Book The Voyage Of The Logos Hope

Download or read book The Voyage Of The Logos Hope written by Rodney Hui and published by BookRix. This book was released on 2016-10-05 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story that needs to be told and I thank the Lord that Rodney Hui who lives on Logo Hope and who has been one of the main leaders of OM in Asia has written it, together with George Simpson. It was on the night of 10 Sept 2001 while Logos II was in London that we launched the next ship project at the Emmanuel Centre. I was sailing out of London the next day, the 11th, when that fateful event took place in New York City. Only eternity will tell the full story of the spiritual battles that were fought and won to bring into being this much bigger, amazing ship that we have seen God using since we took delivery in 2004. I hope you will read this book with a spirit of expectation and also a willingness to learn something about God and the way He works. The table of contents is in front of me and part of the manuscript and I believe those who will take the time to read this book are going to be informed, challenged and blessed. Thousands of people pray for this ministry and support it including many former and present ship ministry people. I hope some read what I am writing here as on behalf of our entire global movement. I want to thank every one of them. You can be sure I will be giving some of you a copy of this unique book. Thank you Rodney and George. Dr. George Verwer Founder, Operation Mobilisation

Book excerpt: In a world that runs with the need for speed, we feel time pushing us, sometimes even mastering us, as we rush from one thing to the next. Time is as familiar as the clock on the wall, yet it’s also a mystery. For poets, philosophers, songwriters, and scientists, time and eternity are frontiers as rich and compelling as the origins of the cosmos and the nature of God.One of the emerging writers and thinkers of our day, Ellen Vaughn, takes us on a stirring journey through this topic that touches us all. How can time-bound humans relate to a limitless God and enjoy his peace? Time Peace examines how we experience time in life’s fleeting moments. It explores timekeeping through history and in different cultures and introduces the unique Christian distinctive about it. It soars through the space-time continuum in an intriguing exploration of how science and philosophy illuminate biblical accounts. It helps readers take these truths and apply them to everyday life, freeing us to live at peace in time—and to leave a legacy that lasts for eternity.

Founder of the world’s largest missions organization, George has spent nearly 60 years leading gospel movements around the globe. Witness to not a few failures—including his own—he can still say this: “I believe history will show that God was doing way more in the midst of our messes than we realized at the time.” In Messiology, George reflects on his life and ministry to remind us that God works in mysterious ways. He cautions us from getting critical. He urges us toward love, patience, affection, and grace. Major in the majors, minor in rest, and trust God always, even in failure. Read Messiology, and remember that we’re better together, even when we fall.

And what was the unique process, involving more than a hundred scholars from a wide variety of Christian denominations, that led to the publishing of the New International Version in 1978 that has now sold over five hundred million copies? It will give you a fresh appreciation of the estimated two hundred thousand man-hours that went into the production of this influential version of Holy Scripture.

Book Life of Christ

    Book Details:
  • Author : Robert Geis
  • Publisher : University Press of America
  • Release : 2013-03-08
  • ISBN : 0761860215
  • Pages : 435 pages

Download or read book Life of Christ written by Robert Geis and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2013-03-08 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Life of Christ bridges the gap between commentaries and devotional accounts of Christ’s ministry. Applying the requisite analytical tools, it addresses the question, is His life worth studying? The Resurrection event would confirm it is, as would the Gospel miracle accounts—neither of which, Geis argues, skeptical response disproves. Salvation history necessitates the reality of Mary’s virginity, which the author develops lexically and theologically. Jesus’ teachings and parables bring out a Christ Whose moral precepts are rooted in His Divinity and not in western philosophic nostrums. Geis’ discussion of Christ on marriage and His commandment of love sharpens this observation with lexical application. He also addresses the inconsistent objectives and circular reasoning of various exegetical schools, which have no place in a study of the Gospels.

Book Living in God s True Story

Download or read book Living in God s True Story written by Donald L. Morcom and published by Lexham Press. This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 78 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We all need a reminder of the true story at the heart of the gospel. In the face of false teachers and skeptics, Peter wrote his second epistle to remind his readers of God's true story. They needed to be reoriented to the truth of their identity and status in Christ. Christians continue to experience similar challenges to our spiritual foundations today. In Living in God's True Story: 2 Peter, Donald L. Morcom shows that remembering the truth is the core theme of Peter's second letter. In the midst of false alternatives, he encourages believers to live faithful lives that demonstrate love and wisdom. Though it may be short, 2 Peter is an impactful letter that explains how we can order our lives in accordance with God's true story.
