Book STRUCTURE ET PROPRIETES MAGNETIQUES DE COUCHES MINCES DE COBALT SUR LA FACE 111 DU PLATINE

Download or read book STRUCTURE ET PROPRIETES MAGNETIQUES DE COUCHES MINCES DE COBALT SUR LA FACE 111 DU PLATINE written by JORG.. THIELE and published by . This book was released on 1995 with total page 264 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: CETTE THESE PRESENTE UNE ETUDE DES FILMS ULTRA MINCE DE COBALT CO EVAPORES A TEMPERATURE AMBIANTE SUR LA FACE (111) DE PLATINE PT PAR SPECTROSCOPIE DES NIVEAUX DE CUR, SPECTROSCOPIE AUGER AES, DIFFRACTION DES ELECTRONS LENTS DEL, DES EXPERIENCES DE EXTENDED X-RAY ABSORPTION FINE STRUCTURE SUR LE SEUIL K DE CO, ET PAR DICHROISME CIRCULAIRE MAGNETIQUE DCM EN ABSORPTION SUR LES SEUILS L#2#,#3 DU CO. L'ENSEMBLE DES CARACTERISATIONS MONTRE QUE LE CO CROIT DE MANIERE BIEN ORDONNEE AVEC DES DISTANCES INTERATOMIQUES PROCHES DE CELLES OBSERVEES DANS LE COBALT MASSIF, MALGRE UNE GRANDE DIFFERENCE DU PARAMETRE DE MAILLE ENTRE LE SUBSTRAT PT ET LE CO 10%. L'INTERFACE CO/PT(111) MONTRE SEULEMENT UNE TRES FAIBLE INTERDIFFUSION. PARALLELEMENT, IL A ETE OBSERVE, QUE LE DEPOT D'UNE COUCHE SUPPLEMENTAIRE DU PT SUR UN DEPOT DE CO N'INDUIT PAS DE CHANGEMENT DANS LE CO. LE DEPOUILLEMENT DES SPECTRES DE PHOTOEMISSION MONTRE QUE L'INTERFACE PT/CO AINSI FORMEE EST MOINS ABRUPTE QUE CELLE ENTRE LE CO ET LE SUBSTRAT PT MONOCRISTALLIN. DU COTE DES PROPRIETES MAGNETIQUES DES COUCHES MINCES DE CO, L'ETUDE EN DCM MET EN EVIDENCE QUE LES COUCHES DE CO NON RECOUVERTES PAR DU PT POSSEDENT UNE FORTE ANISOTROPIE PERPENDICULAIRE A LA SURFACE. EN RELATION AVEC LA CARACTERISATION DE LA STRUCTURE DES COUCHES MINCES DU CO/PT(111), IL EST AINSI POSSIBLE DE CERNER L'ORIGINE DE CETTE ANISOTROPIE, CAR NI LA FORMATION D'UNE ALLIAGE A L'INTERFACE NI DES CONTRAINTES INDUITES PAR LA DIFFERENCE DE PARAMETRE DE MAILLE ENTRE PT ET CO N'ONT ETE OBSERVES. C'EST DONC UNE VARIATION DE LA STRUCTURE ELECTRONIQUE PAR HYBRIDATION A L'INTERFACE CO/PT(111) QUI EST LE FACTEUR DETERMINANT POUR L'EXPLICATION DE L'ANISOTROPIE. L'ETUDE DE L'INFLUENCE DES RECUITS SUR LES FILMS DE CO NON RECOUVERTS MONTRE LA POSSIBILITE D'UNE FORMATION D'ALLIAGES DE SURFACE MAGNETIQUES POSSEDANT UNE ANISOTROPIE PERPENDICULAIRE A LA SURFACE

