Book excerpt: Inspired by classical African meta-physics, Asar Imhotep (The Black Lotus) has compiled a compelling collection of essays and poetry that reflects his insights and perspectives on various issues, including the relevance of Satan, the error in obtaining freedom, the conceptual conductivity of the human body, the importance of emotions during a rite of passage, and the self-destructive nature of allowing your enemy to become your deity. Asar introduces to us a poetic discourse that is deeply rooted in an ethnopoetics whose tradition has heavily influenced the art of our time, such as Hip Hop. The themes range widely from the metaphysical (I am that I am), to the bliss of love (Let me love you), to the power of self-affirmation (I'm so Black), to the pure indulgence in classic word wizardry (Still not convinced). Esodus: Internal Reflections and Conversations with the Sun is sure to inspire you to think big, think often, think critically, and expand the boundaries of your imagination.

Book Applications Tools and Techniques on the Road to Exascale Computing

Download or read book Applications Tools and Techniques on the Road to Exascale Computing written by Koen de Bosschere and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 688 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Single processing units have now reached a point where further major improvements in their performance are restricted by their physical limitations. This is causing a slowing down in advances at the same time as new scientific challenges are demanding exascale speed. This has meant that parallel processing has become key to High Performance Computing (HPC). This book contains the proceedings of the 14th biennial ParCo conference, ParCo2011, held in Ghent, Belgium. The ParCo conferences have traditionally concentrated on three main themes: Algorithms, Architectures and Applications. Nowadays though, the focus has shifted from traditional multiprocessor topologies to heterogeneous and manycores, incorporating standard CPUs, GPUs (Graphics Processing Units) and FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Arrays). These platforms are, at a higher abstraction level, integrated in clusters, grids and clouds. The papers presented here reflect this change of focus. New architectures, programming tools and techniques are also explored, and the need for exascale hardware and software was also discussed in the industrial session of the conference. This book will be of interest to all those interested in parallel computing today, and progress towards the exascale computing of tomorrow.

Book Spiritual Energy

    Book Details:
  • Author : Simon Richard Lee
  • Publisher : Authors On Line Ltd
  • Release : 2004-08
  • ISBN : 9780755210060
  • Pages : 326 pages

Download or read book Spiritual Energy written by Simon Richard Lee and published by Authors On Line Ltd. This book was released on 2004-08 with total page 326 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The New Testament contains these diverse statements: 1) God is Spirit. 2) God is Love. 3) Love is a 'Fruit of the Holy Spirit', amongst many others. 4) The Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) is Seven Spirits or a Sevenfold Spirit. Simon Lee has spent the last twenty years pondering these issues and the following resulting questions, which this book tries to answer in full: - 1) Love then is a Spirit, and according to Shakespeare a 'many-splendoured thing'. Can we attempt to summarise Love so rich in artistic descriptions by thousands of poets, singers, writers and playwrights and other Spirits, in simple terms? 2) What are the other Six Spirits? Can we decide what they are? 3) The Bible often describes The Spirit as resembling a Tree or Fountain. How do the Seven Spirits co-exist in this apparently perfectly scientific description of their structure? Can we describe this structure, especially visualise it? 4) Modern Science, especially physics, claims to be close to a scientific Theory of Everything. There are certain holes in this theory. Science ignores the spiritual and artistic in life. Do the latter in fact need to be called upon to 'fill the scientific holes'? scientific camps', the ' NUMBERS of things' involved must precisely match, i.e. the quantities of 'spiritual essences used to fill holes in science' must be precisely correct. Are they? 6) Do other Holy Books in other Faiths back up these notions about a Set of Holy Spirits going together to make up the Spirit of God? 7) Clearly the Spirit of God has enemies trying to supplant or replace spiritual with secular 'things'. Is the rising main enemy of the Holy Spirit today, Information Technology? Twenty years of thinking and research goes into Simon Lee's claim that this book provides a resounding, convincingly argued answer of 'YES ' to all seven of these questions. It is therefore an 'analysis of Spirit' i.e. of God as a Spirit Being

Book Computers Chess and Cognition

Book Architecture of Systems Problem Solving

Download or read book Architecture of Systems Problem Solving written by George J. Klir and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One criterion for classifying books is whether they are written for a single pur pose or for multiple purposes. This book belongs to the category of multipurpose books, but one of its roles is predominant-it is primarily a textbook. As such, it can be used for a variety ofcourses at the first-year graduate or upper-division undergraduate level. A common characteristic of these courses is that they cover fundamental systems concepts, major categories of systems problems, and some selected methods for dealing with these problems at a rather general level. A unique feature of the book is that the concepts, problems, and methods are introduced in the context of an architectural formulation of an expert system referred to as the general systems problem solver or aSPS-whose aim is to provide users ofall kinds with computer-based systems knowledge and methodo logy. Theasps architecture, which is developed throughout the book, facilitates a framework that is conducive to acoherent, comprehensive, and pragmaticcoverage ofsystems fundamentals-concepts, problems, and methods. A course that covers systems fundamentals is now offered not only in sys tems science, information science, or systems engineering programs, but in many programs in other disciplines as well. Although the level ofcoverage for systems science or engineering students is surely different from that used for students in other disciplines, this book is designed to serve both of these needs.
