Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: They are the lone wolves of the battlefield. Tracking the enemy, lying in wait for the target to appear—then they shoot to kill. Armed with an unerring eye, infinite patience and a mastery of camouflage, combat snipers stalk the enemy with only one goal... In World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Beirut, American snipers honed the art of delivering a single deadly shot from nowhere—and devastating enemy morale. They met the enemy on his own turf, picking off officers, unwary soldiers, and even other snipers from extraordinary distances of up to 1 ½ miles. Now, these uncommon men tell their stories: of the emotions felt when a man's face came into their crosshairs and they pulled the trigger, of the nerve-wracking hours and days of waiting, motionless, for the enemy, of the primal savagery of a sniper duel. Often trained haphazardly in wartime, and forgotten in times of peace, combat snipers were officially recognized after the Vietnam War, when the Marine Corps became the first military branch to start a full-time sniper school. One Shot-One Kill is their powerful record of desperate trials and proud victories.

Book A Three Dimensional Approach To Forex Trading

Download or read book A Three Dimensional Approach To Forex Trading written by Anna Coulling and published by Marinablu International Ltd. This book was released on 2024-02-06 with total page 689 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is this book for me? If you aspire to become a full-time forex trader, then this is the book for you. Even if your dream is perhaps more modest, and you simply want a second income trading the forex markets, this book is for you. What will I learn? It has been written with one clear objective. To explain how and why the currency markets move in the way they do. Namely, the forces, the factors, and the manipulators. Many aspiring traders simply do not realize that the forex market sits at the heart of the financial world, which, when you think about it logically, is common sense. This is the biggest money market in the world, and if the financial markets are about one thing, they are about money. Making it, protecting it, or increasing the return. It’s no surprise, therefore, that the forex market connects all the others. Put simply, the forex market is the ultimate barometer of risk. How will it help me? First, you will discover how changes in market sentiment in the primary markets of commodities, stocks, bonds, and equities are reflected in the currency markets. This is something that often surprises novice traders. After all, why look at a stock index, or the price of gold, or a bond market? The answer is very simple. It is in these markets that you will find all the clues and signals, which then reveal money flow. After reading the book, you will be one of those enlightened traders who truly understand money flow and risk, and your confidence as a trader will grow exponentially as a result. Here are some more reasons.... Long gone are the days when currency pairs meandered higher and lower in long-term trends, driven by interest rate differentials. To take advantage, you need to understand the forces which now drive the markets. A Three Dimensional Approach To Forex Trading will empower you with knowledge. Knowledge and confidence go hand in hand. Confidence breeds success, and success breeds money, which will flow from reading the book.

Book Labor Market Implications of Switching the Currency Peg in a General Equilibrium Model for Lithuania

Download or read book Labor Market Implications of Switching the Currency Peg in a General Equilibrium Model for Lithuania written by Lodovico Pizzati and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2002 with total page 30 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On February 2, 2002, Lithuania switched its currency anchor from the dollar to the euro. While pegging to the dollar (since April 1994) has proven successful throughout the transition years, the recent decision to peg to the euro was motivated by the increasing trade relations with European economies. Pizzati does not argue which peg is more appropriate, but he analyzes the implications of changing the exchange rate regime for different sectors and labor groups.

Book Road to Lithium Lodge

Download or read book Road to Lithium Lodge written by George Henry Nolan and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-12-12 with total page 591 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a story of George Henry Nolan spanning four decades between 1920 and 1960. His eldest brother Joe had controlled the family purse strings and lost his fathers fortune, amassed on the diamond diggings in South Africa, to the smooth operators on the Bikita Tinfields in 1932. George chose to go it alone. His story is also the tale of the many colourful characters he met along the road from wattle and daub to Lithium Lodge. Life in the mining camps and Jo-burg slums in the early days was tough, but, at times both hilarious and tragic. Prospecting in unexplored wild malaria infested country a health risk. His struggle with the incompetence and prejudice of the Ministry were endless. In the fifties he proved the economic value of the worlds largest petalite deposit. He then had to deal with the chicanery of the metal brokers, the lithium corporations and mining magnates. George had to learn fast the complicated art to straddle the ropes of big business.

Book Exchange Rate Regimes

Download or read book Exchange Rate Regimes written by Atish R. Ghosh and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2002 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An empirical study of exchange rate regimes based on data compiled from 150 member countries of the International Monetary Fund over the past thirty years. Few topics in international economics are as controversial as the choice of an exchange rate regime. Since the breakdown of the Bretton Woods system in the early 1970s, countries have adopted a wide variety of regimes, ranging from pure floats at one extreme to currency boards and dollarization at the other. While a vast theoretical literature explores the choice and consequences of exchange rate regimes, the abundance of possible effects makes it difficult to establish clear relationships between regimes and common macroeconomic policy targets such as inflation and growth. This book takes a systematic look at the evidence on macroeconomic performance under alternative exchange rate regimes, drawing on the experience of some 150 member countries of the International Monetary Fund over the past thirty years. Among other questions, it asks whether pegging the exchange rate leads to lower inflation, whether floating exchange rates are associated with faster output growth, and whether pegged regimes are particularly prone to currency and other crises. The book draws on history and theory to delineate the debate and on standard statistical methods to assess the empirical evidence, and includes a CD-ROM containing the data set used.