Book CROISSANCE ET STRUCTURE DES COUCHES MINCES MAGNETIQUES COBALT

Download or read book CROISSANCE ET STRUCTURE DES COUCHES MINCES MAGNETIQUES COBALT written by NICOLAS.. MARSOT and published by . This book was released on 1999 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: NOUS AVONS ETUDIE LA CROISSANCE ET LA STRUCTURE DES FILMS ULTRA-MINCES CO/AU, AFIN DE CORRELER LEURS PROPRIETES MAGNETIQUES AVEC LEURS PROPRIETES STRUCTURALES. LA CROISSANCE, A TEMPERATURE AMBIANTE, DU CO SUR L'AU (111) S'EFFECTUE EN TROIS ETAPES DISTINCTES : DE 0 A 2 MC, LE CO SE DEPOSE EN ILOTS DE BICOUCHES, DE 2 A 5 MC, LES ILOTS DE CO COALESCENT, ET UNE INTERDIFFUSION APPARAIT, LOCALISEE A L'INTERFACE ET RESULTANT DE LA DECONSTRUCTION DE LA SURFACE D'AU PAR LE DEPOT, PUIS AU DELA DE 5 MC, LA SURFACE DE L'AU EST RECOUVERTE PAR LE DEPOT, ET L'INTERDIFFUSION EST ENTERREE PAR LE CO. L'ETUDE DE LA DISSOLUTION DE DEPOTS DE CO (600 K) SUR LA SURFACE D'AU (111) MONTRE UN LISSAGE DES ILOTS DE CO ACCOMPAGNE D'UNE SEGREGATION DE L'AU A LA SURFACE DE CES ILOTS. LA CINETIQUE DE DISSOLUTION DETRUIT L'INTERFACE CO/AU PAR DISSOLUTION DU CO. LES ETUDES DE L'ORDRE LOCAL PAR SEXAFS ET DE L'ORDRE A GRANDE DISTANCE PAR DRXIR MONTRENT QUE LE CO SUR L'AU (111) ADOPTE LA STRUCTURE HEXAGONALE COMPACTE ET SON AXE DE FACILE AIMANTATION EST PERPENDICULAIRE A LA SURFACE. L'ETUDE DE L'ORDRE LOCAL MET EN EVIDENCE UNE EPITAXIE INCOHERENTE : LE CO GARDE SES PARAMETRES DE MAILLE EN VOLUME. CETTE ABSENCE DE CONTRAINTES MONTRE QUE LA CONTRIBUTION MAGNETOELASTIQUE A L'ANISOTROPIE MAGNETIQUE DES FILMS MINCES DE CO EST NEGLIGEABLE. L'ANALYSE DES CONTRAINTES PAR DIFFRACTION DES RAYONS X EN INCIDENCE RASANTE DANS LE DEPOT DE CO MET EN EVIDENCE DES CONTRAINTES RESIDUELLES. L'ETUDE DE LA TAILLE DES DOMAINES DIFFRACTANTS EXPLIQUE CETTE DIFFERENCE DE RESULTATS ENTRE LE POINT DE VUE DE L'ORDRE LOCAL ET LE POINT DE VUE DE L'ORDRE A GRANDE DISTANCE : LA TAILLE DES DOMAINES DIFFRACTANTS RESTE FAIBLE POUR TOUS LES DEPOTS DE CO PAR RAPPORT A LA TAILLE REELLE DES ILOTS. L'EVOLUTION DES CONTRAINTES DU FILM DE CO AVEC LE DEPOT SORT DU CADRE DE LA THEORIE DES DEFORMATIONS ELASTIQUES. L'ETUDE DE LA CROISSANCE A TEMPERATURE AMBIANTE, DE L'AU SUR DU CO MONTRE QU'IL N'Y A PAS D'INTERDIFFUSION A L'INTERDIFFUSION A L'INTERFACE AU/CO. LES CONTRAINTES DU FILM DE CO PAR UNE COUCHE D'AU ONT ETE MISES EN EVIDENCE, PROUVANT AINSI LA MODIFICATION DE L'ETAT DES CONTRAINTES DANS LE FILM MAGNETIQUE LORS DU DEPOT DE LA COUCHE DE COUVERTURE. LA STRUCTURE CRISTALLOGRAPHIQUE ADOPTEE PAR L'AU SUR LE CO EST LA STRUCTURE CUBIQUE A FACES CENTREES MACLEE.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Once treated as the absence of knowledge, ignorance today has become a highly influential topic in its own right, commanding growing attention across the natural and social sciences where a wide range of scholars have begun to explore the social life and political issues involved in the distribution and strategic use of not knowing. The field is growing fast and this handbook reflects this interdisciplinary field of study by drawing contributions from economics, sociology, history, philosophy, cultural studies, anthropology, feminist studies, and related fields in order to serve as a seminal guide to the political, legal and social uses of ignorance in social and political life. This book was released on 2013-06-29 with total page 448 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Institute for Amorphous Studies was founded in 1982 as the international center for the investigation of amorphous mate rials. It has since played an important role in promoting the und er standing of disordered matter in general. An Institute lecture series on "Fundamentals of Amorphous Materials and Devices" was held during 1982-83 with distinguished speakers from universities and industry. These events were free and open to the public ,and were attended by many representatives of the scientific community. The lectures themselves were highly successful inasmuch as they provided not only formal instruction but also an opportunity for vigorous and stimulating debate. That last element could not be captured within the pages of a book I but the lectures concentrated on the latest advances in the field I which is why their essential contents are he re reproduced in collective form. Together they constitute an interdisciplinary status report of the field. The speakers brought many different viewpoints and a variety of back ground experiences io bear on the problems involved I but though language and conventions vary I the essential unity of the concerns is very clear I as indeed are the ultimate benefits of the many-sided approach.

