Book Styrene Butadiene Rubber Production Cost Analysis SBR E12A

Download or read book Styrene Butadiene Rubber Production Cost Analysis SBR E12A written by Intratec and published by Intratec. This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) production via solution process. The process examined is a typical continuous solution process. In this process the anionic copolymerization of styrene and butadiene is carried out continuously, in two cascade stirred tank reactors, in the presence of cyclohexane solvent. After reaction, the polymer solution is steam-stripped for the removal of solvent. The crumb slurry is then dried and sento to packaging section. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): "Styrene-Butadiene Rubber", Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 5th edition Keywords: Polymerization, Styrene Butadiene Rubber, sSBR, BD

Book Styrene Butadiene Rubber Production Cost Analysis SBR E11A

Download or read book Styrene Butadiene Rubber Production Cost Analysis SBR E11A written by Intratec and published by Intratec Solutions. This book was released on 2016-03-01 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) production via cold emulsion polymerization process. The process examined is a typical continuous cold emulsion process for producing a non-staining, non-oil extended SBR grade (similar to 1502). In this process, an emulsion comprising water, styrene and butadiene monomers is polymerized into a latex, which is then coagulated to form the styrene-butadiene rubber. This report examines one-time costs associated with the construction of a United States-based plant and the continuing costs associated with the daily operation of such a plant. More specifically, it discusses: * Capital Investment, broken down by: - Total fixed capital required, divided in production unit (ISBL); infrastructure (OSBL) and contingency - Alternative perspective on the total fixed capital, divided in direct costs, indirect costs and contingency - Working capital and costs incurred during industrial plant commissioning and start-up * Production cost, broken down by: - Manufacturing variable costs (raw materials, utilities) - Manufacturing fixed costs (maintenance costs, operating charges, plant overhead, local taxes and insurance) - Depreciation and corporate overhead costs * Raw materials consumption, products generation and labor requirements * Process block flow diagram and description of industrial site installations (production unit and infrastructure) This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): "Styrene-Butadiene Rubber", Kirk-Othmer Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology, 5th edition Keywords: Polymerization, Styrene Butadiene Rubber, eSBR, BD

This book was released on 2019-09-17 with total page 103 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of High Solids Styrene Butadiene Latex production via cold emulsion polymerization process. The process examined is a typical continuous cold emulsion process for producing a high solids, non-carboxylated grade of SBR Latex with high butadiene content. In this process, an emulsion, comprising water, styrene and butadiene monomers, is polymerized into a low solids latex, which is then concentrated to a high-solids latex. Book excerpt: This report presents a cost analysis of Low Solids Styrene Butadiene Latex production via cold emulsion polymerization process. The process examined is a typical continuous cold emulsion process for producing a low solids, non-carboxylated grade of SBR Latex with high styrene content. In this process, an emulsion, comprising water, styrene and butadiene monomers, is polymerized into a very low solids latex, which passes through a concentration step for generating a low solids latex. This report was developed based essentially on the following reference(s): Keywords: Polymerization, Styrene Butadiene Latex, SB Latex

Book Handbook of Styrene Butadiene Rubber

Download or read book Handbook of Styrene Butadiene Rubber written by Jingyi Yuen and published by . This book was released on 2016-04-26 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR) is one of the most versatile copolymer rubber compounds. It consists of the organic compound styrene and the chemical budatiene, with the amount of budatiene usually being about three times more than the amount of styrene. SBR is a stable synthetic rubber that is resistant to abrasion. It is used in a wide variety of products, such as automobile tires, childrens toys, shoe soles and even chewing gum. SBR is produced either through ionic polymerization of a solution or as an emulsion through free radical polymerisation. Also known as emulsion stryrenebutadiene rubber (E-SBR), this product was first developed in the 1930s by I.G. Farbenindustrie in Germany. It was created through an emulsion procedure that used polymerization as the means of producing a material that had a low reaction viscosity but had all the attribute of natural rubber. SBR was very cost-effective and was used to stretch dwindling natural rubber resources, especially in tire manufacturing at a time when tires were made of solid rubber.

Book An Evaluation of Certain Methods for the Chemical Analysis of Styrene butadiene Rubber

Download or read book An Evaluation of Certain Methods for the Chemical Analysis of Styrene butadiene Rubber written by Edwin J. Parks and published by . This book was released on 1969 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The applicability of available methods for the analysis of unvulcanized styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR, formerly GR-S) for organic acid and soap is influenced by the type of coagulation (alum or salt-acid), the type of acid present (fatty acid, rosin acid, or mixed acids), and the presence of carbon black or oil. No single method is universally applicable for the analysis of organic acid and soap, but reasonably unbiased results can be attained by proper selection of the available procedures. The complete-solution procedure for alum-coagulated (AC) SBR has given reasonably good results for organic acid in samples containing mixed acids, while the extraction procedure using aqueous isopropanol-toluene azeotrope (ITA) gives good results for AC samples containing fatty acid only. The complete-solution procedure for SBR coagulated with salt and acid gives less biased results for organic acid and soap than the aqueous ITA extraction procedure, but the latter should be used for all SBR containing carbon black and for estimating oil in oil-rubber masterbatches. Both complete-solution procedures and the ITA extraction procedure can be adapted for the determination of stabilizer and bound styrene. The present ASTM extraction procedure using ethanol-toluene azeotrope is less satisfactory than the other procedures. (Author))
