Book A Stranger in the House of God

Download or read book A Stranger in the House of God written by John Koessler and published by Zondervan. This book was released on 2009-08-30 with total page 227 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Growing up the son of agnostics, John Koessler saw a Catholic church on one end of the street and a Baptist on the other. In the no-man’s land between the two, this curious outside wondered about the God they worshipped—and began a lifelong search to comprehend the grace and mystery of God. A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A theology of intercession? He who intercedes bleeds. He Who Bleeds describes our Savior. So if Jesus is the image of the invisible God, then can we not see the character of the Invisible God in our Savior Jesus Christ? He is The God Who Bleeds. He is calling us to join Him. "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus" Hebrews 10:19 What happens inside that Most Holy Place? The Holy of Holies has one function. It is the place where intercession is made. He Who Bleeds is a call to intercessors. "The LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice. And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor." Isaiah 59:15-16 There was no justice. There was no intercessor. Innocent victims all over the globe in the 21st century cry for justice. God wants justice. God looks for intercessors! He Who Bleeds includes: Why did Jesus have to die? 1. Jesus died to be our Redeemer: He died as the Firstborn Redeemer. He was the only begotten son of God, the reproduction of God Himself, who became obedient unto death to redeem the world from the law system of death. (1) 2. Jesus died to become our Intercessor: He died as The Intercessor to bring reconciliation between God and sinners, but also to bring reconciliation between the victim and the perpetrator. (2) -To the repentant sinner He is the True Victim of every sin who waives the charges, making atonement. The Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all, Isaiah 53:6 -To the victim He is touched with the feeling of our infirmities, Hebrews 4:15, and He has carried our sorrows, Isaiah 53:4. He alone brings divine consolation and peace to the victim whether or not the perpetrator repents. 3. Jesus died to Purge our Conscience: -His own blood washes us from our sins purging the conscience defiled by sin. (3) 4. Jesus died to be the Second Testator: (4) -Jesus, as the sole heir of the Father, died to bequeath to his many brethren the inheritance of the Father. 5. Jesus died to take away the sin of the world. (5) John 1:29 Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Book Operating in the Courts of Heaven

Download or read book Operating in the Courts of Heaven written by Robert Henderson and published by Destiny Image Publishers. This book was released on 2016-02-23 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why do some people pray in agreement with Gods will, heart and timing, yet the desired answers do not come? Why would God not respond when we pray from the earnestness of our hearts? What is the problem, or better yet, what is the solution? Robert Henderson believes the answer is found in where your prayer actually takes place. We must direct our prayer towards the Courts of Heaven and not only the battlefield. Robert shows that it is in the courtrooms of Heaven where our breakthroughs can be found. When you learn to operate there you will see your answers unlocked and released. This book will teach you the legal processes of Heaven and how to operate in its courts. When you get off the battlefield and into the courtroom you can grant God the legal clearance to fulfill His passion and answer your prayers.

Book The Justice of God in the Damnation of Sinners

Download or read book The Justice of God in the Damnation of Sinners written by Jonathan Edwards and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2016-06-08 with total page 80 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A crime is more or less heinous, according as we are under greater or less obligations to the contrary. This is self-evident; because it is herein that the criminalness or faultiness of any thing consists, that it is contrary to what we are obliged or bound to, or what ought to be in us. So the faultiness of one being hating another, is in proportion to his obligation to love him. The crime of one being despising and casting contempt on another, is proportionably more or less heinous, as he was under greater or less obligations to honour him. The fault of disobeying another, is greater or less, as any one is under greater or less obligations to obey him. And therefore if there be any being that we are under infinite obligations to love, and honour, and obey, the contrary towards him must be infinitely faulty. Our obligation to love, honour, and obey any being, is in proportion to his loveliness, honourableness, and authority; for that is the very meaning of the words. When we say any one is very lovely, it is the same as to say, that he is one very much to be loved. Or if we say such a one is more honourable than another, the meaning of the words is, that he is one that we are more obliged to honour. If we say any one has great authority over us, it is the same as to say, that he has great right to our subjection and obedience. But God is a being infinitely lovely, because he hath infinite excellency and beauty. To have infinite excellency and beauty, is the same thing as to have infinite loveliness. He is a being of infinite greatness, majesty, and glory; and therefore he is infinitely honourable. He is infinitely exalted above the greatest potentates of the earth, and highest angels in heaven; and therefore he is infinitely more honourable than they. His authority over us is infinite; and the ground of his right to our obedience is infinitely strong; for he is infinitely worthy to be obeyed himself, and we have an absolute, universal, and infinite dependence upon him. So that sin against God, being a violation of infinite obligations, must be a crime infinitely heinous, and so deserving of infinite punishment.- Nothing is more agreeable to the common sense of mankind, than that sins committed against any one, must be proportionably heinous to the dignity of the being offended and abused; as it is also agreeable to the word of God, I Samuel 2:25. "If one man sin against another, the judge shall judge him;" (i.e. shall judge him, and inflict a finite punishment, such as finite judges can inflict;) "but if a man sin against the Lord, who shall entreat for him?" This was the aggravation of sin that made Joseph afraid of it. Genesis 39:9. "How shall I commit this great wickedness, and sin against God?" This was the aggravation of David's sin, in comparison of which he esteemed all others as nothing, because they were infinitely exceeded by it. Psalm 51:4. "Against thee, thee only have I sinned."-The eternity of the punishment of ungodly men renders it infinite: and it renders it no more than infinite; and therefore renders no more than proportionable to the heinousness of what they are guilty of.
