Download or read book Hyperfocus written by Ron Travis Sr. and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-03 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2009, Ron and June worked with their oldest grandson, Trey, to add structure into his life that would allow him to control the negative characteristics of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) including distractibility, inattention, impulsivity, and restlessness. While researching ADD, Ron was introduced to the positive characteristic of, "HYPERFOCUS". This allows people with ADD to focus intently, with passion, creativity, and enthusiasm on things they are interested in. Ron also realized that the tools and structure he has spent his entire career teaching to others were all based on the same principles needed by people with ADD. They require permanent structure, and perhaps medication, to overcome the negative characteristics and benefit from the positive characteristic of Hyperfocus and creativity: Setting long-term goals for 15-years out. Breaking these goals down into 3-year increments. Setting goals for the current year by months. Preparing a calendar for the current month. Preparing a "To Do" list for what has to be done today. Becoming motivated and focused on the "To Do" list, in order of priority, knowing that you will be successful in reaching your life goals and dreams.

Book excerpt: The 21st century is now almost upon us and, whilst this represents a somewhat artificial boundary, it provides an opportunity for reflection upon the changes, and the accelerating pace of change, in our social, economic, and natural environments. These changes and their effects are profound, not least in terms of access to information and communication technologies, at once global in effect and manifest locally. These changes and their consequent demands are reflected in the theme of this volume: Synergy Matters, proceedings from the 6th UK Systems Society International Conference.
Download or read book Management Control Theory written by A.J. Berry and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-05-23 with total page 525 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First published in 1998, this volume of readings provides an overview of the development of the study of Management Control theory over the past 35 years. The period encompasses the publication of a major and seminal text by Anthony and Dearden in 1965, which acted as a touchstone in defining the range and scope of management control systems. This laid management control’s foundations in accounting-based mechanisms of control, an element which has been seen as both a strength and a constraint. A good deal of work has followed, providing both a development of the tradition as well as a critique. In this volume we attempt to provide a range of readings which will illustrate the variety of possibilities that are available to researchers, scholars and practitioners in the area. The readings illustrate the view that sees control as goal directed and integrative. They go on to explore the idea of control as adaption, consider its relationship with social structure and survey the effects of the interplay between the organisation and the environment. The essays included are not intended to lead the reader through a well-ordered argument which concludes with a well reasoned view of how management control should be. Instead it seeks to illustrate the many questions which have been posed but not answered and to open up agendas for future research.

Guidance on risk analysis of operations combines evaluation of process control, stability, capability, verification, validation, specification, product reliability, serial dependence, and more, providing a robust framework with which to target large-scale nonconforming products and services. Relevant to anyone involved in business, manufacturing, service, and control, this book: Covers process liability and operations management from both engineering and legal perspectives Offers analyses that present novel uses of traditional engineering methods concerning risk and product quality and reliability Takes a rigorous approach to system tactics and constraints related to product and service operations and identifies dysfunctional processes Offers both prescriptive and descriptive solutions to both the plaintiff and the defendant The global economy has created an environment in which huge production volume, complex data bases, and multiple dispersed suppliers greatly challenge industrial operations. This informative guide provides a practical blueprint for uncovering problematic process failures.

Download or read book International Synergy Management A Strategic Approach for Raising Efficiencies in the Cross border Interaction Process written by Patrick Daum and published by Anchor Academic Publishing (aap_verlag). This book was released on 2013-05-17 with total page 101 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Global economic integration has changed business conditions significantly. Corporations operating internationally and establishing foreign subsidiaries are facing the obligation as well as the challenge to profit from cross-border interaction. However, potential synergetic benefits provided by the international environment are accompanied by even more demanding challenges. This study elaborates to which extend German small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses could benefit from the implementation of a strategic cross-border synergy management. The study is based on a single case study deriving the research hypotheses and a survey investigating cross-border interaction throughout a sample of small and medium-sized manufacturing businesses. Based on the research findings, this paper proposes a holistic framework, designed for strategists of small and medium-sized manufacturing business. It outlines the establishment of the cross-border synergy management concept as part of the corporate strategy and the efficient and effective management of international interaction. 'Synergies are not realized by themselves - they have to be identified and actively developed within a professionally coordinate process. Management of synergy seeking organizations is asked for intensive efforts beyond daily operations' (Weber and Roventa, 2006).

Download or read book Digital Personality written by Kuldeep Singh Kaswan and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2024-08-30 with total page 440 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A computer that imbibes human characteristics is considered to have a digital personality. The character is akin to real-life human with his/her distinguishing characteristics such as history, morality, beliefs, abilities, looks, and sociocultural embeddings. It also contains stable personality characteristics; fluctuating emotional, cognitive, SOAR technology, and motivational states. Digital Personality focuses on the creation of systems and interfaces that can observe, sense, predict, adapt to, affect, comprehend, or simulate the following: character based on behavior and situation, behavior based on character and situation, or situation based on character and behavior. Character sensing and profiling, character-aware adaptive systems, and artificial characters are the three primary subfields in digital personality. Digital Personality has attracted the interest of academics from a wide range of disciplines, including psychology, human-computer interaction, and character modeling. It is expected to expand quickly as technology and computer systems become more and more intertwined into our daily lives. Digital Personality is expected to draw at least as much attention as Affective Computing. The goal of affective computing is to enable computers to comprehend both spoken and nonverbal messages from people, use implicit body language, gaze, speech tones, and facial expressions, etc. to infer the emotional state and then reply appropriately or even show affect through interaction modalities. More natural and seamless human-computer connection would be the larger objective. Users will benefit from a more individualized experience as a result. Additionally, this will affect how well the user performs since they will have the assistance of the robots to do their jobs quickly and effectively. This book provides an overview of the character dimensions and how technology is aiding this area of study. It offers a fresh portrayal of character from several angles. It also discusses the applications of this new field of study.

Many experts in various fields from China and around the world gather together at the conference to review, exchange, summarize and promote their achievements in the fields of industrial engineering and engineering management. For example, some experts pay special attention to the current state of the application of related techniques in China as well as their future prospects, such as green product design, quality control and management, supply chain and logistics management to address the need for, amongst other things low-carbon, energy-saving and emission-reduction. They also offer opinions on the outlook for the development of related techniques. The proceedings offers impressive methods and concrete applications for experts from colleges and universities, research institutions and enterprises who are engaged in theoretical research into industrial engineering and engineering management and its applications. As all the papers are of great value from both an academic and a practical point of view, they also provide research data for international scholars who are investigating Chinese style enterprises and engineering management.
