Book Hypersonic Missile Nonproliferation

Download or read book Hypersonic Missile Nonproliferation written by Richard H. Speier and published by Rand Corporation. This book was released on 2017 with total page 155 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Hypersonic missiles--specifically hypersonic glide vehicles and hypersonic cruise missiles--are a new class of threat because they are capable both of maneuvering and of flying faster than 5,000 kilometers per hour. These features enable such missiles to penetrate most missile defenses and to further compress the timelines for a response by a nation under attack. Hypersonic missiles are being developed by the United States, Russia, and China. Their proliferation beyond these three could result in other powers setting their strategic forces on hair-trigger states of readiness. And such proliferation could enable other powers to more credibly threaten attacks on major powers. The diffusion of hypersonic technology is under way in Europe, Japan, Australia, and India--with other nations beginning to explore such technology. Proliferation could cross multiple borders if hypersonic technology is offered on world markets. There is probably less than a decade available to substantially hinder the potential proliferation of hypersonic missiles and associated technologies. To this end, the report recommends that (1) the United States, Russia, and China should agree not to export complete hypersonic missile systems or their major components and (2) the broader international community should establish controls on a wider range of hypersonic missile hardware and technology.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 2019 Missile Defense Review - January 2019 According to a senior administration official, a number of new technologies are highlighted in the report. The review looks at "the comprehensive environment the United States faces, and our allies and partners face. It does posture forces to be prepared for capabilities that currently exist and that we anticipate in the future." The report calls for major investments from both new technologies and existing systems. This is a very important and insightful report because many of the cost assessments for these technologies in the past, which concluded they were too expensive, are no longer applicable. Book The North American High Tory Tradition

Download or read book The North American High Tory Tradition written by Ron Dart and published by . This book was released on 2016-06-23 with total page 337 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A significant struggle began in the year 1776 over the fate of a continent, and there are those who believe that this struggle ended in the year 1783, with the ancient ways of the Old World being given over entirely to those of a New. Is it true, however, that the end of what has been called 'The First American Civil' saw the complete victory of the republican way, and the banishment of the older Tory tradition from these shores? The North American High Tory Tradition tells another story, one in which a different vision for life in North America emerges from the cold of the True North where its flame has been kept burning until the present day. George Grant (1918-1988), the most influential High Tory intellectual of the 20th century, warned us in his Lament for a Nation of the collision course which lies ahead for these two different 'North Americas'?---that embodied in the Dominion of the North, and that in the Republic to its South. Is the disappearance of the Tory alternative an inevitable fate to our future as 'North Americans'? In The North American High Tory Tradition Ron Dart shines light upon the classical lineage, deep wisdom and enduring nature of the High Tory tradition as it has been planted and grown in the soil of North America, and in doing so reveals how Canada may serve as a north star to lead North Americans to a different destiny than that planned for them by a certain few in 1776.

Book The New START Treaty

    Book Details:
  • Author : Amy F. Woolf
  • Publisher : Createspace Independent Publishing Platform
  • Release : 2017-10-24
  • ISBN : 9781979078771
  • Pages : 44 pages

Download or read book The New START Treaty written by Amy F. Woolf and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2017-10-24 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Obama Administration and outside analysts argued that New START strengthens strategic stability and enhances U.S. national security. Critics, however, questioned whether the treaty serves U.S. national security interests, as Russia was likely to reduce its forces with or without an arms control agreement and because the United States and Russia no longer need arms control treaties to manage their relationship. While the Trump Administration has not offered an official assessment of the treaty, Secretary of State-designate Tillerson offered support during his confirmation hearings, noting that he supports the long-standing bipartisan policy of engaging with Russia and other nuclear arms states to verifiably reduce nuclear stockpiles and that it is important for the United States to stay engaged with Russia [and] hold them accountable to commitments made under the New START.

Book Generation Identity

Download or read book Generation Identity written by Markus Willinger and published by Arktos. This book was released on 2013 with total page 106 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The denial of the European peoples' right to their own heritage, history and even their physical homelands has become part of the cultural fundament of the modern West. Mass immigration, selective and vilifying propaganda, and a constant barrage of perverse or, at best, pointless consumer culture all contribute to the transformation of Europe into a non-entity. Her native population consists mostly of atomistic individuals, lacking any semblance of purpose or direction, increasingly victimised by a political system with no interest in the people it governs. There are many views on how this came to be, but the revolt of May 1968 was certainly of singular importance in creating the apolitical, self-destructive situation that postmodern Europe is in today. This book presents the author's take on the ideology of the budding identitarian movement. Willinger presents a crystal-clear image of what has gone wrong, and indicates the direction in which we should look for our solutions. Moving seamlessly between the spheres of radical politics and existential philosophy, Generation Identity explains in a succinct, yet poetic fashion what young Europeans must say - or should say - to the corrupt representatives of the decrepit social structures dominating our continent. This is not a manifesto, it is a declaration of war.

