The District South of French Broad & Holston consisted of all of Blount County, almost all of Sevier County, except the tip above the French Broad River, the part of Cocke County west of the Big Pigeon River, the part of Knox County south of the French Broad River, the part of Jefferson County south of the French Broad River. Each abstract contains the person for whom the survey was made, number of acres, location of land, neighbors, entry number, date of entry, date of survey, and chain carriers, usually family members or neighbors who assisted the surveyor.
