Book Space Time Consciousness Out Of Body Experiences And Creating The Future

Download or read book Space Time Consciousness Out Of Body Experiences And Creating The Future written by Treilor Banks and published by Bowker Identifier Services. This book was released on 2022-09-04 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book about Out-Of-Body Experiences, or OBEs. The book describes what causes them to occur and how they can be induced. Our sensors (eyes, ears, nose, skin, taste buds) contain us in the three-dimensional present, or space. When we are in the present, we can experience time as it flows through us but we cannot move through time like we can move through space. In order to move through time, we must shut off our sensors. Doing so frees us from the confines of space and we find ourselves in imaginary time, or the future, where OBEs occur. OBEs are called "inside events" because they don't require outside stimuli from our sensors. We have to turn off our sensors to begin an OBE and one or more of our sensors turning back on can end an OBE, but there are no sensors involved while we are having an OBE. This book is also about "outside events". Outside events allow us to create the future. Outside events are not OBEs. We begin an outside event the same way we begin an inside event OBE: by shutting off our sensors. We deposit the brainwaves of the event we want to experience by visualizing or imagining the event while we are in the future. Time only moves in one direction: from the future to the present. After we deposit the brainwaves in the future, the "time escalator" brings the event to the present where we experience it. All participants in a specific future event are able to deposit their brainwaves on the time escalator by visualizing their desired outcomes for the event. The brainwaves of the various participants who have deposited brainwaves describing their desired outcomes for the event then combine either destructively (cancel each other out) or constructively (reinforce each other). The event that finally arrives in the present will represent the combination of all the participants' brainwaves. Unlike inside events, outside events involve our sensors which we need to perceive the events when they arrive in the present from the future on the time escalator.

Book A New Kind of Science

Download or read book A New Kind of Science written by Stephen Wolfram and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 1197 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work presents a series of dramatic discoveries never before made public. Starting from a collection of simple computer experiments---illustrated in the book by striking computer graphics---Wolfram shows how their unexpected results force a whole new way of looking at the operation of our universe. Wolfram uses his approach to tackle a remarkable array of fundamental problems in science: from the origin of the Second Law of thermodynamics, to the development of complexity in biology, the computational limitations of mathematics, the possibility of a truly fundamental theory of physics, and the interplay between free will and determinism.

Book The Superluminal Universe

Download or read book The Superluminal Universe written by Régis Dutheil and published by Watkins Media Limited. This book was released on 2024-06-11 with total page 167 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: First English translation of the French cult classic L'Homme Superlumineux which offers a mind-blowing account of human consciousness and the nature of reality that will change the way readers see the world. The Superluminal Universe reveals, for the first time in English, the incredible insights of French quantum physicist Professor Régis Dutheil. Thanks to the development of particle accelerators, physicists are now able to propel particles (tachyons) at a speed close to that of light (300,000 km per second). At these extreme speeds, the laws that govern our universe no longer apply. Professor Dutheil's work has shown that the theory of relativity is not incompatible with that of tachyons, provided that we allow for the possibility of a double reality: that alongside our sub-luminous universe, which follows the law of time, is a superluminal universe. This second reality is another universe, complementary to and symmetrical with ours, governed by superluminal space-time in which light moves 300,000 km/s to infinity. In the superluminal universe, everything is instantaneous. It is possible to conceive of a superluminal being capable of moving from one end of space to the other. This parallel universe consists only of information and consciousness: all information (past, present, future) and the consciousness of all humanity. Professor Dutheil's thesis joins the intuitions of ancient philosophers with current quantum physics to blow our current notions of time, of past and present, of the nature of consciousness, of birth and death right out of the water.

Book Explorations in Consciousness

Download or read book Explorations in Consciousness written by Frederick Aardema and published by . This book was released on 2012-04 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Explorations in Consciousness, Frederick Aardema, a clinical researcher, provides a profound, in-depth account of the out-of-body experience, during which the explorer of consciousness is able to transcend the boundaries of time and space. In his quest for knowledge, the author seamlessly weaves in his own travels into different fields of consciousness. These include experiences in the personal field, where he is confronted with the constructs of his own psyche, as well as visitations to collective fields of consciousness that appear to have an independent existence beyond the eye of the beholder. Highly original and groundbreaking, Explorations in Consciousness presents a model of reality in which nothing can ever be taken for granted. It proposes that consciousness is embedded within a wider field of possibilities that become real depending on our interaction with the world around us. Regardless of what you believe about the out-of-body state, this book will challenge and excite you to become an explorer of consciousness. It provides you with all the tools you need for your own journey.

