Ein Management der unternehmensübergreifenden Wertschöpfungskette erweist sich daher als notwendig. Das Supply Chain Management könnte hierzu ein geeignetes Konzept darzustellen. In der Literatur stellen zahlreiche Autoren fest, dass sich durch die Realisierung von Supply Chain Management Optimierungspotenziale erreichen lassen.
