Book Sustainability and transformation plans and partnerships

Download or read book Sustainability and transformation plans and partnerships written by Lewis Pickett and published by . This book was released on 2017 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NHS sustainability and transformation partnerships are a mechanism for delivering the NHS Five Year Forward View (5YFV) and other national priorities for the NHS in England. The 5YFV, published in October 2014, was a collective vision for how the health service needed to change between 2015/16 and 2020/21. Forty-four sustainability and transformation partnerships now exist covering the whole of England, although they vary considerably in the size of the area they cover and the populations they serve. Each of the forty-four footprints are separate partnerships made up of NHS organisations, including clinical commissioning groups (CCGs), NHS trusts and foundation trusts and primary care services, as well as local authorities. This House of Commons Library briefing covers the context in which STPs have been developed, their funding and accountability arrangements as well as their progress so far. A key role of these partnerships was the creation of local blueprints for delivering the 5 ...

Book Green Healthcare Institutions

Download or read book Green Healthcare Institutions written by Institute of Medicine and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2007-06-14 with total page 128 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Green Healthcare Institutions : Health, Environment, and Economics, Workshop Summary is based on the ninth workshop in a series of workshops sponsored by the Roundtable on Environmental Health Sciences, Research, and Medicine since the roundtable began meeting in 1998. When choosing workshops and activities, the roundtable looks for areas of mutual concern and also areas that need further research to develop a strong environmental science background. This workshop focused on the environmental and health impacts related to the design, construction, and operations of healthcare facilities, which are part of one of the largest service industries in the United States. Healthcare institutions are major employers with a considerable role in the community, and it is important to analyze this significant industry. The environment of healthcare facilities is unique; it has multiple stakeholders on both sides, as the givers and the receivers of care. In order to provide optimal care, more research is needed to determine the impacts of the built environment on human health. The scientific evidence for embarking on a green building agenda is not complete, and at present, scientists have limited information. Green Healthcare Institutions : Health, Environment, and Economics, Workshop Summary captures the discussions and presentations by the speakers and participants; they identified the areas in which additional research is needed, the processes by which change can occur, and the gaps in knowledge.

Book Sustainability and transformation partnerships in London

Download or read book Sustainability and transformation partnerships in London written by Matthew Kershaw and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: - The development of sustainability and transformation plans (STPs) is central to the NHS policy agenda, and it is expected that they will continue to play an increasingly prominent role in planning services and managing resources around places and populations. - Londons health and care system differs from systems in other parts of England because of its size, diverse population and the presence of major teaching hospitals with national and international roles. - Place-based working in London needs to reflect these distinctive characteristics as well as the organisational complexity of the NHS and the contribution of local authorities. - Many of the ambitions set out in Londons STPs are being delivered at the level of neighbourhoods and boroughs and across boroughs, building on established and developing collaborations between the NHS, local authorities and others. - STPs have a role in tackling issues that lend themselves to action across bigger geographical footprints, such as ...

Book The Sustainability and Spread of Organizational Change

Download or read book The Sustainability and Spread of Organizational Change written by David A. Buchanan and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2006-12-05 with total page 365 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This important book examines issues affecting the sustainability and spread of new working practices. The question of why good ideas do not spread, ‘the best practices puzzle’, has been widely recognized. But the ‘improvement evaporation effect’, where successful changes are discontinued, has attracted less attention. Keeping things the way they are has been seen as an organizational problem to be resolved, not a condition to be achieved. This is one of the first major studies of the sustainability of change focusing on the example of the NHS, by a unique team of health service and academic researchers. The findings may apply to a variety of other settings. The agenda set out in 2000 in The NHS Plan is perhaps the largest organization development programme ever undertaken, in any sector, anywhere. The NHS thus offers a valuable ‘living laboratory’ for the study of change. This text shows that sustainability and spread are influenced by a range of issues - contextual, managerial, political, individual, and temporal. Developing a processual perspective, this fresh analysis considers policy implications, and strategies for managing sustainability and spread. This book will be essential reading for students, managers, and researchers concerned with the effective implementation of organizational change.

Download or read book Engaging local people written by NHS England and published by . This book was released on 2016 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This document, set out in the form of questions and answers, is for teams developing Sustainability and Transformation Plans (STPs) in each of the 44 footprint areas, and the statutory organisations which form part of them. Local statutory bodies are responsible for engaging and consulting on their proposals, and the relevant legal duties around engagement and consultation are set out in section 4 and Annex A. It is intended to clarify the expectations on stakeholder involvement, in particular patient and public participation. It will be of particular interest to communication and engagement leads for STPs and footprint leaders. While the emphasis of this document is on patient and public participation, it is important that as part of their planning processes, those working to deliver STPs consider how they will engage with the governance structures of each of the constituent organisations across their footprint area.
