Book The Challenge of Making Aliya to Aretz Israel Because It Was Never Really a Dull Moment

Download or read book The Challenge of Making Aliya to Aretz Israel Because It Was Never Really a Dull Moment written by Clifford Hampson and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2018-03-16 with total page 241 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is projected mainly about Israel, which I sincerely believe would greatly open your eyes with regard to anything you didnt know about this country. I decided to call it the challenge of Aliyah, or emigration, because of the number of challenges or developments that occurred during my seventeen years in the Middle East. There were many periods when the adventures were so pulsating that there was never really a dull or boring moment with little or nothing to do. Not only is this book designed to blow your brains to bits, but this is the novel of novels, which once you pick it up, then you wont be able to put it down until its finished. It should also be clearly stressed that just before I began writing this epic saga, as to the genuine and true spiritual meaning combined with religious/cultural values. My thoughts, in being the second generation from the Nazi Holocaust in Europe are genuine to the core. However, this is not emphasized in any way as being defined like a national or international hero. This situation, I sincerely hope will develop in a positive manner, way beyond into the future: Amen.

Book From a Foreign English Teacher s Point of View in the People s Republic of China

Download or read book From a Foreign English Teacher s Point of View in the People s Republic of China written by Danny Teller and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2018-10-06 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The best way to summarize the main issues is fact-finding, and it should be inclusive of what people need to know about becoming professional in one of the more challenging environments. I took into consideration the paid and voluntary jobs I had in the United Kingdom, Israel, and Nepal before being invited to the Far East. Creating a career out of nearly nothing is nothing short of a miracle. The Chinese people have, in effect, allowed me to (1) create or establish a new home, (2) create a new career, (3) find a soul mate, and (4) finally publish what would be my sixth book. Almost no one helped me perform this duty because each foreign teacher has his or her strategies of teaching. I am, however, truly grateful for my loving wife, Yvonne Wu, for giving me all the assistance and guidance for making this happen. In view of the ever-challenging demands of Chinese students, parents, and bilingual schools, every effort is being made to modify methods to ensure that my classes are as interesting as possible. All my lessons include the use of the modernizing IT equipment, including electronic screens. Your enjoyment in reading is my most profound pleasure.

Book A First Helping of Rice Lentils and Vegetables for All to Share and Care

Download or read book A First Helping of Rice Lentils and Vegetables for All to Share and Care written by Danny Teller and published by Partridge Publishing Singapore. This book was released on 2017-08-15 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Its entirely projected on life in Nepal. It explains the quality and life expectancy. It covers a period of nearly nine months from July 2002 until April 2003. The activities and developments are details that are worth learning about how many people still live as working class in the world but who seek to find a better life. My expectations from a point of view of hospitality were more than fulfilled, and this was mainly due to the way I was treated. The book talks about finding a peaceful way of life regardless of where you are in the world and attempts to find a way to overcome many obstacles, such as money and resources. Probably the last important issue is communicating and treating people with a great deal of respect because there is always someone in the world who is worse off than you.

Book The Mortality and Morality of Nations

Download or read book The Mortality and Morality of Nations written by Uriel Abulof and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2015-07-24 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Standing at the edge of life's abyss, we seek meaningful order. We commonly find this 'symbolic immortality' in religion, civilization, state and nation. What happens, however, when the nation itself appears mortal? The Mortality and Morality of Nations seeks to answer this question, theoretically and empirically. It argues that mortality makes morality, and right makes might; the nation's sense of a looming abyss informs its quest for a higher moral ground, which, if reached, can bolster its vitality. The book investigates nationalism's promise of moral immortality and its limitations via three case studies: French Canadians, Israeli Jews, and Afrikaners. All three have been insecure about the validity of their identity or the viability of their polity, or both. They have sought partial redress in existential self-legitimation: by the nation, of the nation and for the nation's very existence.

Book One People One Blood

Download or read book One People One Blood written by Don Seeman and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2009-08-11 with total page 246 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Little by little, an egg will come to walk upon its own leg." Ethiopian-Israelis fondly quote this bit of Amharic folk wisdom, reflecting upon the slow, difficult history that allowed them to fulfill their destiny far from the Horn of Africa where they were born. But today, along with those Ethiopians who have been recognized as Jews by the State of Israel, many who are called "Feres Mura," the descendants of Ethiopian Jews whose families converted to Christianity but have now reasserted their Jewish identity, still await full acceptance in Israel. Since the 1990s, they have sought homecoming through Israel's "Law of Return," but have been met with reticence and suspicion on a variety of fronts. One People, One Blood expertly documents this tenuous relationship and the challenges facing the Feres Mura. Distilling more than ten years of ethnographic research, Don Seeman depicts the rich culture of the group, as well as their social and cultural vulnerability, and addresses the problems that arise when immigration officials, religious leaders, or academic scholars try to determine the legitimacy of Jewish identity or Jewish religious experience.

Book excerpt: Gershon Shafir challenges the heroic myths about the foundation of the State of Israel by investigating the struggle to control land and labor during the early Zionist enterprise. He argues that it was not the imported Zionist ideas that were responsible for the character of the Israeli state, but the particular conditions of the local conflict between the European "settlers" and the Palestinian Arab population.
