Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is becoming increasingly popular among the intelligentsia to claim that treasured Bible history is nothing more than a myth. Proponents conclude that since the church is unsure of when these events transpired, perhaps they never happened in the first place. Unfortunately, this alarming trend appears to be gaining more acceptance in our seminaries and churches. The True Bible Timeline seeks to dispel such notions by providing an accurate resource to properly date the Old Testament. The result of a five-year long project, it accurately establishes and painstakingly documents the dates of key Bible figures and events, starting with the Creation of Adam and ending at the Cross of Christ. The complete chronology for 200 Bible events is included in the appendix. Guided by His Wisdom, author R. Craig Bridgforth built this timeline through a meticulous process that allowed him to produce a trustworthy and accurate resource that will enrich studies of the Old Testament with new understanding and insight. Developed almost entirely from Scripture, this reference guide provides a reliable chronology of events and figures from the Old Testament.

Book 80 Old Testament Characters of World History Chronological Historical and Archaeological Evidence

Download or read book 80 Old Testament Characters of World History Chronological Historical and Archaeological Evidence written by Gerard Gertoux and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2016-02-27 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the fact that the name of many characters mentioned in the Old Testament, like David, King of Israel, have been recently confirmed by archaeology as well as their epoch and the events in which they were involved, most archaeologists continue to deny the historicity of the Bible they view as pious fiction or a mythical account. They argue that the major events in the Bible such as the victory of Abraham against Chedorlaomer, an unknown king of Elam around 2000 BCE, the victory of Moses against an unknown Pharaoh around 1500 BCE or the victory of Esther, an unknown Persian Queen, against an unknown vizier of Xerxes, never existed because they left absolutely no evidence. They also explain that according to what we know today, these events could not have occurred. These logical arguments are impressive but a precise chronological analysis based on absolute dates, coupled with a rigorous historical investigation, shows that all those major events really took place at the dates and places indicated.

Book Earth s Sacred Calendar the Dated Events of the Old Testament

Download or read book Earth s Sacred Calendar the Dated Events of the Old Testament written by Jim Liles and published by . This book was released on 2020-01-02 with total page 636 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: EARTH'S SACRED CALENDAR: The Dated Events of the Old Testament details the dates of over 1,200 Old Testament events in chronological order. If you want to know the age of the earth according to the Bible this book is for you. This book uses the text from the KJ3 Literal Translation by Jay Green Sr. All timeline of the Bible dates with Old Testament commentary are calculated from the start date of the Exodus in 1445 BC using only the Biblical text. This one-of-a-kind Hebrew calendar Bible chronology shows how the 364-Day 'sacred' Bible calendar digitally generates the solar calendars in use today. This is the only Bible Commentary that shows the inerrancy of the dated text of Scripture. The reader of Scripture will see clear evidence that the source of the Biblical text cannot be solely of human origin. This Hebrew 364-Day calendar is neither a solar calendar nor a solar-lunar calendar. This book contains new information about our understanding of the precise nature of the Biblical text in some of the following ways:1). This Old Testament commentary is the only Bible chronology that gives the exact number of years from the Creation Week to the Birth of Jesus in 5 BC that matches dates in the Biblical text. 2).This is currently the only book that gives detailed information about the 364-Day calendar consistent with the Old Testament Masoretic text. It is very clear from this research that the 364-Day calendar of the Old Testament digitally generates the solar calendars in use today. 3). The brief and extensive commentary on many events gives the reader a more detailed and comprehensive picture of the chronological order of the Bible. This Biblical commentary provides clear evidence that the source of the precise dated years and events in the Biblical text cannot be solely of human origin. 4). This book clarifies much of the confusion that exists in the current study of Bible Chronology. This is the first book that shows how the exact dates of the 70 Weeks of Daniel Prophecy can be understood from the numbered dated text of Scripture. 5). This book contains over 100 pages of Bible timeline charts, solar calendars, and dates of over 1,200 Old Testament events in chronological order. This book and the website The Sacred Calendar are the only source of this new information about the chronological aspect of the inerrancy of Scripture.

Purchasers can usually download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1907 edition. Excerpt: ... sin, when the country had become secure and prosperous and Jerusalem had become magnificent, is confirmed by the details as given in both Samuel and Chronicles. Later came the great promise (2 Sam. 7; 1 Chron. 17), when Jehovah had given David rest from all his enemies round about (2 Sam. 7:1). We have already seen that this view of the chronology brings the events of the external history into an orderly sequence quite in contrast with the violently improbable order involved in the Josephan cast of the events. While David was king in Hebron both he and Ishbosheth probably accepted the suzerainty of the Philistines. When David was made king of Israel of course the Philistines objected. Having repulsed them in two successive campaigns, David was too wise a general not to carry the war into the enemy's country, and in course of time he took the reins away from the Philistines (2 Sam. 8: i), and held them himself. His other conquests followed, and his sin and his repentance, and his interest in the building of a temple, and his fondness for Solomon. It is no wonder that dissatisfaction arose over the prominence thus given to Jerusalem, and no wonder that there came to be a legitimist party which preferred the succession of elder sons of David to that of Solomon. All these things follow in consecutive order when we once get the correct point of view. The same is true of the personal experience of David. Following the Josephan theory the ethical history of David is a series of contradictions; it becomes an intelligible continuity when we arrange it on the line of the biblical time data. Up to the time of the death of Samuel David's conduct is not merely exemplary, but fine. Then he begins to deteriorate. He plans to avenge himself on Nabal. He...

Book The Chronology of the Old Testament Classic Reprint

Download or read book The Chronology of the Old Testament Classic Reprint written by David Ross Fotheringham and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-08-04 with total page 160 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from The Chronology of the Old Testament HE following dissertation has been written in such moments as could be spared from the performance of pressing parochial duties. It is hoped however that it will shew no sign either of undue haste or of lack of preparation. Indeed, since chronology has been the author's study or his recreation from his childhood, it may be said that many years have each contributed their toll to the production of the little volume. In one respect the chronology that is advocated here may be regarded as a reversion to schemes and systems of an earlier date. This is true in that it is essentially a Biblical Chronology, and has been deduced almost entirely from the Hebrew records. Synchronism with Assyrian and other history serves to test and to establish the truth of results that have been already attained, but it is too slight to provide a solid foundation for an alternative system, and the attempt to make it such has led to disaster. The hope is expressed that the present enquiry may tend to a clearer view of historical sequence and may to some extent replace the elaborate chronological systems of past centuries that have failed to satisfy. This book was released on 2005-07-19 with total page 629 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 'The first major collection of cuneiform texts in English' Despite its age, this volume still has a major contribution to make. Unlike other collections, Rogers's volume includes the transliterated Akkadian for each text. This provides an invaluable access to the original texts without having a library that includes every volume of the original publications. A further asset is the collection of forty-eight excellent photographs and line-drawings. Included here are tablets, prisms, cylinders, seals, boundary stones, and bas reliefs. The bibliography is composed of two parts. The first includes the entries from Rogers's ÒList of Books Quoted or Mentioned,Ó but with numerous corrections and supplying much missing data. The second part is an updated list, organized by major cuneiform languages: Diverse Collections, Sumerian, Akkadian, Hittite, Hurrian, Eblaite, and Ugaritic.
