Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Nothing is more essential than knowing how to worship the God who created us. This book focuses readers on the essentials of God-honoring worship, combining biblical foundations with practical application in a way that works in the real world. The author, a pastor and noted songwriter, skillfully instructs pastors, musicians, and church leaders so that they can root their congregational worship in unchanging scriptural principles, not divisive cultural trends. Bob Kauflin covers a variety of topics such as the devastating effects of worshiping the wrong things, how to base our worship on God's self-revelation rather than our assumptions, the fuel of worship, the community of worship, and the ways that eternity's worship should affect our earthly worship. Appropriate for Christians from varied backgrounds and for various denominations, this book will bring a vital perspective to what readers think they understand about praising God.

Many of you grew up assuming that marriage would meet all of your needs and unlock God's purposes for you. But God has far more planned for you than your future marriage. Not Yet Married is not about waiting quietly in the corner of the world for God to bring you "the one," but about inspiring you to live and date for more now. If you follow Jesus, the search for a spouse is no longer a pursuit of the perfect person, but a pursuit of more of God. He will likely write a love story for you different than the one you would write for yourself, but that's because he loves you and knows how to write a better story. This book was written to help you find real hope, happiness, and purpose in your not-yet-married life.

  • Author : Kenneth E. Boulding
  • Publisher : University of Texas Press
  • Release : 2014-12-15
  • ISBN : 1477305718
  • Pages : 156 pages

Download or read book Stable Peace written by Kenneth E. Boulding and published by University of Texas Press. This book was released on 2014-12-15 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The human race has often put a high value on struggle, strife, turmoil, and excitement. Peace has been regarded as a utopian, unattainable, perhaps dull ideal or as some random element over which we have no control. However, the desperate necessities of the nuclear age have forced us to take peace seriously as an object of both personal and national policy. Stable Peace attempts to answer the question, If we had a policy for peace, what would it look like? A policy for peace aims to speed up the historically slow, painful, but persistent transition from a state of continual war and turmoil to one of continual peace. In a stable peace, the war-peace system is tipped firmly toward peace and away from the cycle of folly, illusion, and ill will that leads to war. Boulding proposes a number of modest, easily attainable, eminently reasonable policies directed toward this goal. His recommendations include the removal of national boundaries from political agendas, the encouragement of reciprocal acts of good will between potential enemies, the exploration of the theory and practice of nonviolence, the development of governmental and nongovernmental organizations to promote peace, and the development of research in the whole area of peace and conflict management. Written in straightforward, lucid prose, Stable Peace will be of importance to politicians, policy makers, economists, diplomats, all concerned citizens, and all those interested in international relations and the resolution of conflict.

Book Western Strategic Interests in Saudi Arabia RLE Saudi Arabia

Download or read book Western Strategic Interests in Saudi Arabia RLE Saudi Arabia written by Anthony Cordesman and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-07-26 with total page 311 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Saudi Arabia’s strategic relations with the West involve clear and direct common strategic interests in the Gulf and in the Near East. While they compete in terms of trade and oil prices, they share a common commitment to private enterprise and to maintaining a stable balance of world trade. Saudi Arabia often differs with given Western states in terms of specific strategic interests and tactics, but these differences are rarely significant enough to prevent close cooperation. Even the differences over the Arab-Israeli peace issue are largely ones of timing and tactics. Saudi Arabia must preserve friendly relations with Syria, and is vulnerable to attacks by Arab radicals and Iran. It has also differed with the US over the specific approach that should be taken to achieving an Arab-Israeli peace settlement, but it has consistently pushed for a peace settlement within the Arab world. This book, first published in 1987, analyses the interrelations between Western and Saudi strategic concerns and argues forcibly that pressure from the Israeli lobby within US domestic politics must not be allowed to interfere within the proper provisioning of the Saudi armed forces, especially the air force.

Book Symphony of the Heart

    Book Details:
  • Author : Peter Donaldson
  • Publisher : iUniverse
  • Release : 2011-02
  • ISBN : 145027661X
  • Pages : 200 pages

Download or read book Symphony of the Heart written by Peter Donaldson and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2011-02 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this poetic analysis of the human response throughout the journey of life, Peter Donaldson unveils his examination of human behavior in various circumstances and in response to a variety of topics, including love, faith, politics, relationships, and black history. He offers this literary exposition of the nature of the human heart and the intriguing emotional reactions we express towards the obstacles, successes, and failures of life, hoping to leave readers refreshed by a complete showering of poetic utopia. Although largely influenced by a Christian perspective, the philosophical ideologies presented here aim to stimulate deep thoughts in the minds of both the believer and agnostic alike. Symphony of the Heart presents an expression of lyrical artistry that surveys a journey into the uncharted waters of faith and unbridled emotions. In the dialect of poetic lingo, Donaldson intends to spur discussions concerning the controversial issues of life with language creatively written in such an untailored fashion as to create a sentiment of tranquil literary bliss.