Book The Age of Illusion

    Book Details:
  • Author : Dr Ronald Blythe
  • Publisher : Faber & Faber
  • Release : 2014-06-19
  • ISBN : 0571309488
  • Pages : 239 pages

Download or read book The Age of Illusion written by Dr Ronald Blythe and published by Faber & Faber. This book was released on 2014-06-19 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this brilliant reconstruction of life in England between the two world wars, Ronald Blythe highlights a number of key episodes and personalities which typify the flavour of those two extraordinary decades. He begins with the burial in Westminster Abbey of the Unknown Soldier. This was nearly two years after the last shot had been fired in battle and the near-delirium of 1919 - a boom year though few families were out of mourning - was giving way to the uneasy realization that the world was still far from being a place fit for heroes to live in. The period abounded with colourful figures whose idiosyncrasies Ronald Blythe relishes. The absurd Joynson-Hicks cleaning up London's morals while defending General Dyer shooting down nearly 400 Indians at Amritsar; Mrs Meyrick, the night-club queen of London, being regularly raided at the famous '43'; John Reith putting the B. B.C. on its feet and the public in its place; and headline stealers such as Amy Johnson and T. E. Lawrence. Behind this garish facade, the author shows the new writers emerging at the turn of the decade from their embarrassingly middle-class backgrounds and traces the birth of Britain's first radical intelligentsia. The popular front, the cartoonist David Low's Colonel Blimp and the Left Book Club characterise the much-changed political climate of the 1930s. There, dealing with Jarrow, the Spanish Civil War and Munich, Ronald Blythe show his capacity for writing with an urgency no less effective for its restraint. Coupled with the delightful astringency he brings to such rather less weighty matters as the Brighton trunk murders and the Rector of Stiffkey's remarkable capers, Ronald Blythe demonstrated in this early book his impressive gifts as a social historian.

Book Money Power

Download or read book Money Power written by Isac Boman and published by . This book was released on 2016-11-27 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on a thesis at Abo Akademi University, Money Power: A Force for Freedom or Slavery?, is a bold and original contribution to a field which is commonly misperceived as nearly self-evident and unproblematic within mainstream economics. Its core argument is revolutionary in several regards. First, it presents innovative perspectives on money as a general phenomenon. Second, it exposes the hidden realm of the banking sector. Third, it illuminates possibilities for alternative monetary systems in contrast to the current monolithic monetary culture. The book is written in a remarkable style, especially given that economic science is pervaded by some of the oldest and most conventional vocabularies to be found within any field. The text flows smoothly and at times has the feel of reading a detective novel.

Book Witches Feminism and the Fall of the West

Download or read book Witches Feminism and the Fall of the West written by Edward Dutton and published by Radix. This book was released on 2021-08-10 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The archetype of the "witch" is burnt deep into the European psyche, recurring again and again in folklore and fairytales. But is she merely the stuff of fantasy? Roald Dahl warned that witches don't always don black hats and ride on broom sticks. They "dress in ordinary clothes, and look very much like ordinary women. . . . That is why they are so hard to catch." In Witches, Feminism and the Fall of the West, Edward Dutton examines the history of witches and witch-hunting in light of evolutionary psychology. Throughout the centuries, witches were ostracized across Europe and often condemned and executed for sorcery and harming children. They generally adhered to a type: witches were low-status, anti-social, and childless, and their very presence was viewed as poisonous to the community. Dutton demonstrates that witches did, in their way, represent a maladaptive mentality and behavior, which undermined Europe's patriarchal system. When times got tough-that is, when Europe got poorer or colder-the witches were persecuted with a vengeance. Today, the evolutionary situation has been turned on its head. The intense selection pressures of the past have been overcome by the Industrial Revolution and its technological marvels. Modern witches survive and thrive in the postmodern West, still possessed by the motivations and dispositions of their sisters of yore. "Sorcery" (nihilism and self-hatred) is no longer taboo but has become a high-status ideology. Roald Dahl was all-too correct. Witches do exist, and they mean to do us harm.

Book Radical Classicism

    Book Details:
  • Author : David Watkin
  • Publisher : Rizzoli International Publications
  • Release : 2006
  • ISBN :
  • Pages : 262 pages

Download or read book Radical Classicism written by David Watkin and published by Rizzoli International Publications. This book was released on 2006 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Quinlan Terry is at home in every traditional style, from Classical Greek to Roman, Gothic to Renaissance, and Baroque to Neoclassical. And yet, though linked with a long tradition, his work is, for its innovation and invention, inescapably modern. In contradistinction to the "signature buildings" by which leading Modernist architects come to be known - buildings frequently to be marked for their structural weaknesses and impractibility, for their immediate glamour and subsequent physical deterioration - Terry's work stands as an elegant and powerful argument for an architecutre built to last centuries."--BOOK JACKET.
