Book Competitiveness of dairy sector with special focus on co operatives in India

Download or read book Competitiveness of dairy sector with special focus on co operatives in India written by Ranjith Kumar P.S and published by Prem Jose. This book was released on with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Indian dairy industry has grown consistently ever since the white revolution of the 1970s, making India, the world’s largest producer of milk. Milk production in India has been growing at over 4% annually and its share in milk production in the world has increased to 17 per cent. India’s estimated milk production in 2015-16 was 155.49mt and continued to be the largest milk producing nation, which is about 6.28 per cent higher than last year. Estimated per capita availability in 2015-16 was 337 grams per day, an increase of 4.7 per cent over the previous year (Anonymous, 2016a). Despite the increase in production, a demand supply gap has become imminent in the dairy industry due to the changing consumption habits, dynamic demographic patterns and the rapid urbanization of rural India. Indian dairy landscape is dominated by large vertically integrated dairy co-operatives like Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), Karnataka Milk Federation and NDDB-led Mother Dairy. In the private sector, Britannia isn’t a vertically integrated dairy company while Nestle is only partially integrated. Products from these companies are present across the country. Other private dairy companies like Hatsun Agro, Heritage Foods, Parag Milk Foods, Prabhat Dairy and Kwality are vertically integrated dairy companies but have a largely regional presence (Anonymous, 2016a). GCMMF sells products under brand name AMUL, is the leading player in the dairy industry with a market share of 16% followed by Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetable Pvt. Ltd. (9%), Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Ltd. (8%), GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Limited (6%) and Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Ltd. (5%). Some of the major private players include Hatsun Agro (2%), Heritage Foods (2%), Nestle India (2%), Mother Dairy Calcutta (2%), Hindustan Unilever (HUL) (1%), VRS Foods (0.9%), Britannia (0.7%) and Vadilal (0.7%).

This book was released on 2024-03-04 with total page 239 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of transportation engineering integrates the building sciences with the creative problem-solving needed to create ground-breaking new infrastructure, systems, and solutions. Jobs in this diverse subject are accessible in both the commercial and governmental sectors. Experts in transportation engineering devise strategies, create blueprints, build, run, and repair networks. Their work encompasses a wide variety of tasks, from investigating potential new projects to maintaining current infrastructure. By doing so, we can be confident that individuals will update previous projects as needed and that new technology will be safely integrated into future ones. To predict journeys, determine whether new infrastructure is necessary, and suggest investment programs & transportation policies to reduce congestion and other problems in the future, transportation planners must first comprehend and analyze travel behaviour. Considerations such as projected congestion, population expansion, and proposed new settlements could inform transportation planners' assessments of a region's need for a new route. Transportation designs are necessary to direct the installation of certain facilities, after the development of new infrastructures. They include figuring out crucial characteristics of transportation infrastructures, such as their size, placement, geometry, and capacity, among other things. A new highway's transportation design, for instance, would specify the highway's precise location, size, traffic capacity, curvature, vertical alignment, and pavement thickness, among other characteristics. When building transportation infrastructure, transportation designs are essential.

This study is a cross-sectional quantitative and qualitative research on assessing the challenges of change army implementation. However, some research findings indicates that, when new scenario is introduced, the civil service effectiveness is inhibited by many administrative bureaucracies. However, leadership style and resistance to change are the major factors studied. Simple random sampling technique with stratification is employed to select 353 respondents. The researchers used a semi-structured questionnaire and focus group discussion to collect data. Data presentation, analysis and interpretation are made with the aid of descriptive statistics .the application of the change army scenario is highly inhibited by misunderstanding and poor leadership, the awareness level and perception of employees towards change army implementation is too much low. Inadequate resources, lack of motivation of leaders and employees, and lack of leadership support are most challenges during change army implementation. Therefore, the reality of the change army concepts and goals needs to be well communicated; the change army’s working manual which presents the overall job descriptions of change army team leaders and each members should be known by everyone and it must be documented, as well. Because-change army leaders and team members need to internalize the concept of the change army scenario. The knowledge gap of the change army leaders about the new scenario needs to be successfully addressed through effective training initiatives so that leaders can have exemplary leadership roles.

This book was released on 2009-09 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Diploma Thesis from the year 2007 in the subject Computer Science - Applied, grade: 1, University of Applied Sciences Technikum Vienna, course: Betriebliche Informationsnetze basierend auf SIP bzw. verwandten Protokollen wie SDP, RTP usw., language: English, abstract: Given the increasing penetration of Internet Protocol (IP) technologies and the tremendous growth in wireless data traffic, the telecom industry is evolving towards All-IP based Next Generation Networks (NGN). The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has specified an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) in 3GPP Release 5 to support converged multimedia applications across both wireless and wireline devices. IMS provides full packet call control capabilities by using the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). SIP has been chosen by 3GPP as the signaling protocol to handle user registrations and multimedia session management in the IMS. Using IP protocols defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), IMS will merge cellular networks and the internet, offering new service capabilities for rapid service creation and deployment of integrated IP multimedia applications. This diploma thesis provides an insight into the IP Multimedia Core Network, specifically focusing on its key element, the Call Session Control Function (CSCF). The CSCF serves as control point to manage all IMS sessions in the network, whether they are voice, video, data, messaging, gaming, or any other service. Moreover, this paper discusses the requirements identified by 3GPP to support SIP in cellular networks, and the extensions to the SIP protocol suite in order to fulfill them. The practical part of the thesis evaluates the Open Source IMS Core platform of the Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS with respect to the CSCF which is based on the SIP Express Router (SER). The analysis describes the new modules and advanced functions of SER, required to cope with the extended version of SIP and to act as a CSCF for IMS purposes.

Book Energy Scavenging for Wireless Sensor Networks

Download or read book Energy Scavenging for Wireless Sensor Networks written by Shad Roundy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 219 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The vast reduction in size and power consumption of CMOS circuitry has led to a large research effort based around the vision of wireless sensor networks. The proposed networks will be comprised of thousands of small wireless nodes that operate in a multi-hop fashion, replacing long transmission distances with many low power, low cost wireless devices. The result will be the creation of an intelligent environment responding to its inhabitants and ambient conditions. Wireless devices currently being designed and built for use in such environments typically run on batteries. However, as the networks increase in number and the devices decrease in size, the replacement of depleted batteries will not be practical. The cost of replacing batteries in a few devices that make up a small network about once per year is modest. However, the cost of replacing thousands of devices in a single building annually, some of which are in areas difficult to access, is simply not practical. Another approach would be to use a battery that is large enough to last the entire lifetime of the wireless sensor device. However, a battery large enough to last the lifetime of the device would dominate the overall system size and cost, and thus is not very attractive. Alternative methods of powering the devices that will make up the wireless networks are desperately needed.
