Book Principles of Three dimensional Design

Download or read book Principles of Three dimensional Design written by Stephen Luecking and published by Pearson. This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text is a thorough introduction to three-dimensional design: the importance of forms and objects in space. It covers the areas of problem solving: form/plane/space relationships. Of equal importance is its unique coverage of functional, cultural, and spatial contexts that condition the meanings we impart in creating objects. Its underlying goal is to provide a practical and theoretical understanding of how objects and the spaces they occupy shape the physical and perceptual nature of our reality.

Book Introduction to Three Dimensional Design

Download or read book Introduction to Three Dimensional Design written by Kimberly Elam and published by Design Brief. This book was released on 2020 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introduction to Three-Dimensional Design provides graphic design students with an often overlooked but essential body of knowledge. It challenges the student to clearly communicate the three-dimensional principles of art and design with intent and meaning through drawings and three-dimensional models. Each of the four projects is carefully crafted and meticulously detailed to focus on the key concepts, from initial sketches through experimental prototypes to the final model solution: "Mask", for example, employs contrast as a means of intensifying communication through juxtaposition, while "Wire Icons" transforms the continuous graphic line from two to three-dimensions to capture volume and space. The book's objective is to enable students to deeply internalize, learn, and understand the elements and principles of three-dimensional design.

Book excerpt: Artists won't believe their eyes as they learn to draw with photorealistic detail. The Art of 3D Drawing shows artists how to transform simple pencil sketches into jaw-dropping, photorealistic masterpieces. Through a variety of step-by-step exercises and demonstrations, pencil artists learn to take their drawing skills to a whole new level, beginning with a review of the basics, including perspective, shading, rendering textures, and building dimension. Practice lessons then demonstrate how to draw a range of subjects in realistic detail, from food and candy wrappers to animals and portraits. Finally, aspiring artists learn to use color media, including pencils and airbrushing, to add even greater dimension and realism to their artwork to complete their three-dimensional masterpieces.

Book Three Dimensional Integrated Circuit Design

Download or read book Three Dimensional Integrated Circuit Design written by Yuan Xie and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2009-12-02 with total page 292 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We live in a time of great change. In the electronics world, the last several decades have seen unprecedented growth and advancement, described by Moore’s law. This observation stated that transistor density in integrated circuits doubles every 1. 5–2 years. This came with the simultaneous improvement of individual device perf- mance as well as the reduction of device power such that the total power of the resulting ICs remained under control. No trend remains constant forever, and this is unfortunately the case with Moore’s law. The trouble began a number of years ago when CMOS devices were no longer able to proceed along the classical scaling trends. Key device parameters such as gate oxide thickness were simply no longer able to scale. As a result, device o- state currents began to creep up at an alarming rate. These continuing problems with classical scaling have led to a leveling off of IC clock speeds to the range of several GHz. Of course, chips can be clocked higher but the thermal issues become unmanageable. This has led to the recent trend toward microprocessors with mul- ple cores, each running at a few GHz at the most. The goal is to continue improving performance via parallelism by adding more and more cores instead of increasing speed. The challenge here is to ensure that general purpose codes can be ef?ciently parallelized. There is another potential solution to the problem of how to improve CMOS technology performance: three-dimensional integrated circuits (3D ICs).