Book The Time Machine of Consciousness Quantum Physics of Mind

Download or read book The Time Machine of Consciousness Quantum Physics of Mind written by Deepak Chopra and published by Cosmology.com. This book was released on 2014-10-22 with total page 514 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does the Future Already Exist? Are the Distinctions Between the Past Present and Future Illusions as claimed by Einstein? Is it possible to travel into the future through the power of mind? Memory enables us to travel into the past, but mental time travel allows one to visit a future; a future which may already exist as predicted by Einstein's field equations: time may be a circle leading from the present to the future and then the past. Relativity also predicts that the only way to travel to the past is to first travel to the future, at which point one contracts to a size smaller than a Plank length and in so doing blowing a hole through the fabric of the space-time continuum and which may lead to a mirror universe if one dares to cross over the Einstein-Rosen bridge--and similar bridges are predicted to lead to other universes upon entering and surviving a journey through a black hole. Quantum mechanics also predicts time reversal in spaces smaller than a Plank length. Although the branch of quantum physics known as the many worlds interpretation rejects a central role for the collapse of the wave function by conscious observation and the act of measurements, the implications remain that there is no universal now and more than one past, present, or future, some more probable than others. The many worlds interpretation also resolves issues related to possible paradoxes of time travel, such as changing the past, which just becomes one past among many. As explained in this volume, Einstein s relativity not only predicts that there is no universal now but that the future and the past and the experience of time are also relative to an observer."

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book, 'Time Traveling is about Astral Projection into the past, present and future. Witnessing the truth about event, while traveling through time and space. The soul or consciousness extending far beyond the physical realm like a light beaming through the cracks, while being propelled by God into unknown adventures. Causing the soul to gather truth concerning certain events, as in the case of the holy Prophet Enoch (AS), who learned Astronomy from the Angels. During the course of Time Traveling, the soul becomes a witness to many strange things and events, unknown to the average person. The soul learns of many true facts, such as Heaven and Hell, and the questioning in the grave. Facts which are not yet proven by humans, but yet exist. These true facts are taught by Angels and those who have already pass on to the after life. Astral Projection or astral travel is an out-of-body experience called OBE. The soul or consciousness has the ability to assume the existence of an Astral or Etheric body, with only a silver cord or rope connecting it to the physical body. Thus, the soul or consciousness can travel outside the physical realm into the Astral and Celestial realms of time and space. The idea of time travel is rooted in all religions concerning the after life in which the soul is rewarded or punished for the deeds of the physical body and mind. It take a great deal of self-control, pure foods and a lot of meditation (prayer) to reach the stage of the energy frequency of light, in order for one to do such space and time travel. Often, Almighty God gifts the pure soul with a special glad tidings for their spiritual growth. God then helps the pure soul to draw closer to Him, i.e. His obedience. The successful time traveler finds much rest and peace of mind after learning these true facts, and while drawing close to the Divine Love of God (Qur'an 89:27-30). It at this point that God sends Angels to bring that soul of peace the Glad-Tidings that God is pleased with it. That is truly something to aspire for.

Book The Mysteries of Consciousness

Download or read book The Mysteries of Consciousness written by Ingrid Fredriksson and published by McFarland. This book was released on 2015-10-09 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For hundreds of years the Western world has believed that humans--indeed all living things--consist of more than pure biology. Not mere physical bodies, humans possess something else that helps to define them. In this collection of new essays scientists, psychologists, theoretical physicists and other experts in the mind-body connection explore the nature of consciousness and its future as a new paradigm in science. With contributions covering near death experiences, the concept of "free will," conscious spacetime, DNA consciousness, the role of consciousness in the evolution of life, quantum theory and the non-local universe, the scientific basis of love, and the principles and applications of self-hypnosis, this volume clarifies the meaning of consciousness and establishes a model for further exploration into a burgeoning realm of scientific study.

