Download or read book The E book Business Model of the Mobile Phone Services in Taiwan written by Kuo-feng Tseng and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the development of the e-book devices, such as Kindle, iPad, smart phones and tablet notebook, and the appearance of aggregators, such as Amazon, Barnes & Nobel, and iBook store, there are substainable business models for the publishing industry to begin making profits. However, the e-book market is still in the early stage in Taiwan. The publishers question the e-book profit opportunity and whether the oversea business model would be able to apply to Taiwan. This study will foucs on the cost and profit structures among the publishers and the mobile content aggregators to find out the possible e-book business model in Taiwan. There were 20 book publishers and aggregators interviewd in Taiwan's e-book market. We found that the lack of the popular translated fictions was the major reason that readers do not buy the e-books. Unlike the popularity of Kindle or Nook in the U.S., the Taiwanese readers usually read the e-books from the computer or mobile phone. However, recently the publishers begin to own the Chinese more e-book copyrights of the popular translated fictions. Readers can buy those e-books later in many website or APP store through the mobile phone, tablet PC and iPad. We can expect that the e-book market will grow soon in a couple years. However, for the sustainable business model, the publishers and mobile aggregators still need to have other aggregissive marketing strategies to attract e-book buying. -- e-book ; business model ; mobile phone ; marketing strategy

Download or read book The Dilemma of Electronic Books in the Mobile Age in Taiwan written by Kuo-feng Tseng and published by . This book was released on 2013 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As the voice profits of the mobile phone companies continuously decline in Taiwan, they need to find other revenues from the digital contents to survive in the mobile age. The mobile phone companies had created several online platforms to sell digital video, music and books. Especially in the past two years, as more and more customers had the big screens of portable tablet PC or smart phones, the sale of the e-books becomes the major marketing strategy to promote the penetration of smart phones in Taiwan. However, few e-books were available in the mobile online platforms in the past few years, so this study conducted the survey of the book publishing industry to understand the major factors. The results show: first, few copyrights of the popular oversea books are available; second, only the book conglomerate are willing to take the risk to launch the e-book services; third, currently the sales of the e-books are not able to compensate the costs; fourth, there is no such a platform to let all kind of e-books available in Taiwan.

Book Analyzing the Mobile Content Consumption in Different Social Contexts

Download or read book Analyzing the Mobile Content Consumption in Different Social Contexts written by Kuo-feng Tseng and published by . This book was released on 2012 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Could mobile phones become mass media, like television, radio, newspaper or Internet, which provide us information and entertainment? Although the penetration rates of mobile phones are very high in most countries, many users are not willing to spend money on the consumption of mobile online services. To explore those factors, this research analyzed 24 graduate students in different social contexts from Taiwan and the U.S. The results showed that the school life style, WiFi on campus, high mobile service fees, low incomes and low usage utilities made students not willing to spend money on the mobile contents. Instead, the notebooks are the homework and mass media center for most students, and they get those information and entertainment contents from the alternative Internet for free. -- mobile phone ; context ; activity theory ; business model

A number of new technologies have come together to enable its vision. Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) headsets have become cheaper and more powerful improving the user experience. Blockchain has enabled digital currencies and NFTs. The new methods to transact and own digital goods are allowing creators to monetize their activities through tokens. In addition to monetization, and as a means to exchange value, token-holders can also participate in the platform’s governance (e.g., vote on decisions). This democratic ownership economy coupled with the possibility of interoperability could unlock immense economic opportunities whereby digital goods and services are no longer captive to a singular gaming platform or brand. As the world steps into the metaverse, it is imperative to spark conversations with all objects and those interacting within the next dimension. Applying Metalytics to Measure Customer Experience in the Metaverse introduces metalytics, a new perspective on analytics for the new dimension of spatial and immersive Web 3.0. It presents the new conversations in the elements of a new digital age converging at a large scale. Covering topics such as big data analytics, financial services, and network analysis, this premier reference source is an essential resource for business leaders and executives, IT managers, entrepreneurs, financial specialists, consultants, statisticians, marketers, government officials, students and educators of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians.
