Download or read book Fluorine containing Amino Acids written by Valery P. Kukhar and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 1995-04-06 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In recent years, organo-fluorine chemistry has made a marked impact on the design and synthesis of a large variety of biologically active molecules, such as steroids, carbohydrates, amines, amino acids, peptides and other natural products. Naturally occurring amino acids play a pivotal role in living systems, and therefore synthetic fluorine-containing amino acids have been of significant interest to researchers working towards the understanding and modification of physiological processes. Fluorine-containing Amino Acids: is the first volume devoted to the synthesis and properties of fluorine-containing amino acids pays special attention to the preparation of enantiomerically pure acids (which are essential to the modern pharmaceutical industry) deals with a rapidly expanding field of research has been written by experienced researchers who are responsible for many developments in the field highlights the interdisciplinary nature of this topic Fluorine-containing Amino Acids is the only dedicated reference in this subject and will be essential for researchers in synthetic organic, peptide, natural product, and medicinal chemistry and biochemistry.

Download or read book Glioma written by Ibrahim Omerhodzic and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2019-01-16 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The past three decades have been marked with huge enthusiasm from scientists and professionals in an effort to find a cure for glioma disease. Methods to confirm the kinds and grades of glioma have taken a path from classical macro- to microscopic pathohystological confirmation of tumors, through morphological-histological, molecular, and genetic diagnosis. Surgically, progress was made possible with the development and use of technological aids, for example neuronavigation, cortical mapping, electrocorticography, neuromonitoring, functional and intraoperative MRI, magnetoencephalography, etc. Great hope was placed on the extension of tumor resection and popular supratotal resection. Significant progress has been made generally in glioma treatment with the use of modern radiotherapy and new chemotherapeutics. What do we want to see for the future? By way of stem cells, a specific medicine will be produced, individualized for the particular patient, and by using a microcapsule it will be implanted into the brain zone affected by the tumor by way of robot surgery and injection needle. This is not at all an unrealistic expectation in the next decade or two.
Download or read book Late Stage Fluorination of Bioactive Molecules and Biologically Relevant Substrates written by Al Postigo and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2018-09-10 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Late-Stage Fluorination of Bioactive Molecules and Biologically-Relevant Substrates reviews how the use of these techniques on compounds with already known and relevant biological activity can provide new pharmaceutical leads with improved medicinal properties. The fluorination strategies discussed take into account both conventional and novel reagents, including nucleophilic, electrophilic, those of a radical nature, and diverse families of organic compounds, such as (hetero) aromatic rings and aliphatic substrates. Drawing on the authors' expert knowledge, this book provides researchers with a broad set of applicable methods to use in their work.
Download or read book Enzymatic and Chemical Synthesis of Nucleic Acid Derivatives written by Jesús Fernández Lucas and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-04-29 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A review of innovative tools for creative nucleic acid chemists that open the door to novel probes and therapeutic agents Nucleic acids continue to gain importance as novel diagnostic and therapeutic agents. With contributions from noted scientists and scholars, Enzymatic and Chemical Synthesis of Nucleic Acid Derivatives is a practical reference that includes a wide range of approaches for the synthesis of designer nucleic acids and their derivatives. The book covers enzymatic (including chemo-enzymatic) methods, with a focus on the synthesis and incorporation of modified nucleosides. The authors also offer a review of innovative approaches for the non-enzymatic chemical synthesis of nucleic acids and their analogs and derivatives, highlighting especially challenging species. The book offers a concise review of the methods that prepare novel and heavily modified polynucleotides in sufficient amount and purity for most clinical and research applications. This important book: -Presents a timely and topical guide to the synthesis of designer nucleic acids and their derivatives -Addresses the growing market for nucleotide-derived pharmaceuticals used as anti-infectives and chemotherapeutic agents, as well as fungicides and other agrochemicals. -Covers novel methods and the most recent trends in the field -Contains contributions from an international panel of noted scientistics Written for biochemists, medicinal chemists, natural products chemists, organic chemists, and biotechnologists, Enzymatic and Chemical Synthesis of Nucleic Acid Derivatives is a practice-oriented guide that reviews innovative methods for the enzymatic as well as non-enzymatic synthesis of nucleic acid species.

Download or read book Synthesis and Characterization of Glycosides written by Marco Brito-Arias and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-03-12 with total page 362 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book contains the best known approaches for preparing the main types of glycosides in a short and comprehensive study. It also includes synthetic pathways of challenging glycosides known as antiviral or antineoplasic drugs, or synthetic substrates used for enzymatic detection including those used as substrates for detection of gene markers in plant biotechnology. Special attention is made on the structural characterization, providing the basic tools for the structural assignment through NMR, X-Ray and mass spectra techniques. Some of the chapters cover strategies for preparation of antiviral and antineoplasic drugs included in a drug design course.
