Book Effects of Same day Strength Training on Bat Swing Velocity of Male Collegiate Baseball Players

Download or read book Effects of Same day Strength Training on Bat Swing Velocity of Male Collegiate Baseball Players written by Anthony Loren Clah and published by . This book was released on 2008 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The average of the top six bat swing peak velocity test results, for each subject, was compared to measures taken on the NLD and LD. A paired samples t-test revealed a significant difference in bat swing peak velocity between a NLD and a LD. A mean bat swing difference between NLD (69.18) and LD (70.86) of 1.68 was statistically different at the .05 level [p=.021]. This study suggests that male collegiate baseball players should be able to engage in a designed strength training program without negative effect, and the possibility of a positive effect, on bat swing peak velocity when a strength training session is scheduled on the same day as a baseball competition.

Book The Effects of a Torso Strengthening and Rotational Power Program Vs Strength Training on Angular Hip Angular Shoulder and Linear Bat Head Velocity in Male College Baseball Players

Download or read book The Effects of a Torso Strengthening and Rotational Power Program Vs Strength Training on Angular Hip Angular Shoulder and Linear Bat Head Velocity in Male College Baseball Players written by Robin Joseph Lund and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Bat head velocity is an important factor in hitting. It is hypothesized that in order to generate maximal bat head velocity a hitter must have a strong torso to generate rotational power. This study attempted to determine the effectiveness of a torso strength and rotational power program vs. weight training on the improvement of angular hip and shoulder velocity and linear bat head velocity in male college baseball players. The position players of three college baseball teams were pre and post tested for maximal angular hip and shoulder velocity and peak linear bat head velocity in the impact zone through biomechanical analysis. The first group engaged in weight training and the torso strength and rotational power program for the ten week training period. The second group engaged in only weight training and the third group acted as control. The statistic measures used were a 3 X 2 factorial ANOVA (p

Book The Effect of an In season Strength Training Program on Throwing Velocity of High School Baseball Players

Download or read book The Effect of an In season Strength Training Program on Throwing Velocity of High School Baseball Players written by Nathan Allen Cermak and published by . This book was released on 2007 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of an in-season strength-training program on throwing velocity. Twenty-one baseball players, mean # SD age, height, and weight of 16.7 # 1.2 yr., 71.1 # 3.1 in., and 168.1 # 29.9 lb, respectively, were assigned to a control or experimental group. Pre-test and post-test throwing velocities were measured with a radar gun. The experimental group participated in a strength-training program three time a week for six weeks. Data was analyzed with an ANOVA. There was no significant interaction between the experitmental group (n=10) (pre-test) 68.3 mph, post-test 69.6 mph) and the control group (n=8) (pre-test 69.3 mph, post-test 69.6 mph) over time. There was no main effect (n=18) for time; pre-test vs. post-test velocities 68.7 mph and 69.6 mph, respectively, or for group; control vs. experimental. It can be concluded that a six-week strength-training program has no effect on throwing velocity.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "My son at 10yo (90-lbs) is highly coach-able. I taught him the system in February and he hit well during the season but could only hit the ball around 180'. Then all of a sudden around June he started killing the ball. He was hitting home runs every game and hit a ball at least 250-feet" - Michael Parillo (via email) Sick of struggling to help hitters drive the ball hard with more consistency? Dramatically increase power without sacrificing swing quality. Literally thousands of coaches across the nation are getting predictably positive results with hitters using the CLS system. How? By applying human movement principles validated by REAL science to hitting a ball, and NOT "bro-science." THIS STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO CONSISTENT POWER TEACHES: How to master a handful of human movement principles, so you can slice the "teach hitting" learning curve in half. How to effectively load the body, so your hitters can optimize their batted ball distance potential. How elite-hitters are revealing ways to hit balls with High-Exit-Speeds, swing after swing, using three elements a 4-year-old can understand. Why 'loading and exploding the hips' is bad for lower back, and how to teach hitters a highly effective but SAFE swing. THE NEW EXPANDED EDITION INCLUDES: 'How to practice' section at end of each movement principle Chapter. How to train a 2-year-old to hit a moving ball (proof that NOT only elite hitters can be taught these movements). Why pitchers are taught to pitch around ineffective swing paths, and how to turn their weapon against them. Why coaches MUST focus their hitters' efforts on targeting and elevating pitches low in the zone. How to teach timing and get hitters on-time more often in games.