Book Time Shifts

    Book Details:
  • Author : Von Braschler
  • Publisher : Simon and Schuster
  • Release : 2021-03-30
  • ISBN : 164411240X
  • Pages : 192 pages

Download or read book Time Shifts written by Von Braschler and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2021-03-30 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: • Shares detailed accounts from people who have experienced time slips, including the author’s own experiences, as well as the practices of shamans, yoga masters, and Samadhi mystics who use trance-like meditative states to travel outside normal space and time • Offers step-by-step exercises to prepare you to experience time shifts, to help set them up, and to enhance the experience when you have slipped through time • Examines criticisms of and scientific support for this phenomenon, debunking claims that time slips are delusions or remembrances of past lives and showing that they may be related to energy vortices, black holes, or astral travel Every now and then somebody reports stepping out of normal time and space. It doesn’t seem to matter where they live or their background--the veil of ordinary reality drops and they suddenly slip into the past or future, usually seamlessly and unknowingly, experiencing a temporary and accidental form of time travel. Sharing detailed accounts from people who have experienced time slips and shifts between realities, including his own experiences, Von Braschler examines what their stories have in common to establish the pattern behind how these sudden slips in time occur. He examines criticisms of and scientific support for this phenomenon, debunking claims that time slips are delusions, implanted memories, or remembrances of past lives and showing that they may be related to energy vortices, tears in the fabric of our reality, black holes, astral travel, or light body movements. Studying reliable models from both the West and the East, he compares these excursions with shamanic journeying and the practices of yoga masters and Samadhi mystics, who use trance-like meditative states to travel outside normal space and time. Exploring the work of Einstein and other physicists, the author also examines the different speed with which time passes in ordinary reality and during time shifts--people will find that only a few minutes has elapsed for a time-shift experience that appeared to take hours. Offering step-by-step exercises to prepare you to experience time shifts, to help set them up, and to enhance the experience when you have slipped through time, the author provides a road map allowing anyone to explore shifts in time and space and expand their awareness beyond ordinary reality.

Book The Phenomenology of Internal Time Consciousness

Download or read book The Phenomenology of Internal Time Consciousness written by Edmund Husserl and published by Indiana University Press. This book was released on 2019-04-29 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Phenomenology of Internal Time-Consciousness is a translation of Edmund Husserl’s Vorlesungen zur Phänomenologie des inneren Zeitbewußtseins. The first part of the book was originally presented as a lecture course at the University of Göttingen in the winter semester of 1904–1905, while the second part is based on additional supplementary lectures that he gave between 1905 and 1910. In these essays and lectures, Husserl explores the terrain of consciousness in light of its temporality. He identifies two categories of temporality—retention and protention—and outlines how temporality provides the form for perception, phantasy, imagination, memory, and recollection. He demonstrates a distinction between cosmic and phenomenological time and explores the relevance of phenomenological time for the constitution of temporal objects. The ideas Husserl developed here are explored further in his Ideas and were pursued until the end of his philosophical career.

Book Altered States of Consciousness

Download or read book Altered States of Consciousness written by Marc Wittmann and published by MIT Press. This book was released on 2023-11-07 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What altered states of consciousness—the dissolution of feelings of time and self—can tell us about the mystery of consciousness. During extraordinary moments of consciousness—shock, meditative states and sudden mystical revelations, out-of-body experiences, or drug intoxication—our senses of time and self are altered; we may even feel time and self dissolving. These experiences have long been ignored by mainstream science, or considered crazy fantasies. Recent research, however, has located the neural underpinnings of these altered states of mind. In this book, neuropsychologist Marc Wittmann shows how experiences that disturb or widen our everyday understanding of the self can help solve the mystery of consciousness. Wittmann explains that the relationship between consciousness of time and consciousness of self is close; in extreme circumstances, the experiences of space and self intensify and weaken together. He considers the emergence of the self in waking life and dreams; how our sense of time is distorted by extreme situations ranging from terror to mystical enlightenment; the experience of the moment; and the loss of time and self in such disorders as depression, schizophrenia, and epilepsy. Dostoyevsky reported godly bliss during epileptic seizures; neurologists are now investigating the phenomenon of the epileptic aura. Wittmann describes new studies of psychedelics that show how the brain builds consciousness of self and time, and discusses pilot programs that use hallucinogens to treat severe depression, anxiety, and addiction. If we want to understand our consciousness, our subjectivity, Wittmann argues, we must not be afraid to break new ground. Studying altered states of consciousness leads us directly to the heart of the matter: time and self, the foundations of consciousness.

