularity of service-learning. Now the greater need in service-learning is not to prove the need for, or efficacy of, service-learning, but to turn the focus squarely back on practice. Following established best practice is not enough; instructors also need to reflect on how this fits within the specific context and application of each unique course and service-learning partnership. While there are many excellent resources that detail best practice and showcase exemplary service-learning courses, faculty reflection and course revision often goes unmentioned. In response to the lack of attention on the role of reflection and course revision, we convened groups of faculty from a variety of disciplines to reflect deeply on their courses, paying specific attention to obstacles and challenges. These conversations were converted to articles for this edited collection, each chapter representing the process of reflection and revision and serving as a guide to develop effective practice in varied curricular contexts. This text contributes to the body of literature on service-learning in a unique and practical manner. Faculty teaching or interested in teaching service-learning classes would benefit from this text as well as university administrators and community service directors involved in service-learning at a programmatic and institutional level. This book should be marketed to faculty teaching disciplinary service-learning classes and service-learning pedagogy classes and administrative offices involved in service-learning. This could be a supplementary text for graduate-level pedagogy courses. Higher education institutional libraries would benefit from this text, as well as the national and state campus compact offices.

Book Aids to Reflection And the Confessions of an Inquiring Spirit

Download or read book Aids to Reflection And the Confessions of an Inquiring Spirit written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and published by GEORGE BELL AND SONS. This book was released on 2014 with total page 369 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aids to Reflection : And the Confessions of an Inquiring Spirit If then it be our prerogative, as rational beings, and our duty as Christians, to think, as well as to act, rationally,—to see that our convictions of truth rest on the grounds of right reason; and if it be one of the clearest dictates of reason, that we should endeavour to shun, and on discovery should reject, whatever is contradictory to the universal laws of thought, or to doctrines already established, I know not by what means we are to avoid the application of philosophy, at least to some extent, in the study of theology. For to determine what are the grounds of right reason, what are those ultimate truths, and those universal laws of thought, which we cannot rationally contradict, and by reflection to compare with these whatever is proposed for our belief, is in fact to philosophize; and whoever does this to a greater or less extent, is so far a philosopher in the best and highest sense of the word. To this extent we are bound to philosophize in theology, as well as in every other science. For what is not rational in theology, is, of course, irrational, and cannot be of the household of faith; and to determine whether it be rational in the sense already explained or not, is the province of philosophy. It is in this sense that the Work before us is to be considered a philosophical work, namely, that it proves the doctrines of the Christian Faith to be rational, and exhibits philosophical grounds for the possibility of a truly spiritual religion. The reality of those experiences, or states of being, which constitute experimental or spiritual religion, rests on other grounds. It is incumbent on the philosopher to free them from the contradictions of reason, and nothing more; and who will deny, that to do this is a purpose worthy of the ablest philosopher and the most devoted Christian? Is it not desirable to convince all men that the doctrines, which we affirm to be revealed in the Gospel, are not contradictory to the requirements of reason and conscience? Is it not, on the other hand, vastly important to the cause of religious truth, and even to the practical influence of religion on our own minds, and the minds of the community at large, that we should attain and exhibit views of philosophy and doctrines in metaphysics, which are at least compatible with, if they do not specially favour, those views of religion, which, on other grounds, we find it our duty to believe and maintain? For, I beg it may be observed, as a point of great moment, that it is not the method of the genuine philosopher to separate his philosophy and religion, and adopting his principles independently in each, to leave them to be reconciled or not, as the case may be. He has, and can have, rationally but one system, in which his philosophy becomes religious, and his religion philosophical. Nor am I disposed in compliance with public opinion to limit the application of this remark, as is usually done, to the mere external evidences of revelation. The philosophy which we adopt will and must influence not only our decision of the question, whether a book be of divine authority, but our views also of its meaning.

Book Church A Reflection of the Triune God

Download or read book Church A Reflection of the Triune God written by Patrick Akponevwe Otor M. S. P. and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-12 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: InChurch: A Reflection of the Triune God, Father Patrick Akponevwe Otor, MSP offers a new way of looking at the Church. He sees the nature and mission of the Church as an offshoot of the communion and love that binds together the persons of the Trinity. He shows how the three-tiered leadership structure of the Church mirrors the persons of the Trinity. Father Otor took time to explore and expand the term mission as it is understood in today's Church to include evangelization, inculturation, struggle for justice and liberation, ecumenism, inter-religious dialogue, protecting the earth, missio Dei, and many more. The book illustrates the person and roles of the pastor or pastoral leader both within the church and in the world. It will be a valuable resource for both teachers and students of theology, pastors, priests, pastoral leaders, missionaries, and ordinary Christians who are interested in learning more about their church and faith. Church: A Reflection of the Triune God, will inform, inspire, and challenge anyone and everyone who reads it.
