Book excerpt: The ENFP Calling — Defy The Zombie Robots and Create Your Life of Freedom, Fun, and Fulfillment I grew up in a society that values punctuality, order and steadfastness as personal traits. I'm an ENFP. Naturally, as you might imagine, this posed a bit of a problem. From my early days I was bombarded with advice incompatible with my personality type. Highlights include: "The why doesn't matter. Just do it because you have to." "The outcome doesn't matter, it is about the process and structure." "You need to learn to slow down and just stick to one thing." Being tired of such struggles I became a massive consumer of personal development, self-help, and psychology books as I enjoyed my 20s. While I learnt a tremendous amount during this time, I ran into one striking problem: Much of the advice I consumed was written by, and for, someone with a radically different personality than my own! For example, a productivity book like "Getting Things Done" written by David Allen (an ISTJ) or a business book written by Jack Welch, (ENTJ). This lead me on a journey that eventually ended with me coaching ENFPs from around the world for over a decade now. In doing so I've been able to discover what sets us apart beyond culture and what our universal strengths and needs really are. I wrote this book from the mindset of "If I was flying to New Zealand and sat beside an ENFP I'd never see again, what would I share with them during the flight?" When you read The ENFP Calling you're going to find answers to big questions like: What is my purpose? What am I supposed to be doing with my life? Can I ever be happy with just one career? How do I need to live so I can look back with no regrets? You'll also get insights on other important life questions such as: Am I with the right person? What kind of relationship will empower me to reach my potential? How can I feel healthier, energized, and focused without losing my freedom? What else will you be getting when you read The ENFP Calling? ENFP Career and Entrepreneurial Advice Why every ENFP should replace "career" for "calling" in their vocabulary The difference between fear and the feelings that are actually normal whenever you start something new The 4 things every ENFP needs to be happy and successful in their job AI, the future, and how ENFPs will fare (it is VERY good news) A guide to the best industries and careers for us Campaigners Dating & Relationships The mistake every ENFP guy makes when it comes to dating and what to do instead The relationship trap many ENFP women fall into (it happens when they’re going through a tough time) Are ENFPs even wired for Monogamy? Yeah…I go there ENFP Health, Family, and Mindset Advice ENFP best practices to feel healthy, energized and focused Why following your heart is actually the most left brain move ever How to believe in yourself and move forward when friends or family doubt you Why trying to be another type, or conform to external expectations, is a guarantee of burnout and depression A mindset of self-acceptance and love that will fill you with energy and propel you to action Read The ENFP Calling today and learn what has worked, and what hasn't, for the 100s of ENFPs I've had the pleasure of knowing and coaching. This includes ENFPs from nearly every corner of the globe, from Japan, Korea and Indonesia to Brazil, Peru, and Mexico, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, to just about every country in Europe and of course, all those English speaking countries too :) With Love, Dan "Not a Zombie" Johnston

Book From Career to Calling

Download or read book From Career to Calling written by Suzanne Cremen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-04-28 with total page 296 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Finalist in the Australian Career Book Award 2020, supported by the Royal Society of Arts Oceania Finding and following an authentic calling challenges us to bridge both the intuitive, soulful and the hard-edged, material dimensions of everyday life. From Career to Calling: A Depth Psychology Guide to Soul-Making Work in Darkening Times opens new avenues for vocational exploration and career inquiry in an imaginative way. This unique book draws on insights from the field of Jungian and archetypal psychology to reimagine our attitudes and approaches to work, money, vocational guidance and career development. As people find themselves disillusioned with or disenfranchised from capitalist notions of work and career, Suzanne Cremen’s interdisciplinary approach illuminates how a creative, meaningful and influential work-life can emerge from attending to the archetypal basis of experience. Interweaving elements of her own journey, Cremen connects individual experience with the collective in an original way, spotlighting depression in the legal profession, marginalization of the feminine principle in work environments, and how understanding the roots of our cultural complexes can spark personal callings which facilitate collective transformation. Blending compelling real-life stories with robust scholarly analysis and reflective activities, this book will help practitioners to support individuals to develop a sense of their soul’s calling and offer guidance on creating an authentic vocational life within the constraints of the contemporary era. Additionally, it will be invaluable to those in career transition, re-discovering their purpose at the end of a career, or commencing work-life.

Book excerpt: Determine your personality using a scientifically validated method based on the work of C.G. Jung and gain insight into why others behave the way they do, and why you are the person you are. What’s your type? Would you rather . . . . . . celebrate with the whole crowd or just a few friends? . . . focus on the facts or get an overall impression? . . . go with what “seems logical” or what “feels fair”? . . . keep to a schedule or keep your options open? How you answer these questions is the very beginning of understanding who you are and how you relate to those around you, by using a new and exciting method called Typewatching. Otto Kroeger and Janet M. Thuesen have developed Typewatching from the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which was derived from the work of C. G. Jung. Now they have put together the first and only popular guide to the MBTI in Type Talk. Here is a one-of-a-kind guide that describes this scientifically validated approach to “name-calling,” a method that has been used for more than forty years by individuals, families, corporations, and governments who want to communicate better. Typewatching as explained in Type Talk is easy to learn and natural to use. With even moderate practice it can help teachers teach and students learn, workers work and bosses boss. It can help lovers love, parents parent, and everyone accept themselves and others more easily. Best of all, Typewatching is fun. Type Talk examines the four pairs of preferences that are fundamental to every personality type: Extraversion/Introversion, Sensing/iNtuition, Thinking/Feeling, and Judging/Perceiving. Kroeger and Thuesen provide a self-evaluation that can be used to determine which of each of these preferences best describes you. They delineate every combination of preferences—there are 16 different personality types, so you are sure to find yourself—and they go on to demonstrate how to analyze and evaluate other people as well. Once armed with this knowledge, you will learn how to thrive in a world of so many different types. Here is a celebration of the similarities and differences in people, an odyssey of discovery in which the final destination is success, satisfaction, and serenity.

This book was released on 2022-04-29T22:59:00Z with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Online type quizzes only scratch the surface of personality assessment. They typically base their judgments on the most elementary type theory, which pits introverts against extroverts, intuitives against sensors, thinkers against feelers, and judgers against perceivers. #2 The world is actually much more complicated than the categories of introvert and extrovert suggest. Personality type is a reflection of how you process information and reach decisions. #3 The eight cognitive functions are: Introverted Intuition, Extroverted Intuition, Introverted Sensing, Extroverted Sensing, Introverted Feeling, Extroverted Feeling, Introverted Thinking, and Extroverted Thinking. We all prefer using one of our perceptive functions over the other. #4 Extroverted intuition, or Ne, is our idea-generating function. It dwells primarily in the future and gains energy through the exploration of abstract ideas and future possibilities. It enjoys brainstorming, speculating, and connecting ideas to each other using abstract reasoning.
