This is life's greatest adventure; it is thoroughly described in the world's wisdom traditions. *Mystic Journey* uses a multi-faith approach to reveal the path of the soul; this not a solitary quest but rather a superhighway meant for everyone. As we explore the deeper story of our soul, we also discover that we are living a lifelong process of soul-making, leading us ultimately to personal and collective transformation. Getting to the heart of your soul's story is soul-making. *Mystic Journey* guides readers to: Use their life stories to help solidify their identities, Live with an eternal perspective in mind, and Reclaim their common spiritual heritage. This is a rich read." -Gregg Levoy, author of *Callings: Finding and Following an Authentic Life*

Book The Seven Stages of an Enlightened Teacher

Download or read book The Seven Stages of an Enlightened Teacher written by Christine Jax and published by R&L Education. This book was released on 2011-07-16 with total page 144 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Seven Stages of an Enlightened Teacher, Dr. Christine Jax presents a path to great teaching that shows how and why teaching is 'a calling' in the true sense of the words. The book is grounded in the theory that the education of another person is a spiritual endeavor that improves as the inner life of the teacher improves. While avoiding the perils of dogma, doctrine, and politics, Jax has found a way for teachers to understand the role of God and spirituality in the classroom. She does this by focusing on the teacher's strengths and commitment rather than on the student or the subject matter content. Through inspirational stories, concrete instructional strategies, and spiritual practices, this book helps teachers go through stages of enlightenment in order to become energized, fulfilled, and successful at increasing student growth and learning. The Seven Stages of an Enlightened Teacher demonstrates how the individual teacher's gifts and beliefs are the primary elements of great teaching.

We Are One: Using Intuition to Awaken to Truth appeals to all people who have found that the achievement of health, romance and success are not enough to inspire meaning in their lives, and to health practitioners who now have very little time to know their patients. The book's simple four-step template can be used as effortlessly for making a decision as for experiencing God. The reader will learn how to find their own truth within themselves, check the veracity other people's information, heal themselves, and remove any blocks to living a fully authentic and spiritual life. Written by Helen D. Vandeman, M.Ed., a dynamic speaker who has presented at conferences in the United States and abroad, We Are One combines the wisdom of mystics with the evidence of scientists to give intuition its rightful place in our lives.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The perfect gift for seekers, the curious, and the spiritually hungry, The Little Book of Prayers now has a stunning new cover and a more prayer book–like format. Gathered from holy books and prayer books, from songs and spirituals, spoken traditions and poets, it is an unexpectedly approachable collection of common and uncommon prayers from around the world. The entries, one per page or spread, are chosen for their depth of feeling, beauty of expression, spiritual intensity, and sense of the universal. The book is organized into broad categories of praise, entreaty, contemplation, mourning, and grace; and two indexes—one by authorship, and the other by topic—make it immediately accessible. There are familiar prayers, like the Lord’s Prayer and 23rd Psalm, which, placed in new context, shine with a renewed beauty and wisdom. You’ll find prayers unfamiliar to many in the West, such as the “Opener” from the Koran or the four vows of the Boddhisattva, chanted every evening in Zen monasteries around the world. And the surprising—from the “Prayer of the Unknown Confederate Soldier” to the blues of Lightnin’ Hopkins to the poetry of Rumi. God help us to live slowly: To move simply: To look softly: To allow emptiness: To let the heart create for us. Amen. —Michael Leunig You, whose day it is, make it beautiful. Get out your rainbow colors, so it will be beautiful. —Nootka Song

Book Rabbi Tell Me

    Book Details:
  • Author : Peter Ferraro
  • Publisher : Outskirts Press
  • Release : 2016-02-24
  • ISBN : 1478768495
  • Pages : 95 pages

Download or read book Rabbi Tell Me written by Peter Ferraro and published by Outskirts Press. This book was released on 2016-02-24 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work is a dialog between Jesus and his disciples. But herein lies’ the twist. First the Jesus of the Gospel of John answers, then the Jesus of the Gospel of Thomas. In the Gospel of John Jesus is proclaimed to be the only begotten Son of God, the Savior, and more than that, God Himself. And if you “believe” Jesus is who he says he is, the Son of God who has come to judge the living and the dead; and you love and obey him, then you will be granted eternal life. If not, the wrath of God will remain on you. In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus does not proclaim to be the only son of God, nor does he claim to be the savior of Mankind. In fact he teaches that when we come to “know” ourselves, we will understand we are all children of God and saviors from the tyranny of our self-will. In this gospel, Jesus is depicted as a spiritual master whose wisdom sayings delineate a path to peace in one’s life and ultimately, to eternal life itself. In Thomas, eternal life is achieved through “knowledge” and “wisdom,” and not through “obeying” and “believing” in Jesus. “Jesus said, ‘Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death.’” (Thomas Logion 1) Moreover in Thomas, unlike in John, it is not a question of if you will obtain eternal life, but only a matter of when.

