Book Jealousy and the Blindness of Biblical Betrayal The Negative Power of Jealousy in Leadership and Life

Download or read book Jealousy and the Blindness of Biblical Betrayal The Negative Power of Jealousy in Leadership and Life written by II Bishop F. Johnson and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2020-02-16 with total page 116 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In my book, The Blindness of Biblical Betrayal, I cover "imitative rivalry" and the quote by Girard, "We are never more blind than when we are doing violence in the name of God!"While that book was going to print, I noticed in my daily Bible reading that approximately 23 chapters of the Old Testament were devoted to the rivalry of King Saul and David. Why would God devote so many chapters to this one relationship? Perhaps He wants us to see and learn from the jealousy and blinding betrayal of Saul towards David. This book mines those 23 chapters for truths and principles to face jealousy and betrayal.Jealousy and betrayal are common experiences because they are in the fallen DNA of humanity, but what the Devil means for evil, God will use for the good of His people.

Book AMERICA FAILS AS JESUS IS BETRAYED

Download or read book AMERICA FAILS AS JESUS IS BETRAYED written by George Joseph K PhD and published by GOD JESUS PROOF ACADEMY. This book was released on 2016-06-09 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a comprehensive survey of the core issues in rebuilding America and rescuing the world, which the US will have to address with urgency to survive and sustain its democratic and superpower status. Blind leaderships have led America to the destruction of its very foundations. America can afford no more mistakes in the gruesome ideological battle. America might be defeated through the moral decay of its own people. Military will not help. The ideological subversion of USA through the invasion of the Trojan Horses of Yoga and refugees will lead to the democratic demise of the greatest democracy in history. America is confronting a crisis in jurisprudence. Many are legislating for devil and executing national death. Advocating and legalizing ethical perversions like abortion, same sex marriage, bestiality etc. in the name of democracy, freedom and individual rights will reverse American civilization back into Stone Age and Babylonian Captivity. Europe and USA rejected Christian faith and Biblical values. There is selective discrimination against Christian faith. They have rejected the true God Jesus and the true religion of Christian faith and have gone after all kinds of false religions. Thus America is losing the image of God and is shifting to the image of animals via bestiality. So God will soon reject them and punish them. Europe will soon democratically succumb to an antagonistic religious dictatorship and USA will fall in line with. Democracy will be folklore in Europe and USA within the next 30 years. Future generations will curse the irresponsible secular idiocratic leaders who legalize all the evils in the name of freedom. God will replace America with China as the next superpower. But if America repents like Nineveh, it will be a different story. America needs a President who really knows and agrees to the basic values of the nation. America needs a President who knows why and how empires rise and empires fall. Trump is not a leader with a senseless direction but a leader with a sense of direction. He is the David of American politics. Many Goliaths will fall before him, if he is faithful to God and Christian values. Clinton’s support for abortion and same-sex marriage is an index in the wrong direction.

Book excerpt: What if one of the core demands of a radical Christianity lay in a call for its betrayal, while the ultimate act of affirming God required the forsaking of God? And what if fidelity to the Judeo-Christian Scriptures demanded their renunciation? In short, what would it mean if the only way of finding real faith involved betraying it with a kiss? Employing the insights of mysticism and deconstructive theory, The Fidelity of Betrayal delves into the subversive and revolutionary nature of a Christianity that dwells within the church while simultaneously undermining it.

Book The Christian Betrayal of the United States

Download or read book The Christian Betrayal of the United States written by Carl Wells and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-10-22 with total page 255 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Christian Betrayal of the United States theorizes that 100% of the problems of the United States have their root in the conservative, Bible-believing Christian church of this country. Countless books by liberal Christians or by non-Christians, have accused the "Christian right" of being a dangerous segment of our country. Following the principles of the Christian right will lead to tyranny, so the theory goes. The Christian Betrayal of the United States takes a very different tack. According to the author, the Bible-believing Christians have betrayed their country already--by their actions in many distinct arenas of life. Those who have cursed the Bible-believing Christians as being too Christian, have got it exactly backward. They may curse Christians again, when they understand that Christians were not Christian enough. The author, far from being a liberal Christian or a humanist, is a self-professed conservative, Bible-believing Christian. He strives to show how his own people have betrayed their nation. It is a dark story. On the brighter side, the author also tries to grope toward a solution of the problems he and his people have caused.

