Although there are varying types of color deficiencies, it is unclear how the inability to perceive certain wavelengths of color may inhibit other visual processes such as stereo acuity. A population of glaucoma patients with color deficiencies are found to have lower levels of stereopsis. The literature has sparsely addressed this hypothesis as such, control double-blind studies involving healthy human subjects would be needed to stablish a correlation between color deficiencies and reduced stereo acuity in this special population.
