Because Hidden Lake lies within the boundaries of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge (KNWR), the project is subject to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) oversight and guiding principles. In an effort to ensure that the project remains compatible with the KNWR mission, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game conducts monitoring projects and submits an annual summary to the USFWS. This report contains the results of the 2007 project year.

In an effort to ensure that the project remains compatible with the KNWR mission, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF & G) conducts monitoring projects and submits an annual summary to the USFWS. As required in the Spiridon Lake Management Plan (SLMP), ADF & G monitored and examined specific water quality parameters, zooplankton characteristics, smolt outmigrations, stocking numbers and commercial salmon harvests in 2005. Specific parameters were evaluated and compared to criteria established as guidelines for the stocking project to ensure that the project does not adversely affect the Spiridon Lake system. This report discusses the data collected during the project.