Book Didymus the Blind and His Circle in Late antique Alexandria

Download or read book Didymus the Blind and His Circle in Late antique Alexandria written by Richard A. Layton and published by University of Illinois Press. This book was released on 2004 with total page 270 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first comprehensive study in the English language of the commentaries of Didymus the Blind, who was revered as the foremost Christian scholar of the fourth century and an influential spiritual director of ascetics. The writings of Didymus were censored and destroyed due to his posthumous condemnation for heresy. This study recovers the uncensored voice of Didymus through the commentaries among the Tura papyri, a massive set of documents discovered in an Egyptian quarry in 1941. This neglected corpus offers an unprecedented glimpse into the internal workings of a Christian philosophical academy in the most vibrant and tumultuous cultural center of late antiquity. By exploring the social context of Christian instruction in the competitive environment of fourth-century Alexandria, Richard A. Layton elucidates the political implications of biblical interpretation. Through detailed analysis of the commentaries on Psalms, Job, and Genesis, the author charts a profound tectonic shift in moral imagination as classical ethical vocabulary becomes indissolubly bound to biblical narrative. Attending to the complex interactions of political competition and intellectual inquiry, this study makes a unique contribution to the cultural history of late antiquity.

We are afraid to be fully known. As a result, we never experience being fully loved. Fierce Marriage authors Ryan and Selena Frederick think your marriage deserves better. In this new, paradigm-shifting book, they show you how to develop a see-through marriage, one that is marked by full transparency and confident vulnerability. Through personal stories, testimonies from other couples, and biblical truth, they make the case that living authentically in front of each other is the only way to experience love the way we were designed to. If you desire an honest, no-holding-back marriage where you are fully known, fully accepted, and fully loved, you need this book.

In Thank You, Judas: How to Beat Betrayal, you will explore Judas’s betrayal of Jesus and learn: • The five behaviors of betrayal: pride, jealousy, operating within an inverted value system, selfishness, and being fake • How to walk in healing and victory after suffering a betrayal • Steps for turning a betrayal into an unforgettable blessing “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28, NIV). No stone is left unturned as Matthew explores profound concepts and answers questions many are afraid to ask, forbidden questions as "Who is my betrayer? How does one identify a betrayer? Am I a betrayer? What are the heart-wrenching questions of betrayal? How should one cope with the sting of betrayal?" From the president to the pauper, from the pastor to the member, this book is related in a manner that we all can identify. Betraying Betrayal transcends the borders of hypocrisy, posturing, and speciousness. It brings to light the dark realities of being betrayed. Having felt the pangs of betrayal himself, Matthew offers hope on how to move from being a victim to becoming the victor who eventually betrays betrayal.

Book A Body Broken A Body Betrayed

Download or read book A Body Broken A Body Betrayed written by Mary McClintock Fulkerson and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2015-10-28 with total page 95 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Race and privilege are issues that cry out for new kinds of attention and healing in American society. More specifically, we are being called to surface the dynamics of whiteness especially in contexts where whites have had the most power in America. The church is one of those contexts--particularly churches that have traditionally been seen as the stalwarts of the American religious landscape: mainline Protestant churches. Theologians and Presbyterian ministers Mary McClintock Fulkerson and Marcia Mount Shoop invite us to acknowledge and address the wounds of race and privilege that continue to harm and diminish the life of the church. Using Eucharist as a template for both the church's blindness and for Christ's redemptive capacity, this book invites faith communities, especially white-dominant churches, into new ways of re-membering what it means to be the body of Christ. In a still racialized society, can the body of Christ truly acknowledge and dress the wounds of race and privilege? Re-membering Christ's broken and betrayed body may be just the healing path we need.
