Download or read book The Ivory Tablets of the Crow written by Warlock Asylum and published by CreateSpace. This book was released on 2013-04-28 with total page 72 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Ivory Tablets of the Crow is the initiatory rite of the Art of Ninzuwu, a spiritual practice said to have originated during the Jomon period, closely associated with the Tengu, Yatagarasu, and Ryujin Shinko (Dragon god faith). During the Jomon period an empire existed, whose boundaries stretched from the Far East into what is known today as ancient Mesopotamia. Traces of this empire can be found in the legends of the continent of Mu and stories about a struggle for what is known as the Tablets of Destinies, which marked the breakdown of this kingdom. The Tablets of Destinies was understood to be “the power of Anu” by the ancient Mesopotamians. It is said by some to be the Yi Jing of Chinese, and an esoteric knowledge of a secret society that was occasionally revealed to mankind by the Tengu and the Yatagarasu. The Ninzuwu, being the keepers of the sacred knowledge, shared this technology with mankind in the mathematical language of dreams and other practices that are closely associated with what is known today as Shinto and Yi Jing Sorcery, which are not separate schools when understood properly, the Cult of Nyarzir. It was by the use of the mathematical language of dreams, that an initiate can interpret and communicate with the same forces that he/she are being influenced by, and what deity that they may call upon for clarity, but also how transmute their own DNA and evolve in being. This is the meaning of the Tablets of Destinies, also known as the Yi Jing.
Download or read book Essentials of Shinto written by Stuart Picken and published by Bloomsbury Publishing USA. This book was released on 1994-11-22 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shinto is finally receiving the attention it deserves as a fundamental component of Japanese culture. Nevertheless, it remains a remarkably complex and elusive phenomenon to which Western categories of religion do not readily apply. A knowledge of Shinto can only proceed from a basic understanding of Japanese shrines and civilization, for it is closely intermingled with the Japanese way of life and continues to be a vital natural religion. This book is a convenient guide to Shinto thought. As a reference work, the volume does not offer a detailed critical study of all aspects of Shinto. Instead, it overviews the essential teachings of Shinto and provides the necessary cultural and historical context for understanding Shinto as a dynamic force in Japanese civilization. The book begins with an historical overview of Shinto, followed by a discussion of Japanese myths. The volume then discusses the role of shrines, which are central to Shinto rituals. Other portions of the book discuss the various Shinto sects and the evolution of Shinto from the Heian period to the present. Because Japanese terms are central to Shinto, the work includes a glossary.

Download or read book Eccentric Spaces Hidden Histories written by David Bialock and published by Stanford University Press. This book was released on 2007-02-01 with total page 502 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After The Tale of Genji (c. 1000), the greatest work of classical Japanese literature is the historical narrative The Tale of the Heike (13th-14th centuries). In addition to opening up fresh perspectives on the Heike narratives, this study also draws attention to a range of problems centered on the interrelationship between narrative, ritual space, and Japan's changing views of China as they bear on depictions of the emperor's authority, warriors, and marginal population going all the way back to the Nara period. By situating the Heike in this long temporal framework, the author sheds light on a hidden history of royal authority that was entangled in Daoist and yin-yang ideas in the Nara period, practices centered on defilement in the Heian period, and Buddhist doctrines pertaining to original enlightenment in the medieval period, all of which resurface and combine in Heike's narrative world. In introducing for the first time the full range of Heike narrative to students and scholars of Japanese literature, the author argues that we must also reexamine our understanding of the literature, ritual, and culture of the Heian and Nara periods.
