Book The Farmer Ways of Sowing

Download or read book The Farmer Ways of Sowing written by Connie M. Brown and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-07-29 with total page 121 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Be like the farmers and sow for a change in your life circumstances. In due season you will reap your harvest, it's time to grow in GRACE, you have been in kindergarten for too many years. God has blessed you to care for children but yet you are still acting as a child when it comes to honoring GOD. Grow up and honor GOD! Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure press down, shaken together and running over. Stop! Stop looking at your pastor as getting your money it's a seed that you sow to honor GOD. It didn't matter much where you sow your money when you didn't know any better. You've tried everything and anything that came with a convincing line telling you to sow your money into this are that and you will win more. The instruction didn't come with a defi nite fact that you are going to win; it guarantees a chance. That's man traditional way of sowing and believing. God's way for sowing is throughout the Bible. GOD's promises are: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding, God will direct your path. With a path like this any person seeking for new direction can't go wrong, with trusting GOD. Get the rope from around your neck; during slavery days, people didn't have a choice when the rope was place around their neck. They were tied down like cattle, bound and sail to sea, for some; they hung from a tree. Today, you have a choice. Farmer's believe in the process of a seed sown. A farmer can have only one seed; plant the seed and simultaneously have faith that the one seed will reproduce after its own kind. We should have faith like a farmer. If we can just believe that seeds reproduce after its own kind, and believe as the farmer believes; our circumstances will change while going through the process. Are you planting seeds?

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sowing Promises is a family saga, set on a farm. This is a heart-warming tale of romance and family life, surrounded by the tensions and pressures of raising beef cattle in an ever reducing market. Whilst members of the family might disagree, the bonds of love holding them together, and some well placed humour, enables them to support each other through all that life throws at them. Susan and Tom continue to work the farm, raising beef cattle amidst mud and beauty and juggling budgets. They have raised their four adult sons to be strong-minded, independent young men - but Susan realises that this means some of their life choices will differ from her own. She discovers that being a parent never ends - and being a grandparent involves another steep learning curve, full of joy and niggles and unspoken opinions. When her church decides to have a debate that threatens one of her sons, the whole family rallies to support her. Dot continues to be part of family life, offering her help and views and watching her grandsons develop into adults. But then something shatters her world, and she is unsure if anything will ever be the same again. While Jack and Josie's relationship continues, they struggle to save their farm from bankruptcy - but at what cost? Can their fledgling relationship survive the tensions of money worries and insecurity? Then Edward returns, and old attractions begin to undermine the foundations before they have been established. Sowing Promises will entangle your emotions, and make you laugh and cry as the characters live out their lives in step with the rhythm of the farm.

Book Practicing the Promise

    Book Details:

Download or read book Practicing the Promise written by Bruce L. Taylor and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2024-03-13 with total page 229 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Scripture readings for Year C of the Common Lectionary (Revised) pair the Gospel of Luke, rich in its unique stories surrounding Jesus’ birth, Jesus’ care for the marginalized, and parables at once beloved and profound, with Old Testament and epistolary testimony to life-imparting faith in God’s promises. Bruce Taylor’s homiletical proclamation through the first half of Year C expounds the gospel’s summons to live today in hopeful reliance upon all that God has pledged to those who trust the Bible’s testimony to God’s faithfulness. Like his previous collections of sermons for the Sundays and feast days of the Christian year, the penultimate volume in this veteran preacher’s second journey through the lectionary is theologically rich, sacramentally oriented, and ecumenically sensitive, celebrating the church’s unity and community as witness to Christ’s living presence in the world. The sermons, including representative story sermons, speak as powerfully to clergy as to laity, to seminarians as to parishioners, evoking ardent commitment and lives characterized by gratitude, grace, hospitality, humility, and love. This book will be a welcome addition on the bookshelf or, better, on the desk and nightstand.
