Book excerpt: This book is about The Bubba Effect, the positive influence of using self-examination on the golf course to understand the reasons for mental and physical mistakes and to make corrections before they undermine your psyche and become repetitive. Equally important, the process of becoming better acquainted with Bubba, or yourself, invariably leads not only to better golf, but golf that is more fun and in keeping with the enduring traditions that the Scots and Bobby Jones left us. All the technical and psychological analysis that underlies The Bubba Effect is built around and nestled inside a story about a golf trip - a story with real characters and experiences that is designed to simultaneously educate and entertain. Book Addicted to Outrage

Download or read book Addicted to Outrage written by Glenn Beck and published by Threshold Editions. This book was released on 2019-11-19 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Glenn Beck—author of thirteen #1 New York Times bestsellers—issues a startling challenge to people on both sides of the aisle: America is addicted to outrage, we’re at the height of a twenty-year bender, and we need an intervention. In the instant New York Times bestseller, Glenn Beck addresses how America has become more and more divided—both politically and socially. Americans are now less accepting, less forgiving, and have lost faith in many of the country’s signature ideals. They are quick to point a judgmental finger at the opposing party, are unwilling to doubt their own ideologies, and refuse to have any self-awareness whatsoever. Beck states that this current downward spiral will ultimately lead to the destruction of everything America has fought so hard to preserve. This is not simply a Republican problem. This is not simply a Democratic problem. This is everyone’s burden, and we need to think like recovering addicts and change. Mirroring traditional twelve-step programs, Beck outlines the actions that Americans must follow in order to prevent a farther decline down this current path of hostile bitterness. Drawing from his own life experiences and including relevant examples for each step, he is able to lead us to a more hopeful, happy future. From learning how to believe in something greater than ourselves to understanding the importance of humility, each chapter encourages self-reflection and growth. Addicted to Outrage is a timely and necessary guide for how Americans—right and left—must change to survive.

Book 1984 Redux

    Book Details:
  • Author : Andrew Curtiss
  • Publisher : AuthorHouse
  • Release : 2011
  • ISBN : 1452095086
  • Pages : 566 pages

Download or read book 1984 Redux written by Andrew Curtiss and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011 with total page 566 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: July, 2009; Andrew Curtiss received a Chain Mail in his E-Mail box. The Message was sent to him from a former colleague he served with in the US Army Special Forces at Fort Bragg North Carolina. The subject line of the message read "Congratulations you made the terrorist watch list!" The content suggested that the Department of Homeland Security had labled millions of Americans who are Constitutionalists, Pro Life, of Christian faith, voters for rightwing politics, are combat veterans and more; as potential domestic terrorists. After researching the matter Andrew found that the DHS did infact publish such a report that was meant to be confidential for law enforcement only. The report was published April 7, 2009. It was during Andrew's research into the matter that he realized the "Fundamental Transformation" of America as promised by Barrack Obama was indeed transforming America into something much like Oceania in George Orwell's "1984." 1984 Redux digs deep into the issues facing Americans today as America "Fundamentally Transforms." Curtiss draws the comparison of where Obama and his leftist handlers and drones want to take America as part of this transformation; to the extreme Socialist Oligarchy depicted in Orwell's "1984." Supported by scores of references and facts, one might be surprised to see how close to Orwell's nightmarish depiction America is headed. 1984 Redux is not only a wakeup call to America, but the world; as to what could be if the most influential nation in the world and "last hope for freedom" falls to the left.

Download or read book Debunking Glenn Beck written by Karl Alan Rogers Ph.D. and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 2011-10-20 with total page 245 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Taking the example of Glenn Beck as a media pundit and propagandist, this timely and provocative book shows how mainstream media fails in its duty—and explains what the American people can do about it. Debunking Glenn Beck: How to Save America from Media Pundits and Propagandists was written in response to Beck's Arguing with Idiots. Its most immediate concern is with exploring the agenda behind Beck's arguments and exposing the flaws in his reasoning. But this book's real mission is something much broader. Using Beck as an example, author Karl Rogers also shows why media reform is so vital to the future of democracy. To make that case, Dr. Rogers offers a detailed discussion of the ideas and ideology at work in Beck's arguments, revealing how the well-known conservative pundit has distorted and twisted facts to misrepresent American history, the meaning of progressivism, and even the U.S. Constitution. The book examines topics ranging from the Second Amendment to health care, education, housing, the Supreme Court, unions, democracy, and government. It concludes by explaining how Americans can revitalize the Constitution as a living document and, by doing so, revitalize public debate and democracy itself.

