Download or read book Environmental Project Management written by Cristina Cosma and published by Momentum Press. This book was released on 2018-10-03 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes the various aspects and considerations required in effective project management and the tools that can be used by a nonprofessional project manager to appropriately evaluate how well the professional is doing or effectively manage smaller projects without the need for a professional project manager. Project management is an evolving profession. Originally considered part and parcel of the design function, the practice of project management has evolved into a separate classification of professional practice. Professional project managers of today use sophisticated computer programs to achieve in seconds what took days to accomplish and evaluate in the past. Cost estimating and project scheduling have become key elements in assuring on-budget and on-time delivery of final projects. Key to those is how well the project manager addresses environmental issues that arise. Those issues need to be considered from the planning stages of a project to the end-of-life stages of the project and the disposal of the remnants of the project decades in the future.

Download or read book Biology of the Springtails written by Stephen P. Hopkin and published by OUP Oxford. This book was released on 1997-02-27 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Springtails are the most numerous and wide-spread insects in terrestrial ecosystems. They are important ecotoxicological test organisms and have been used extensively to indicate the effects of environmental pollutants and different agricultural regimes on biodiversity in soils. This comprehensive work by the co-author of The biology of millipedes is the only single-volume review of the biology of springtails in the English language to appear this century. The book covers classification, behaviour, physiology, evolution, ecology, and ecotoxicology. An extensive reference section with more than 2500 entries is included together with a complete list of all Collembola genera, a list of studies on the effects of chemicals on springtails, and reference to species checklists for most countries of the world.
Download or read book Principles and Applications of Quantum Chemistry written by V.P. Gupta and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2015-10-15 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Principles and Applications of Quantum Chemistry offers clear and simple coverage based on the author's extensive teaching at advanced universities around the globe. Where needed, derivations are detailed in an easy-to-follow manner so that you will understand the physical and mathematical aspects of quantum chemistry and molecular electronic structure. Building on this foundation, this book then explores applications, using illustrative examples to demonstrate the use of quantum chemical tools in research problems. Each chapter also uses innovative problems and bibliographic references to guide you, and throughout the book chapters cover important advances in the field including: Density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT), characterization of chemical reactions, prediction of molecular geometry, molecular electrostatic potential, and quantum theory of atoms in molecules. - Simplified mathematical content and derivations for reader understanding - Useful overview of advances in the field such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Time-Dependent DFT (TD-DFT) - Accessible level for students and researchers interested in the use of quantum chemistry tools
Download or read book Papers on Group Theory and Topology written by Max Dehn and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 404 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The work of Max Dehn (1878-1952) has been quietly influential in mathematics since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1900 he became the first to solve one of the famous Hilbert problems (the third, on the decomposition of polyhedra), in 1907 he collaborated with Heegaard to produce the first survey of topology, and in 1910 he began publishing his own investigations in topology and combinatorial group theory. His influence is apparent in the terms Dehn's algorithm, Dehn's lemma and Dehn surgery (and Dehnsche Gruppenbilder, generally known in English as Cayley diagrams), but direct access to his work has been difficult. No edition of his works has been produced, and some of his most important results were never published, at least not by him. The present volume is a modest attempt to bring Dehn's work to a wider audience, particularly topologists and group theorists curious about the origins of their subject and interested in mining the sources for new ideas. It consists of English translations of eight works : five of Dehn's major papers in topology and combinatorial group theory, and three unpublished works which illuminate the published papers and contain some results not available elsewhere. In addition, I have written a short introduction to each work, summarising its contents and trying to establish its place among related works of Dehn and others, and I have added an appendix on the Dehn-Nielsen theorem (often known simply as Nielsen's theorem) .

Download or read book Plasticity Theory written by Jacob Lubliner and published by Courier Corporation. This book was released on 2013-04-22 with total page 548 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of Plasticity Theory is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the contemporary state of knowledge in basic plasticity theory and to its applications. It treats several areas not commonly found between the covers of a single book: the physics of plasticity, constitutive theory, dynamic plasticity, large-deformation plasticity, and numerical methods, in addition to a representative survey of problems treated by classical methods, such as elastic-plastic problems, plane plastic flow, and limit analysis; the problem discussed come from areas of interest to mechanical, structural, and geotechnical engineers, metallurgists and others. The necessary mathematics and basic mechanics and thermodynamics are covered in an introductory chapter, making the book a self-contained text suitable for advanced undergraduates and graduate students, as well as a reference for practitioners of solid mechanics.
