Book Stress traumatismes et insomnies

Download or read book Stress traumatismes et insomnies written by Jean-Pierre Fresco and published by EDK Editions. This book was released on 2013-02-25 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Handbook of Sleep Disorders in Medical Conditions

Download or read book Handbook of Sleep Disorders in Medical Conditions written by Josee Savard and published by Academic Press. This book was released on 2019-03-14 with total page 472 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Handbook of Sleep Disorders in Medical Conditions reviews the current knowledge on the nature and manifestations of sleep disorders associated with a variety of common medical conditions, including epilepsy, traumatic brain injury and dementia. It also provides clinical guidelines on how to assess and treat them with pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. Although the general principles of sleep medicine may be applied to some extent to patients with comorbid medical conditions, this book makes the case that an adaptive approach is warranted when considering the particularities of each condition. In addition, clinicians must also be cautious when prescribing sleep medications as some pharmacological agents are known to exacerbate symptoms associated with the medical condition, such as cognitive deficits (i.e. difficulties with memory and attention) in cancer patients experiencing chemo brain, or in persons with neurologic conditions (e.g. mild cognitive impairment, dementia, stroke, brain injury). A differential approach to evaluating and treating sleep is thus warranted. Presents a general overview on assessing and treating sleep disorders that are applicable to a diverse set of patients Provides a comprehensive, up-to-date review of the literature on the prevalence and manifestations of sleep problems related to specific medical conditions Includes practical information regarding special considerations for the assessment and treatment of sleep issues in specific medical conditions

Book Trauma et texte

Download or read book Trauma et texte written by Peter Kuon and published by Peter Lang. This book was released on 2008 with total page 336 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book Les troubles anxieux written by BOULENGER Jean-Philippe and published by Lavoisier. This book was released on 2014-04-04 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book Rediscovering Pierre Janet

Download or read book Rediscovering Pierre Janet written by Giuseppe Craparo and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2019-04-03 with total page 323 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rediscovering Pierre Janet explores the legacy left by the pioneering French psychologist, philosopher and psychotherapist (1859–1947), from the relationship of between Janet and Freud, to the influence of his dissociation theory on contemporary psychotraumatology. Divided into three parts, the first section places Janetian psychological analysis and psychoanalysis in context with the foundational tenets of psychoanalysis, from Freud to relational theory, before the book explores Janet’s work on trauma and dissociation and its influence on contemporary thinking. Part three presents several contemporary psychotherapy approaches directly influenced by Janetian theory, including the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder and dissociative identity disorder. Rediscovering Pierre Janet draws together eminent scholars from a variety of backgrounds, each of whom has developed Janetian constructs according to his or her own theoretical and clinical models. It provides an integrative approach that offers contemporary perspectives on Janet’s work, and will be of significant interest to practicing psychoanalysts, psychiatrists and psychotherapists, especially those treating trauma-related dissociative disorders, as well as researchers with an interest in psychological trauma.
