Book excerpt: This is a transcript from a podcast message from Pastor Doug Riggs originally aired on Georgeann Hughes' ByteShow posted around 2009.This is not your run-of-the-mill rock-you-to-sleep bible lesson - but a terrific revelation and explanation of what is coming and how to prepare for it. The "Day of Visitation" is like a two-edged sword: for some, a great and long awaited blessing and vindication; for others, a potentially fatal and tragic judgment resulting in eternal loss of the inheritance and blessing God intended all of us to receive."God has a plan at the end of this age for the church, called the 'day of visitation'. It has never happened in history - and that 'day of visitation' coincides with the final phase of the church age when it's very dark - the morning star, which comes at the end of a very long night - means the church is going to pass through its greatest suffering - its greatest tribulation prior to "the Great Tribulation" which is going to come upon Israel and the Nations ... So the church must pass through a time of darkness leading up to and preparing a way for the 'man of sin' to be revealed.""Once a person sees this eschatological framework, you have a solid grounding in where you are in history; you have a clear understanding of God's purpose and end-time plan for Israel and the Nations which comes after this - but God's whole purpose of bringing the church to completion - bringing the church 'to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ' (Eph. 4:13) - Christ being fully formed in His people (Gal. 4:19) - this is the key, because Christ in His people is the revelation of His glory. The church is the chosen instrument to reveal the glory of the Messiah (2 Thess. 2:14; Col. 3:4; 2 Thess. 4:10). When He comes, 'He will come to be glorified in His saints.'""With all the confusion that is out there, and fear of believers going through the time of antichrist - I do not see that at all in the scripture - but that does not mean that the church is not going to pass through a time of great suffering - that is a part of the 'day of visitation'."

It is when the rain has stopped, that they will realise that they could have stored water in their bucket free of charge, by just putting it under the rain. They are busy practising religion, whilst time is flying. It is a tragedy for a person not to know his time of visitation and to miss it. Why do people not know their time of visitation?

Book Disciples Literal New Testament

Download or read book Disciples Literal New Testament written by Michael Magill and published by Reyma Publishing. This book was released on 2011 with total page 476 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If You Love God's Word You Will Love This New Testament! The Disciples' Literal New Testament sets you free from our artificial 460 year old chapter and verse structure, replacing it with paragraphing that reflects the flow of thought in the original Greek writings. Paragraph headings make that flow of thought explicit to you, speeding your understanding of the NT books. This translation retains the writing style of the apostles themselves, rather than transforming their Greek ways of writing into an elegant or contemporary English writing style, as has been beautifully done so many times. It is the same translation as the author's New Testament TransLine, first published by Zondervan in 2002. Now you can read the New Testament as the original writers intended it, and see it with a clarity formerly available only to those who could carefully study their Greek New Testament. You can even see the difference in writing style between Matthew, Mark and Luke! Used along with your standard Bible version, you will profit from both methods of translation. *Easily grasp the relationship of the whole and the parts of each book with the big-picture overview outlines that use the words of the original author. *Gain quick insight into the flow of thought from descriptive paragraph headings that summarize the main point of each paragraph in its context. *You can visually follow the apostles' thinking because the 'Intelligent Paragraphing' visually displays their main and subordinate thoughts. *The hindrance to your understanding caused by our artificial chapter and verse structure is eliminated by paragraphing based on the Greek writings. *You will more fully appreciate the minds and thinking patterns and intent of the original writers because the translation corresponds more closely to their words and their grammar and their sentence structure. *Deepen and expand your understanding of the New Testament by meditating on the notes containing alternative renderings, explanations of what is being said, and different views of the meaning.

Book excerpt: The biblical encounter between the Virgin Mary and her cousin Elizabeth, before the births of Jesus and John the Baptist, is at the heart of Gifts of the Visitation by popular speaker and syndicated columnist Denise Bossert. She uses their story to highlight nine gifts experienced by both women as they awaited the arrival of their sons and to encourage readers to develop these gifts themselves. In her debut book, speaker, columnist, and Catholic convert Denise Bossert showcases the seasons of birth, grief, newness, and challenge experienced in the hearts of Mary and Elizabeth at the Visitation and invites readers to see these times in their own lives as opportunities to let God make all things new. Within each of those seasons, nine gifts emerge—spontaneity, courage, joy, readiness, humility, adventure, hospitality, wonder and awe, and thanksgiving—equipping readers to present Christ to the world as Mary and Elizabeth did. Bossert's encounter with Mary, which led her to Catholicism, serves as the window for discovering and exploring the gifts and helps readers look inside their own hearts to discover what the gifts of the visit between Mary and Elizabeth mean to them and how they can be Christ-bearers to others.

Book Her Day of Visitation Classic Reprint

Download or read book Her Day of Visitation Classic Reprint written by Emma B. Gunnett and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2018-01-12 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Her Day of Visitation I was born in a Christian home. My parents and grandparents were devout Methodists. I was taught to pray as soon as I could speak, and taken to the House of God before I could walk. Family worship was sacredly observed. Prayer and class-meeting and the old-fashioned love-feast were faithfully attended, and the Friday before each quarterly meeting was observed as a day of prayer and fasting. When ten years of age, I was admitted to membership in the Methodist Episcopal Church and have retained this membership till the present time. On the 9th day of October, 1888, I became the wife of a Methodist preacher, who at that time was a member of the Illinois Annual Conference. For many years I have been engaged in the labors and enjoyed the privilege of a pastor's wife. During those years God blest our efforts, and many were converted and gathered into the church.