Book The Whole Elephant Revealed

Download or read book The Whole Elephant Revealed written by Marja de Vries and published by John Hunt Publishing. This book was released on 2012-05-25 with total page 420 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Whole Elephant Revealed offers clear insights into the existence and operation of universal laws and the golden ratio. It is a synthesis based on common insights found in all wisdom traditions into the operation of universal laws on the one hand and on cutting-edge scientific discoveries that are in line with those insights on the other hand. These principles are called universal because they work on all levels of existence, apply to everything that exist and create order and harmony in the universe. Insights into the operation of the universal laws reveals a whole new worldview. It helps us to understand how everything works in the universe, who we really are and how we can make conscious choices that are more in line with these universal laws. Above all it helps us to understand what works and what doesn’t work in the long term. Everything that operates in line with the universal laws, follows the path of least resistance and is in harmony with the greater whole. It makes us realize that while everything in the universe works in harmony with these principles, many aspects of our personal life and our Western culture are not in line with the operation of these underlying principles. If we choose to act in line with the operation of the universal laws, it will go easier, will be more in tune with who we really are and more in harmony with the greater whole. This choice is hard to make though, if we don’t know those principles. For that reason the rediscovery of the working of these principles seems to be of extreme importance. In this time of great changes and global unbalance a growing number of people begin to feel the need for a clear and well-founded insight into the universal laws, because this gives an understanding of what is needed to restore the balance and harmony in ourselves as well as worldwide. Because the nature of these principles is universal, they apply to all aspects of our individual and social life. Therefore they can be used as a frame of reference for all personal and social transformations which aim at a greater harmony within ourselves and with the greater whole. ,

Book Being Consciousness Bliss

Download or read book Being Consciousness Bliss written by Astrid Fitzgerald and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 2001 with total page 390 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Many people are looking for a deeper and richer spiritual life. They sense that there is more to their existence than the surface of life seems to offer, but they are confused and uncertain about where to look and how to begin. Being Consciousness Bliss is a rich, profound, and eminently accessible compendium of wisdom that will help orient people toward a more fruitful spiritual search. Drawing on a dazzling array of sources, including the insights of G.I. Gurdjieff and P.D. Ouspensky as well as the spiritual traditions of the East, it gives a clear and compelling account of the true inner structure of the human being and how it may be developed to its full potential. Part One discusses the current human condition -- the "sleep" of ordinary life -- and how a person may begin to wake up from it. Part Two offers a feast of excerpts from the Perennial Philosophy -- the great wisdom tradition that underlies all cultures and religions -- to feed and nurture the growth of the soul. Part Three provides simple ways to put these insights into practice in daily life. Clear, sensible, and erudite, Being Consciousness Bliss is a resource, suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners, to be used and treasured for many years. "This is a feast of a book, spread out like a banquet of the freshest foods, served wholesomely, and presented artfully. Starting from a premise that "the aim of human life is to know who we are - to realize our Self, our true nature, and our identity with the Universal Self...," Fitzgerald's poetic and passionate prose awakens consciousness on a deep level. She helps us feel the Self, so we can begin to work with the Self. To complement her own inspired writing, she includes a section with words of wisdom from other sources, grouped by such intent as to examine suffering or to explore aspiration. In addition, there is a cornucopia of suggestions for practice, such as how to focus attention on a task, or how to listen to the sound of your own voice. Dotted with illustrations and charts to further clarify the text, this work is an invitation to a nourishing meal of self-awareness." --S.J.A., Managing Editor, NAPRA Review "Following Aldous Huxley, Astrid Fitzgerald's tireless pursuit of an inner path is sure to awaken the heart to bliss and rouse spirit to behold." --David Appelbaum, editor of Parabola Magazine "This book is equal parts wisdom, beauty, and inspiration. Astrid Fitzgerald opens the insights of the ages for anyone to follow. Highly recommended." --Larry Dossey, M.D., author of Healing Beyond the Body, Reinventing Medicine, and Healing Words "Astrid Fitzgerald's Being Consciousness Bliss is a well-researched, clearly written account of the essential teachings given by all the major wisdom traditions, which all teach that we are one human family." -- Sri Swami Satchidananda, Founder & Spiritual Head, Integral Yoga International /Satchidananda Ashram, Yogaville
