Book excerpt: "And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the LORD God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over" (II Kings 2:14 KJV).Where Will the Mantle Fall? A Biblical and Legal Guide to Succession Planning dives into the scriptural and legal aspects of succession planning: the person, the process, and the people. Topics include discussions of both successful and unsuccessful leadership transitions in the bible, characteristics of successors, common myths about succession planning, and issues with nepotism. The book also discusses legal aspects of succession planning such as church bylaws, estate planning, preparation for retirement, disability, and ultimately the death of the leader. If you care about the future of your organization after your retirement, disability, or death; succession planning is a must and this book is a must read on the topic. One day the mantle will fall, the question is where. Will the mantle fall to an Elisha who will double your level of success or will the mantle fall to a Manasseh who will tear down the kingdom and everything you have established? Bishop T. Travell Travis, Esq. is the founding pastor of City of Refuge Way of the Cross Church in Richmond, Virginia. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and Howard University School of Law. Bishop Travis is licensed attorney and is a college professor at Hampton University, teaching courses in entrepreneurship and business law. Bishop Travis is also the author of Don't Eat the Baby: The Characteristics of a Cannibalistic Church. He is married to the former Sherina Mason of Philadelphia and resides in Richmond, Virginia with his wife and three daughters: Deonna, Janiyah, and Amiyah.

Book excerpt: An elemental witch and her shieldmaiden navigate a dangerous world of forgotten myth and deep magic in the second volume of New York Times bestselling author Lilith Saintcrow’s sweeping Norse-inspired epic fantasy series. Solveig and her shieldmaid have finally reached the fabled Elder sanctuary of Waterstone—a city of healing, restful beauty hidden from the Enemy’s gaze. Yet whispers race through the palace halls, and those they have come to tentatively trust have hidden intentions. For not only is the city a refuge for an elementalist, her protector, and a mortal prince, it also holds a great weapon, one that only Solveig’s kind may wield. Yet Sol’s faith in her own magic is perilously fractured. She can rely only her wits and skills of negotiation to be heard, or she will become a pawn in a dark game played by Elder and Enemy alike. The lord of the Black Land is mighty; treachery slithers amid Waterstone’s many wonders, and time is growing short. Before the darkness finds a way in, Sol must decide who to trust, where to turn for aid, and if she will take up a power she cannot hope to control. Even the right choice may doom not just the home she has left behind, but the entire world… Black Land's Bane A Flame in the North

Hailed by Casey Stengel as the next Ruth and successor to DiMaggio, Mantle would become the first true sports icon of the television age. In Mickey Mantle: America's Prodigal Son, former Sports Illustrated writer Tony Castro recounts a story of fathers and sons, rebels and heroes, and a youth's rite of passage. He interviewed over 250 of Mantle's friends, teammates, lovers, acquaintances, and drinking partners, producing an explosive biography of one of the world's most fascinating sports heroes and a telling look at the American society of his time.

Book The Earth s Lower Mantle

Download or read book The Earth s Lower Mantle written by Felix V. Kaminsky and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-22 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents the first overview of the composition and structure of the Earth’s lower mantle. The first part focuses on the study of lower-mantle minerals, identified as inclusions in diamonds from different regions of the world. Three associations are established among the lower-mantle minerals: ultramafic, mafic, and carbonatic. The carbonatic association is of particular interest because it characterizes the media of natural diamond formation. In turn, the second part analyzes the structure of the lower mantle, revealing its heterogeneous composition. It is based on the results of experiments demonstrating phase transitions in lower-mantle minerals, and on seismological data. Deep-seated earthquakes point to the presence within the lower mantle of numerous seismic boundaries caused by mineral structure transitions. In closing, the last part of the book compares observed data with experimental data, highlighting several discrepancies that indicate Earth may have a more complex planetary history than previously assumed, and examining its primarily non-chondritic composition.
