Book Streamlining of Provisions on State Plans for Occupational Safety and Health Us Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation Osha 2018 Edition

Download or read book Streamlining of Provisions on State Plans for Occupational Safety and Health Us Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation Osha 2018 Edition written by The Law Library and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2018-12-07 with total page 40 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Law Library presents the complete text of the Streamlining of Provisions on State Plans for Occupational Safety and Health (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 This document primarily amends OSHA regulations to remove the detailed descriptions of State plan coverage, purely historical data, and other unnecessarily codified information. In addition, this document moves most of the general provisions of subpart A of part 1952 into part 1902, where the general regulations on State plan criteria are found. It also amends several other OSHA regulations to delete references to part 1952, which will no longer apply. The purpose of these revisions is to eliminate the unnecessary codification of material in the Code of Federal Regulations and thus save the time and funds currently expended in publicizing State plan revisions. The streamlining of OSHA State plan regulations does not change the areas of coverage or any other substantive components of any State plan. It also does not affect the rights and responsibilities of the State plans, or any employers or employees, except to eliminate the burden on State plan designees to keep paper copies of approved State plans and plan supplements in an office, and to submit multiple copies of proposed State plan documents to OSHA. This document also contains a request for comments for an Information Collection Request (ICR) under the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), which covers all collection of information requirements in OSHA State plan regulations. This ebook contains: - The complete text of the Streamlining of Provisions on State Plans for Occupational Safety and Health (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition) - A dynamic table of content linking to each section - A table of contents in introduction presenting a general overview of the structure

Book excerpt: The Law Library presents the complete text of the Standards Improvement Project- Phase III. Action - Final Rule (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 Phase III of the Standards Improvement Project (SIP-III) is the third in a series of rulemaking actions to improve and streamline OSHA standards. The Standards Improvement Project removes or revises individual requirements within rules that are confusing, outdated, duplicative, or inconsistent. OSHA identified several requirements for SIP-III (e.g., rigging, NIOSH records, and training certifications) for improvement based on the Agency's review of its standards, suggestions and comments from the public, or recommendations from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). OSHA believes that improving these standards will help employers to better understand their obligations, promote safety and health for employees, lead to increased compliance, and reduce compliance costs. OSHA estimates that these changes will result in annualized savings for employers of over $45 million, and will reduce paperwork burden by 1.85 million hours annually. This book was released on 2018-11-14 with total page 58 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Clarification of Employer Duty To Provide Personal Protective Equipment and Train Each Employee. Final Rule (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Clarification of Employer Duty To Provide Personal Protective Equipment and Train Each Employee. Final Rule (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 In this rulemaking, OSHA is amending its standards to add language clarifying that the personal protective equipment (PPE) and training requirements impose a compliance duty to each and every employee covered by the standards and that noncompliance may expose the employer to liability on a per-employee basis. The amendments consist of new paragraphs added to the introductory sections of the listed Parts and changes to the language of some existing respirator and training requirements. This action, which is in accord with OSHA's longstanding position, is being taken in response to recent decisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission indicating that differences in wording among the various PPE and training provisions in OSHA safety and health standards affect the Agency's ability to treat an employer's failure to provide PPE or training to each covered employee as a separate violation. The amendments add no new compliance obligations. Employers are not required to provide any new type of PPE or training, to provide PPE or training to any employee not already covered by the existing requirements, or to provide PPE or training in a different manner than that already required. The amendments simply clarify that the standards apply to each employee. Updated as of May 29, 2018 OSHA is amending its recordkeeping regulations to clarify that the duty to make and maintain accurate records of work-related injuries and illnesses is an ongoing obligation. The duty to record an injury or illness continues for as long as the employer must keep records of the recordable injury or illness; the duty does not expire just because the employer fails to create the necessary records when first required to do so. The amendments consist of revisions to the titles of some existing sections and subparts and changes to the text of some existing provisions. The amendments add no new compliance obligations and do not require employers to make records of any injuries or illnesses for which records are not currently required to be made. Book Employer Payment for Personal Protective Equipment Us Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation Osha 2018 Edition

Download or read book Employer Payment for Personal Protective Equipment Us Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation Osha 2018 Edition written by The Law The Law Library and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-11-14 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Employer Payment for Personal Protective Equipment (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition) The Law Library presents the complete text of the Employer Payment for Personal Protective Equipment (US Occupational Safety and Health Administration Regulation) (OSHA) (2018 Edition). Updated as of May 29, 2018 Many Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) health, safety, maritime, and construction standards require employers to provide their employees with protective equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), when such equipment is necessary to protect employees from job-related injuries, illnesses, and fatalities. These requirements address PPE of many kinds: hard hats, gloves, goggles, safety shoes, safety glasses, welding helmets and goggles, faceshields, chemical protective equipment, fall protection equipment, and so forth. The provisions in OSHA standards that require PPE generally state that the employer is to provide such PPE. However, some of these provisions do not specify that the employer is to provide such PPE at no cost to the employee. In this rulemaking, OSHA is requiring employers to pay for the PPE provided, with exceptions for specific items. The rule does not require employers to provide PPE where none has been required before. Instead, the rule merely stipulates that the employer must pay for required PPE, except in the limited cases specified in the standard.
