This book was released on 2008-02-01 with total page 275 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. This book by Dr. Salatiel P. López introduces us to the thought of Juan Calvino in a deep and enjoyable manner. It makes the reader understand that all of us, like Calvin, "are affected by forces and historical circumstances that influence our personal, intellectual and spiritual development in a meaningful way. In addition to those individual characteristics that distinguish us from other people, and in addition to those singular providential factors that God works in a specific way in our lives, we receive the impact and influence of factors, circumstances and people of the era in which we live. And these elements contribute to mold our existence, our character, and our way of thinking."

Download or read book S pero no La poes a de B cquer written by Giannina Braschi and published by Costa-Amic Editores. This book was released on 2022-05-27 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Knowledge of the Pragmatici written by and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2020-03-31 with total page 396 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge of the pragmatici sheds new light on pragmatic normative literature (mainly from the religious sphere), a genre crucial for the formation of normative orders in early modern Ibero-America. Long underrated by legal historical scholarship, these media – manuals for confessors, catechisms, and moral theological literature – selected and localised normative knowledge for the colonial worlds and thus shaped the language of normativity. The eleven chapters of this book explore the circulation and the uses of pragmatic normative texts in the Iberian peninsula, in New Spain, Peru, New Granada and Brazil. The book reveals the functions and intellectual achievements of pragmatic literature, which condensed normative knowledge, drawing on medieval scholarly practices of ‘epitomisation’, and links the genre with early modern legal culture. Download or read book Interrogating the Relations between Migration and Education in the South written by Ligia (Licho) López López and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2021-11-29 with total page 188 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Adopting a uniquely critical lens, this volume analyzes the relationship between forced migration, the migrations of people, and subsequent impacts on education. In doing so, it challenges Euro-modern and colonial notions of what it means to move across 'borders'. Using Abiayala and its diasporas as theory and context, this volume critiques dominant colonial attitudes and discourses towards migration and education and suggests alternatives for understanding how culturally grounded pedagogies and curricula can support migrating youth and society more broadly. Chapters use case studies and first-hand accounts such as testimonios from a variety of countries in the Global South, and discuss the lived experiences of Afro-Colombian, Haitian, and Indigenous youth, among others, to challenge the rigid disciplinary borders upheld by Euro-modern epistemologies. This text will benefit researchers, academics, and educators with an interest in international and comparative education, multicultural education, and Latin American and Caribbean studies more broadly. Those specifically interested in anticolonial education, diaspora studies, and educational policy and politics will also benefit from this book.
Download or read book Sex and the Sexual during People s Leisure and Tourism Experiences written by Neil Carr and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2010-05-11 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sex and the sexual have for far too long been consigned to the dark corners by social scientists in general and tourism and leisure scholars in particular. Sex and the Sexual During People’s Leisure and Tourism Experiences seeks to begin to rectify this situation by bringing the position and nature of sex and the sexual into the light of academic debate. As such, this book is designed to highlight cross-disciplinary emerging work on sex and the sexual in leisure and tourism and provide the readers with insights into this social realm. It encompasses a broad array of sex-related issues and tourism and leisure environments from across a variety of countries. The book should appeal to researchers and students across the humanities and social sciences both for the value of the research in its own right and the ability of it to be used as a lens through which to view the position of sex and the sexual as well as tourism and leisure in today's world. Overall, it is argued that sex and the sexual should play a part in the academic discourse, especially if we wish to describe what is actually happening out there as far as tourism and leisure are concerned.
Download or read book Why Resurrection written by Carlos Blanco and published by Lutterworth Press. This book was released on 2011-09-29 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Few questions exert such a great fascination on human conscience as those related to the meaning of life, history, and death. The belief in the resurrection of the dead constitutes an answer to a real challenge: What is the meaning of life and history in the midst of a world in which evil, injustice, and ultimately death exist? This book seeks to understand the idea of resurrection not only as a theological but also as a philosophical category (as expression of the collective aspirations of humanity), combining historical, theological, and philosophical analyses in dialogue with some of the principal streams of contemporary Western thought.
Download or read book The Greater Maghreb written by David Garcia Cantalapiedra and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2019-09-18 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book represents a different approach in the study of the Sahel region in North Africa. Due to the hybrid security threats sweeping across the area, the whole region becomes a new security complex different from Middle East and more related to Western and Central Africa developments, including the impact of drug-trafficking coming from Latin America. This book discusses how the Transnational Organized Crime-Terrorism Nexus has created a very different dynamics from Middle East’s, hitting hard to people, societies and states there. The contributors argue that the countries in the area and the European Union should recognize this new complex and respond properly and differently to this situation.