Book Waking Dreaming Being

  • Pages : 497 pages

Download or read book Waking Dreaming Being written by Evan Thompson and published by Columbia University Press. This book was released on 2014-11-18 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A renowned philosopher of the mind, also known for his groundbreaking work on Buddhism and cognitive science, Evan Thompson combines the latest neuroscience research on sleep, dreaming, and meditation with Indian and Western philosophy of mind, casting new light on the self and its relation to the brain. Thompson shows how the self is a changing process, not a static thing. When we are awake we identify with our body, but if we let our mind wander or daydream, we project a mentally imagined self into the remembered past or anticipated future. As we fall asleep, the impression of being a bounded self distinct from the world dissolves, but the self reappears in the dream state. If we have a lucid dream, we no longer identify only with the self within the dream. Our sense of self now includes our dreaming self, the "I" as dreamer. Finally, as we meditate—either in the waking state or in a lucid dream—we can observe whatever images or thoughts arise and how we tend to identify with them as "me." We can also experience sheer awareness itself, distinct from the changing contents that make up our image of the self. Contemplative traditions say that we can learn to let go of the self, so that when we die we can witness its dissolution with equanimity. Thompson weaves together neuroscience, philosophy, and personal narrative to depict these transformations, adding uncommon depth to life's profound questions. Contemplative experience comes to illuminate scientific findings, and scientific evidence enriches the vast knowledge acquired by contemplatives.

Book The End of Time

    Book Details:
  • Author : Julian Barbour
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2001-11-29
  • ISBN : 0199760896
  • Pages : 385 pages

Download or read book The End of Time written by Julian Barbour and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2001-11-29 with total page 385 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Richard Feynman once quipped that "Time is what happens when nothing else does." But Julian Barbour disagrees: if nothing happened, if nothing changed, then time would stop. For time is nothing but change. It is change that we perceive occurring all around us, not time. Put simply, time does not exist. In this highly provocative volume, Barbour presents the basic evidence for a timeless universe, and shows why we still experience the world as intensely temporal. It is a book that strikes at the heart of modern physics. It casts doubt on Einstein's greatest contribution, the spacetime continuum, but also points to the solution of one of the great paradoxes of modern science, the chasm between classical and quantum physics. Indeed, Barbour argues that the holy grail of physicists--the unification of Einstein's general relativity with quantum mechanics--may well spell the end of time. Barbour writes with remarkable clarity as he ranges from the ancient philosophers Heraclitus and Parmenides, through the giants of science Galileo, Newton, and Einstein, to the work of the contemporary physicists John Wheeler, Roger Penrose, and Steven Hawking. Along the way he treats us to enticing glimpses of some of the mysteries of the universe, and presents intriguing ideas about multiple worlds, time travel, immortality, and, above all, the illusion of motion. The End of Time is a vibrantly written and revolutionary book. It turns our understanding of reality inside-out.

Book Seeing Myself

Download or read book Seeing Myself written by Susan Blackmore and published by Robinson. This book was released on 2019-06-11 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essential reading for anyone seeking to understand their own mind and to find a spiritual path that is compatible with science As an impressionable young student, Susan Blackmore had an intense, dramatic and life-changing experience, seeming to leave her body and travel the world. With no rational explanation for her out-of-body experience (OBE) she turned to astral projection and the paranormal, but soon despaired of finding answers. Decades later, a Swiss neurosurgeon accidentally discovered the spot in the brain that can induce OBEs and everything changed; this crucial spot is part of the brain's self-system and when disturbed so is our experience of self. Blackmore leaped back into OBE research and at last began to unravel what had happened to her. Seeing Myself describes her long quest for answers through spirituality, religion, drugs, meditation, philosophy and neuroscience. Anyone can have an OBE, indeed 15 per cent of us have. Even more have experienced sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming and the creepy sense of an invisible presence. At last, with the advent of brain stimulation, fMRI scanning and virtual reality, all these phenomena are beginning to make sense. Long relegated to the very fringes of research, the new science of out-of-body experiences is now contributing to our understanding of consciousness and our very selves.

Book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind

Download or read book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind written by Julian Jaynes and published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. This book was released on 2000-08-15 with total page 580 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: National Book Award Finalist: “This man’s ideas may be the most influential, not to say controversial, of the second half of the twentieth century.”—Columbus Dispatch At the heart of this classic, seminal book is Julian Jaynes's still-controversial thesis that human consciousness did not begin far back in animal evolution but instead is a learned process that came about only three thousand years ago and is still developing. The implications of this revolutionary scientific paradigm extend into virtually every aspect of our psychology, our history and culture, our religion—and indeed our future. “Don’t be put off by the academic title of Julian Jaynes’s The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. Its prose is always lucid and often lyrical…he unfolds his case with the utmost intellectual rigor.”—The New York Times “When Julian Jaynes . . . speculates that until late in the twentieth millennium BC men had no consciousness but were automatically obeying the voices of the gods, we are astounded but compelled to follow this remarkable thesis.”—John Updike, The New Yorker “He is as startling as Freud was in The Interpretation of Dreams, and Jaynes is equally as adept at forcing a new view of known human behavior.”—American Journal of Psychiatry