This book was released on 2018-12-04 with total page 465 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How insurgencies—enabled by digital devices and a vast information sphere—have mobilized millions of ordinary people around the world. In the words of economist and scholar Arnold Kling, Martin Gurri saw it coming. Technology has categorically reversed the information balance of power between the public and the elites who manage the great hierarchical institutions of the industrial age: government, political parties, the media. The Revolt of the Public tells the story of how insurgencies, enabled by digital devices and a vast information sphere, have mobilized millions of ordinary people around the world. Originally published in 2014, The Revolt of the Public is now available in an updated edition, which includes an extensive analysis of Donald Trump’s improbable rise to the presidency and the electoral triumphs of Brexit. The book concludes with a speculative look forward, pondering whether the current elite class can bring about a reformation of the democratic process and whether new organizing principles, adapted to a digital world, can arise out of the present political turbulence.

Book The Grace Effect

    Book Details:
  • Author : Larry Alex Taunton
  • Publisher : Thomas Nelson Inc
  • Release : 2011-11-15
  • ISBN : 1595554408
  • Pages : 269 pages

Download or read book The Grace Effect written by Larry Alex Taunton and published by Thomas Nelson Inc. This book was released on 2011-11-15 with total page 269 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Simply defined, the 'grace effect' is an observable phenomenon-that life is demonstrably better where authentic Christianity flourishes." What does Christianity give us beyond televangelists, potlucks, and bad basketball leagues? Not much, according to the secular Left. The world, they say, would be a better place without it. Historian and Christian apologist Larry Taunton has spent much of his career refuting just this sort of thinking, but when he encounters Sasha, a golden-haired Ukranian orphan girl whose life has been shaped by atheistic theorists, he discovers an unlikely champion for the transforming power of grace. Through the narrative of Sasha's redemption, we see the false promises of socialism; the soul-destroying influence of unbelief; and how a society cultivates its own demise when it rejects the ultimate source of grace. We see, in short, the kind of world the atheists would give us: a world without Christianity-cold, pitiless, and graceless. And yet, as Sasha shows us, it is a world that is not beyond the healing power of "the grace effect." Occasionally infuriating, often amusing, but always inspiring, The Grace Effect will have you cheering for the courageous little girl who shamed the academic elitists of our day. "This highly readable book is a collection of powerful insights into the long-term consequences of spiritual indifference and, above all, a remarkable example of how to conquer it." - Dr. Olivera Petrovich, research psychologist, University of Oxford "What would a world without Christianity look like? We don't have to guess because such a world does exist: it exists in the current and former Communist bloc. Through the inspiring story of a little girl born in Eastern Europe and now living in America, Larry Taunton draws a sharp contrast between the life-giving influence of Christianity and the worn out theories of atheism and radical secularism. The effect--The Grace Effect--is nothing less than powerful and moving." -- Dinesh D'Souza, former White House policy analyst, fellow of the Hoover Institute at Stanford University, and current president of Kings College

Book The Butterfly Effect of Grace

Download or read book The Butterfly Effect of Grace written by Rex G. Russell and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2011-08 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For over 25 years, Rex has taught with one simple theme; you matter to God. Somehow we have missed that. The unconditional mercy and grace that flow from the heart of God draws us to Him. Nothing we will ever do, good or bad, would ever cause the heart of God to love us any more or less than he does right now. When that truth soaks in, you and I will be able to live the life that God has called us to live. The smallest of things we do and say, matter deeply to God and to those around us. Grace, extended to others, has a ripple effect. When we step out of our comfort zone and touch the world around us, something happens. Broken-hearted people start to mend. They begin to connect the dots to God. That is a good thing, a very good thing. It can cause a butterfly effect of grace.
