Book The Gospel of the Kingdom The Life of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God A Dispensational Commentary Hardcover

Download or read book The Gospel of the Kingdom The Life of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God A Dispensational Commentary Hardcover written by Philip Mauro and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2018-07-25 with total page 110 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this insightful book, Philip Mauro offers commentary to demonstrate how Jesus, and the Kingdom of God is alive and vibrant all around us. In this thorough refutation of the dispensation movement, Mauro demonstrates how the dispensationalist traditions of the past are simply untrue. He examines each of the seven principles, and sets them against the words of the Holy Scripture, demonstrating how each is inconsistent with what is taught in the Bible. Mauro doggedly cites the Bible throughout this text, explaining the deeper passages with the clarity only a gifted and studied preacher acquires. His firm belief is that the truest Christianity - whereby believers gain closeness of God and His Kingdom - is not to be found in the tenets of dispensationalism, but the original Holy Bible. Although composed in the 1920s, Mauro's book shines with clarity and retains its relevance to this day.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years the theme of the kingdom of God has come to the forefront in the preaching, teaching, and popular writing of Christians of all theological persuasions. Any attempt to gain clarity on the biblical meaning of the phrase the "kingdom of God" must take the teaching of Jesus as its major point of reference; for the prominence of kingdom terminology today is directly attributable to the great frequency with which he appealed in his teaching to the notion of God's kingdom. In this little book, the author sets Jesus' proclamation of the kingdom of God against its Jewish background and discusses some of the characteristic emphases that appear in Jesus' message. He then identifies three broad ways in which God's kingdom operated in Jesus' ministry, which he suggests provide, at least in broad outline, an agenda for the Church today as it strives to bear witness to the "gospel of the kingdom" entrusted to it by its Lord.

Book The King of the Kingdom of Heaven

Download or read book The King of the Kingdom of Heaven written by Thomas O. Figart and published by . This book was released on 2016-05-19 with total page 610 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gospel of Matthew presents the Lord Jesus Christ as the long-prophesied King of God's promised kingdom. THE KING OF THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN is a verse-by-verse commentary of Matthew's Gospel, written from a dispensational, premillennial perspective that is essential to correctly understand God's prophetic kingdom program. This thorough commentary traces the theme of Christ's kingship from His royal virgin birth, through His authoritative teaching and sign miracles, to His sacrificial death, bodily resurrection, and commission to His disciples. The author holds the text of Matthew's Gospel in highest regard as the inspired Word of God. He balances practical application with scholarly attention to the details of historical background, grammar, and word meaning. Readers of this commentary will gain greater insight into the earthly life, ministry, and mission of the King and His coming kingdom. Dr. Thomas O. Figart served for thirty-eight years on the faculty of Lancaster Bible College in various roles, including Distinguished Professor, Chair of the Biblical Division, Academic Dean, and Interim President. He currently resides in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he continues to teach the Word of God. An undergraduate of Johns Hopkins University (B.S.), Figart also holds a Th.M. from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Th.D. from Grace Theological Seminary. He is also the author of MEANINGFUL MEDITATIONS: A WORD STUDY OF PSALM 119.

But what does this actually entail, and what difference does it make? In his characteristically provocative and daring way, Christoph Blumhardt articulates a vision of God's kingdom that turns much of our understanding of modern Christianity upside-down. In the present volume, available in English for the first time, Blumhardt leads readers to look at the gospel anew, challenging us to follow Jesus in a way that makes God's reign a reality, here and now. Bypassing vague notions of spirituality, as well as transcending simplistic approaches to faith, Blumhardt inspires us to actually live under the rule and reign of God.

Book Understanding the Kingdom of God Concepts and Precepts

Download or read book Understanding the Kingdom of God Concepts and Precepts written by David O. Ogaga and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2016-02-25 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What was Jesus main passion? What occupied the centre of his message? What did he really teach and preach? There was nothing more central, passion-driving, and life-consuming for Jesus than the message of the kingdom. It must be noted that things like healing and the casting out of demons were all the integral part of the message of the kingdom. Jesus never classified them as a ministry of their own. The Lords pattern in ministry reveals this: And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people (Matt. 4:23). Jesus was teaching the message of the kingdom, declaring I am a king whose kingdom does not take its root from the social, economic, and the political structure of this world. In response to the question as to whether Jesus is a king, he admitted so by saying, To this end was I born. In other words, the only major reason why I am born is to be a king. The wise men from the East did not come looking for a child but for a king that was born. The famous prayer starts with Thy kingdom comethe kingdom of God can as well be described as that moral and spiritual kingdom which the God of grace is setting up in this fallen world, whose subjects consist of as many as have been brought into hearty subjection to his gracious authority, and of which his Son Jesus is the glorious head. This book seeks to explain, explore, and provide insight into the present spiritual reality of the kingdom of God.

Book excerpt: Both the Old and New Testaments describe the glory, majesty and sovereignty of God and His kingdom. What emerges out of all of these Scriptures is a picture of the kingdom that is eternal and universal. The Gospel writers made it clear that Jesus began His public ministry with the pronouncement that God's kingdom was "at hand." As a matter of fact, a careful reading of each of the gospels will reveal that much of Jesus' teaching was focused upon this idea of the present reality of the kingdom of God. The Gospels mention the kingdom of heaven or the kingdom of God some eighty-five times, and almost every time the terms are used, they are direct or indirect quotes from Jesus. Without question, the kingdom had a significant role in Jesus' teachings. Therefore, it is essential for all believers to know and understand these teachings to fully comprehend the reality and mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The book of Revelation states that in the end, God will crush every kingdom that stands in opposition to His kingdom. Jesus confirmed this understanding of the kingdom of God; and at the same time added new depth and dimension to our understanding of the kingdom as being present in the midst of His people. "This Gospel of the Kingdom" book and Study Guide have been used by hundreds of pastors, ministry leaders, and Bible students to help them grasp the foundational teachings of Jesus Christ on the kingdom of heaven presented in His sermons and parables.