Book Alphaherpesviruses

  • Author : Sandra Knowles Weller
  • Publisher : Caister Academic Press Limited
  • Release : 2011
  • ISBN : 9781904455769
  • Pages : 0 pages

Download or read book Alphaherpesviruses written by Sandra Knowles Weller and published by Caister Academic Press Limited. This book was released on 2011 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Alphaherpesviruses are a fascinating group of DNA viruses that includes important human pathogens such as herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1), HSV-2, and varicella-zoster virus (VZV): the causative agents of cold sores, genital ulcerous disease, and chickenpox/shingles, respectively. A key attribute of these viruses is their ability to establish lifelong latent infection in the peripheral nervous system of the host. Such persistence requires subversion of the host's immune system and intrinsic antiviral defense mechanisms. Understanding the mechanisms of the immune evasion and what triggers viral reactivation is a major challenge for today's researchers. This has prompted enormous research efforts into understanding the molecular and cellular biology of these viruses. This up-to-date and comprehensive volume aims to distill the most important research in this area providing a timely overview of the field. Topics covered include: transcriptional regulation, DNA replication, translational control, virus entry and capsid assembly, the role of microRNAs in infection and oncolytic vectors for cancer therapy. In addition there is coverage of virus-host interactions, including apoptosis, subversion of host protein quality control and DNA damage response pathways, autophagy, establishment and reactivation from latency, interferon responses, immunity and vaccine development. Essential reading for everyone working with alphaherpesviruses and of interest to all virologists working on latent infections.

Book Quaternary Vegetation Dynamics

Download or read book Quaternary Vegetation Dynamics written by Jürgen Runge and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2021-11-28 with total page 412 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book celebrates the relaunch of the African Pollen Database, presents state-of-the-art of modern and ancient pollen data from sub-Saharan Africa, and promotes Open Access science. Pollen grains are powerful tools for the study of past vegetation dynamics because they preserve well within sedimentary deposits and have a huge diversity in ornamentation that allows different taxa to be determined. The reconstruction of past vegetation from the examination of ancient pollen records thus can be used to characterize the nature of past landscapes (e.g. abundance of forests vs. grasslands), provide insights into changes in biodiversity, and gain empirical evidence of vegetation response to climatic change and human activity. In this, the 35th Volume of "Palaeoecology of Africa", we bring together new data and extensive synthetic reviews to provide novel insights into the relationships between human evolution, human activity, climate change and vegetation dynamics during the Quaternary, the last 2.6 million years. Current and ongoing climate and land-use change is exerting pressure on modern vegetation formations and threatening the livelihoods and wellbeing of many peoples in Africa. In this book the focus is on the Quaternary because it is during this geological period that the modern vegetation formations developed into their current configurations against a backdrop of high magnitude global climate change (glacial-interglacial cycles), human evolution, and a growing human land-use footprint. In this book the latest information is presented and collated from around the African continent to parameterize past vegetation states, identify the drivers of vegetation change, and assess the vegetation resilience to change. To achieve this research from two broad themes are covered: (i) the present is the key to the past (i.e. studies which improve our understanding of modern environments so that we can better interpret evidence from the past), and (ii) the past is the key to the future (i.e. studies which unlock information on how and why vegetation changed in the past so one can better anticipate trajectories of future change). This Open Access book will provide a strong foundation for future research exploring past ecological, environmental and climatic change within Africa and the surrounding islands. The book is organized regionally (covering western, eastern, central, and southern Africa) and it contains specialized articles focused on particular topics (such as modern pollen-vegetation relationships and fire as a driver of vegetation change), as well as regional and pan-African syntheses drawing together decades of research to assess key scientific questions (including the role of climate in driving vegetation change and the role of vegetation change in human evolution). These articles will be useful to students and teachers from high school to the highest level of university who are interested in the origins and dynamics of vegetation in Africa. Furthermore, it is also meant to provide societally relevant information that can act as an inspiration for the development of sustainable management practices for the future.
