Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Staying Out of Pits: A Revelation of the Victory is the second of three books written by Pneuma Phillips. It is a continuation of the first book, Out of the Pit: The Work of Grace (if you have not read it, we suggest you do). We averred that though we were once in a pit of sin, God had saved us by pulling us out (Psalm 40:13, KJV; Colossians 1:1314, MSG) through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this book, we recognize different pits we do not need to accept: the pit of sin, self, failure, fear, hell and Hades, sicknesses and diseases, poverty and lack, curses, religion, and pit of death (Exodus 7:112:40). God wants us to know that, by the sacrifice of Jesus, we have victory. An understanding of this victory will help us stay out and enjoy victory over every pit, such as sin (Romans 6:11, 14, NLT), self (Matthew 16:2425, ISV), failure (Thessalonians 1:11, MSG), fear (John 14:1, NLT; 2 Timothy 1:7, MSG), hell and Hades (Matthews 25:3234), sickness and diseases (Isaiah 53:45, MSG), poverty and lack (2 Corinthians 8:9, NLT), curses (Galatians 3:1314, MSG), religion (Romans 10:13, MSG), and death (1 Corinthians 15:5557, MSG). We therefore rejoice always because we have the victory over every pit. We stay in our victory by constantly looking unto Jesus and depending on God. How? In 1 Corinthians 10:1315, Romans 6:11, and Galatians 5:16, we learn five key things. God is faithful, so God does not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. He has made a way of escape so we reckon ourselves dead to sin but alive in Christ. Thereafter, we must yield to the Spirit not to gratify the desires of the flesh or experience the limitations of any pit.

Download or read book Out of the Pit written by Pneuma Phillips and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-08-31 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Out of the Pit is exactly like spending an evening with Pastor Pneuma Phillips. It is the aura of love and forgiveness, a no-condemnation atmosphere where you can receive help to come out of any predicament. We have all sinned, suffered rejection, and been in difficult situations, but we should see that in Christ we are delivered and brought out and that nothing intimidates us. It is only against God that we sin, and wonderfully enough, he judged it in Jesus Christ and has ruled in our favor. Christ has died, and all our sins are forgiven. He does not keep a record against us; we are blameless. We are established in and sustained by grace. We are on earth for God to use us as inscriptions, products, and fruits of his righteousness. This amazing grace is because God loves us. Christ is our qualification. We are the expressions of his grace. We never condemn people. We never give up on people because we know that we have been pulled out and forgiven. We live the grace life. We grow in wisdom and stature in favor before God and before man. We are blameless and without a single spot. The Holy Spirit guides our lives. Our hearts are enlarged, and our trust is in God. This book is not just theoretical. The lives of the authors are a testimony to the truths of this reading. They are made exceptional by keeping ever before them the truth of this message. There is a grace, an ease about their lives and conduct. They are dedicated to see people as God sees them, to reach out to others with the same grace they have received, and through this book, they reach out to you to be out of the pits, to receive and walk in the extraordinary life.

Download or read book Pit Bull written by Bronwen Dickey and published by Knopf. This book was released on 2016-05-10 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The hugely illuminating story of how a popular breed of dog became the most demonized and supposedly the most dangerous of dogs—and what role humans have played in the transformation. When Bronwen Dickey brought her new dog home, she saw no traces of the infamous viciousness in her affectionate, timid pit bull. Which made her wonder: How had the breed—beloved by Teddy Roosevelt, Helen Keller, and Hollywood’s “Little Rascals”—come to be known as a brutal fighter? Her search for answers takes her from nineteenth-century New York City dogfighting pits—the cruelty of which drew the attention of the recently formed ASPCA—to early twentieth‑century movie sets, where pit bulls cavorted with Fatty Arbuckle and Buster Keaton; from the battlefields of Gettysburg and the Marne, where pit bulls earned presidential recognition, to desolate urban neighborhoods where the dogs were loved, prized—and sometimes brutalized. Whether through love or fear, hatred or devotion, humans are bound to the history of the pit bull. With unfailing thoughtfulness, compassion, and a firm grasp of scientific fact, Dickey offers us a clear-eyed portrait of this extraordinary breed, and an insightful view of Americans’ relationship with their dogs.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jack Buck, a fifteen-year-old from Northwest Florida, is an average-looking guy with brown eyes, little bulb of a nose, strong eyebrows, his face topped with wavy dark brown hair, worn kind of long. His life is anything but average. A year ago, his father disappeared, and now his mother has died, leaving Jack and his sister Annie as orphans. Following clues left in a series of cryptic letters, Jack realizes he must find the one person who might still want him. He is the only one who believes his father isn't lost to this world after disappearing in the West Pacific while on expedition to prove the widely derided theory in ancient astronauts. Believed to have colonized earth at the dawn of history, these aliens left their mark in the form of monuments and edifices, the pyramids of Egypt only being the best known, created with powers not yet discovered by man. Early humans memorialized these visits in myriad sculptures and edifices unearthed by archaeologists. Jack's father's final communication from a Pacific island hinted he'd found proof these visitations actually occurred. Armed only with the belief in his heart that his dad is still alive, Jack retraces his father's path from Florida to the far-flung Pacific with only scant hints as to his whereabouts. Jack begins his journey as a stowaway on the Lady Jane heading out of New Orleans for Jamaica. Will faith and determination be enough to save Jack from the same fate his father?

Cory’s ‘army’ eventually march out to face overwhelming odds. This is the story of an ordinary, unassuming little guy, pitted against something hostile and destructive. But it is not just a battle between good and evil, because these two characteristics are found on both sides: it is about personal battles to confront doubts and uncertainties.
