Book Speed Control of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine

Download or read book Speed Control of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine written by Jigneshkumar Desai and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2022-09-27 with total page 61 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Document from the year 2022 in the subject Engineering - General, grade: 12, , language: English, abstract: The creation of a simulation model for closed loop vector controlled IPMSM drive performance enhancement and speed control is described in this book. By regulating the torque component of the current, the model achieves superior speed tracking and rapid dynamic response under transient and steady-state circumstances. The control technique is used by both the proportional and integrated controllers in the PI controller. Combining two independent controllers and reducing the shortcomings of each results in a more effective controller. To offer optimal speed operation in the face of environmental changes, load variations, and structural disturbances, the Fuzzy Logic Controller for PMSM must be properly constructed. Using MATLAB Simulink, this book gives a comprehensive simulation of an internal permanent magnet synchronous motor driving system. Interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) are used to improve machine performance and offer rapid torque response. IPMSMs are utilised in low and medium-power applications such as servos, robotics, variable-speed motors, electric vehicles, and computer peripherals. Because PM motor drives are becoming more popular, simulation systems capable of handling motor drive simulations are in great demand. Simulation tools can dynamically simulate motor drives in a visual environment, saving money and time and easing the development of new systems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this chapter, methods for the structural realization of a speed control system for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) using the ,Äúmaximum torque per ampere,Äù (MTA) and ,Äúmaximum torque per volt,Äù (MTV) optimal control strategies are considered. In the system in constant torque region, is a technique for adapting the speed controller to the presence of the reactive motor torque component, which improves the quality of the transient processes, is proposed. It is also recommended to approximate the dependence of the flux-forming current component on the motor torque by the ,Äúdead zone,Äù nonlinearity, which will simplify the optimal control algorithm and avoid solving the fourth-degree algebraic equation in real time. For the speed control with field weakening technique, a novel system is recommended. In this system, the control algorithms are switched by the variable of the direct stator current component constraint generated in accordance with the MTA law: the upper limit is calculated in accordance with the ,Äúfield weakening control,Äù (FWC) strategy, and the lower limit in accordance with the MTV strategy. The steady-state stator voltage constraint is implemented through the variable quadrature stator current component limitation. The effectiveness of the proposed solutions is confirmed by the simulation results.

Book Improvement of Torque and Speed Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine in the Flux weakening Region

Download or read book Improvement of Torque and Speed Control of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine in the Flux weakening Region written by Dakai Hu and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) have established their predominance over other types of machines in the motor drive industry for the past several decades. High efficiency and high torque and power density, which are the most distinguishing traits of PMSM drives, have enabled PMSM drives to be applied in almost all areas of industry, from home appliances to vehicle tractions. While the permanent magnet, which can be considered as an energy source, is what contributes to the high power density of PMSM; at the same time, it also causes inconvenience since the magnetic field it produces is relatively fixed. For high speed applications, flux-weakening (a.k.a. field-weakening) is almost always required of PMSM drives. When In the flux-weakening region, issues such as limited constant power speed ratio, current control instability, low torque control accuracy still exist, and it calls for advanced control strategies that can improve the performance of PMSM across a wide speed and torque range. The torque and speed control methods proposed in this dissertation provided improvements to existing control strategies of PMSM in the flux-weakening region. To reduce the current oscillation issue related to voltage regulated flux-weakening controller, the proposed modifications redesigned the current trajectory, and extended the operation region to the Maximum Torque per Volt (MTPV) region. To achieve accurate torque control in the flux-weakening region, an open-loop torque controller was proposed. Together with this controller, a novel PMSM characterizing test procedure was developed for the extraction of PMSM machine data. The results from this characterizing test also led to the establishment of a new high fidelity PMSM modeling method that can capture the nonlinearity of PMSM machines. All control strategies proposed in this dissertation apply both in surface-mounted (IPM) and interior-mounted (SPM) permanent magnet synchronous machines.
