Book Russian Hybrid Warfare

Download or read book Russian Hybrid Warfare written by Ofer Fridman and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-08-01 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the last decade, 'Hybrid Warfare' has become a novel yet controversial term in academic, political and professional military lexicons, intended to suggest some sort of mix between different military and non-military means and methods of confrontation. Enthusiastic discussion of the notion has been undermined by conceptual vagueness and political manipulation, particularly since the onset of the Ukrainian Crisis in early 2014, as ideas about Hybrid Warfare engulf Russia and the West, especially in the media. Western defense and political specialists analyzing Russian responses to the crisis have been quick to confirm that Hybrid Warfare is the Kremlin's main strategy in the twenty-first century. But many respected Russian strategists and political observers contend that it is the West that has been waging Hybrid War, Gibridnaya Voyna, since the end of the Cold War. In this highly topical book, Ofer Fridman offers a clear delineation of the conceptual debates about Hybrid Warfare. What leads Russian experts to say that the West is conducting a Gibridnaya Voyna against Russia, and what do they mean by it? Why do Western observers claim that the Kremlin engages in Hybrid Warfare? And, beyond terminology, is this something genuinely new?

Download or read book Navigating the Fourth Dimension written by Linda Stein-Luthke and published by eBookIt.com. This book was released on 2013-02 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the back cover of the book... "For thousands of years, human consciousness has been mired in the muck of fear, confusion, and suffering. However, the patterns of the past no longer apply. At last, Mother Earth and all who reside upon her have set out on an unprecedented trajectory toward awakening. Each one of us can now choose to live in a new paradigm - the fourth dimension. We define the fourth dimension as a higher-vibrational state of being that is characterized by trust, empowerment, abundance, peace, balance, and harmony. It is based on the realization that we are beings of Light who carry formidable power as co-creators of our universe. Living in the fourth dimension requires a conscious shift from relying on the fear-based ego mind to trusting the heart-centered guidance of our Higher Selves. The Ascended Masters discuss how to let go of our history, how to heal anger, fear and pain, and how to develop a personal knowing of our Light. You, too, can take the next step toward creating 'Heaven on Earth.' This book tells you how." In addition to a channeled discourse from the Ascended Masters St. Germain and El Morya Khan this book contains reprints of the first ten issues of the Ascended Masters Newsletter published by the authors. Book Fourth Dimension

Download or read book Fourth Dimension written by Eric Walters and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2018-02-06 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a world with no power, chaos soon descends. A powerful look at the disintegration of society in the wake of a massive and mysterious outage that has knocked out all modern amenities. Fifteen-year-old Emma has moved house with her ex-Marine mother and younger brother. It's a brand-new condo building, which explains the semi-regular power outages, as workers complete the units around them. So Emma isn't particularly concerned when the latest blackout hits just as they are preparing to leave town on a long weekend camping trip. But then the car won't start, and their cellphones appear dead -- and all the cars outside their building seem to be stalled in a long traffic jam ... In the midst of what appears to be a massive power outage, with their camping gear packed and ready, Emma and her family canoe over to the islands, just offshore, to wait it out. But while they land on an isolated island, with a relatively hidden site, they are far from safe, as people become increasingly desperate to find food and shelter. And as the days pass, and the power remains out, the threat of violence becomes all too real.

Book Technology in Warefare

Download or read book Technology in Warefare written by Abdul Karim Baram and published by Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research. This book was released on 2008-09-25 with total page 86 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, through World Wars I and II and up to the present day, the field of electronic warfare has developed at a truly astonishing speed. The early use of radio to organize and coordinate basic naval actions over 100 years ago has evolved into today’s staggeringly complex Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I) networks that enable field commanders to coordinate massive, multi-faceted military engagements from a single point of command. Unlike the trenches of the early 20th century, the front-lines of modern wars are often difficult to define unless viewed through the prism of the electronic systems that control troops, locate and identify targets, aim long-range missiles, or coordinate air strikes. The electronic warfare component of modern battle is now so vital to the overall concept of warfare that a large proportion of hostile activity is conducted in the invisible world of “battlespace,” separate although crucial to that of the physical theater of operations. In this other realm, parallel wars are waged and unseen conflicts for control and exploitation of the electromagnetic spectrum ensue. Technology in Warfare charts the development of a field which continues to evolve, often in unexpected directions, with electronic warfare devices constantly advancing to meet the latest threats and challenges in a seemingly endless cycle of counter-measures and counter-counter-measures. From the successes of Winston Churchill’s “Wizard War” to the crushing defeat of Saddam Hussein’s forces in the 1990–91 Gulf War, this book examines electronic warfare’s great influence on the outcomes of modern conflicts, and attempts to provide insight on the future development of a field which – although rarely credited as such – represents one of the most vitally important aspects of warfare over the last century. As Sergei Gorshkov, former Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union, once remarked, “the next war will be won by the side that best exploits the electromagnetic spectrum,” a statement that is arguably even more relevant today.
