Book excerpt: Inspired by the Soldier's Creed, A Christian Mother's Creed calls mothers to Think like a Soldier and Fight Like a Mother. During initiation into the United States Army, future soldiers recite the soldier's creed daily. The Soldier's Creed contains 12 declarations that transform the mentality and attitude of future soldiers. In reciting and practicing the soldier's creed, Civilians become Soldiers. The Soldier's Creed guides American soldiers throughout their service. It is the key to thriving in the United States Army. Just like the Soldier's Creed, A Christian Mother's Creed contains 12 faith declarations that can transform Worrying-Moms into Warrior-Moms. Temi used her experience in the United States Army to teach mothers how to think like a soldier, form an alliance with God in mothering, become supermoms, and practice kingdom-minded mothering. The declarations in this book are prophetic words for women believing God for a child, single women hoping to become mothers, and those currently mothering. The power of confession and your alliance with God will call forth the child you desire, the mother you want to become, and empower you to attain mastery of the declarations in a Christian Mother's Creed.

Download or read book Undivided written by Patricia Raybon and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2015-04-28 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “Mom, I have something I need to tell you…” They didn’t talk. Not for ten years. Not about faith anyway. Instead, a mother and daughter tiptoed with pain around the deepest gulf in their lives – the daughter’s choice to leave the church, convert to Islam and become a practicing Muslim. Undivided is a real-time story of healing and understanding with alternating narratives from each as they struggle to learn how to love each other in a whole new way. Although this is certainly a book for mothers and daughters struggling with interfaith tensions , it is equally meaningful for mothers and daughters who feel divided by tensions in general. An important work for parents whose adult children have left the family’s belief system, it will help those same children as they wrestle to better understand their parents. Undivided offers an up close and personal look at the life of an Islamic convert—a young American woman—at a time when attitudes are mixed about Muslims (and Muslim women in particular), but interest in such women is high. For anyone troubled by the broader tensions between Islam and the West, this personal story distills this friction into the context of a family relationship—a journey all the more fascinating. Undivided is a tremendously important book for our time. Will Patricia be able to fully trust in the Christ who “holds all things together?” Will Alana find new hope or new understanding as the conversation gets deeper between them? And can they answer the question that both want desperately to experience, which is “Can we make our torn family whole again?”

Book excerpt: "Be an example . . . in speech, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." 1 Timothy 4:12 "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6 The object of this book is practical utility, not literary effect. It was written for mothers in the common walks of life. There are many mothers, in every village of our land, who are looking eagerly for information respecting the government of their children. It is hoped that the following treatise may render them some assistance. Some people may object to the minuteness of detail, and the familiarity of illustration, occasionally introduced. We, however, are persuaded that this objection will not be made by mothers. Education consists in attention to little things. The religious sentiments inculcated in this book are those usually denominated evangelical. We have proceeded upon the principle that this present life is the commencement of external existence, and that the great object of education is to prepare the child for its heavenly home.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For a Christian woman, motherhood is the subtle art of building a house in grace: "The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands" (Prov. 14:1). Each day's work is significant, for it contributes toward the long-term plan. Each nail helps a house stand in a storm. But motherhood isn't a simple formula. Building a home -- childbirth, education, discipline -- requires holy joy and a love of beauty. The mother who fears God does not fear the future.

Attaining excellence doesn’t have to be unsettling but it will take committed focus and a desire to parent well according to God’s grace and for His glory. Mama, you are worthy of the awesome responsibility God has given you. Now it’s time to start believing you can live up to it.

Book excerpt: "What on God's good earth is more glorious than this; to be a mother?" With these words, Cardinal Mindzenty, summed up the glories of maternity, ordered toward the creation of new saints for the kingdom of God. And yet, the life of the mother is not an easy one. Between helping her husband, caring for her children, trips to school, the doctor, the grocery store, not to mention housework, cooking, and more, the life of a mother can lose it's proper focus: the glory of God. Add to this an increasingly hostile modern world who thinks little of mothers and offers little help and support and the situation is overwhelming. To help Catholic mothers sanctify themselves in their state in life, and through that, to sanctify their homes as well, we have printed the original, unadulterated version of Mother Love, a complete prayer and devotional book, just for moms! Originally written in the late 1800s by a priest of the Capuchin order, this "manual for Christian mothers" contains: Morning and Evening Prayers for Mothers Devotions for the Holy Rosary Points of Doctrine a Christian Mother Should Teach to Her Children Prayers at Mass The "Ten Commandments" of Christian Education Devotions for Confession, and Communion Devotions for the Poor Souls, and for the Way of the Cross Prayers for the Various Special Necessities of a Christian Mother Prayers to Some of the Special Patrons of Christian Mothers Indulgenced Prayers A short book of instructions for Christian Mothers on the Christian Training of Children Purchase this book for yourself, or for the Catholic mothers you know. It contains almost everything a mother needs to nurture and grow her spiritual life, so that through their sanctification they may sanctify their husbands and children, and truly become the heart of the Catholic home.

Download or read book The Christian Mother written by W. Kramer and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2013-03-21 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE Christian mother has been charged by God with a two-fold mission with respect to her children; namely. the securing to them the nourishment of both soul and body. For if she has been fitted by Nature to give to her children the milk which sustains the life of their bodies, so likewise has she been peculiarly designed by the God of Nature to dispense to them for the nourishment of their souls the rational milk of which the apostle* speaks, and which will make them grow unto salvation. Nor is this latter responsibility less imperative than the former. If she would consider herself derelict of duty to leave her offspring without the nourIshment which sustains their natural and temporal life, still more guilty would she be were she to deprive them of the nourishment which will insure their supernatural and eternal life. And how admirably is she not fitted for this latter mission, of the two the more important and more noble! She is by excellence the teacher of her children. Now we all know that much of the progress of a pupil depends not only on his natural gifts and talents, but also on the degree of confidence inspired by his teacher. But who shares the affection and confidence of the child like the mother? Does he not believe every word she says? And how firmly, therefore, and how deeply may not the Christian mother instil into his young mind those religious truths which will ever remain a pure and wholesome nourishment for his soul, giving it strength to reject the poison of unbelief so temptingly offered to it at some later day. And if the mother be a true Christian-if she show forth in her own life the habit of the virtues which she desires to instil into the hearts of her children-how nobly and how successfully will she fulfil her mission! The child is by nature an imitator. If the model set before him is good, there is reason to hope that the copy will be so likewise. Do mothers realize this? And when later in life they fail to see in their children the Christian virtues of humility, patience, charity, and forgiveness. do they not also fail to trace the absence of these virtues to its true and legitimate cause? Oh! that all mothers would bear in mind that if they desire their children to become true Christians they must present in Their own lives the models of which the children will be the living copies. The object of this little book is to procure this result. May God bless the Christian mothers who read it and profit by it!
