Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovation-making is a classic theme in anthropology that reveals how people fine-tune their ontologies, live in the world and conceive of it as they do. This ethnographic study is an entrance into the world of Buryat Mongol divination, where a group of cursed shamans undertake the 'race against time' to produce innovative remedies that will improve their fallen fortunes at an unconventional pace. Drawing on parallels between social anthropology and chaos theory, the author gives an in-depth account of how Buryat shamans and their notion of fortune operate as 'strange attractors' who propagate the ongoing process of innovation-making. With its view into this long-term 'cursing war' between two shamanic factions in a rural Mongolian district, and the comparative findings on cursing in rural China, this book is a needed resource for anyone with an interest in the anthropology of religion, shamanism, witchcraft and genealogical change. Katherine Swancutt is a Research Fellow in Social Anthropology at the University of Oxford. She has carried out fieldwork on shamanic religion across Inner Asia, working among Buryats in northeast Mongolia and China since 1999, and among the Nuosu of Southwest China since 2007.

Book The Hijacked Mind There is a major war for the human soul

Download or read book The Hijacked Mind There is a major war for the human soul written by Matthew Simmons and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2022-11-14 with total page 278 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: THE WORLD IS HIJACKED, AND MANY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST ARE HIJACKED! We are in a very real war, a war between Jesus Christ and the anti-Christ, a war between the flesh and the Spirit. Look at this supernatural war: People have been scarred by Satan, serial deception, and the surgeons of sin. People are mingled in lifestyles of pantheism, paganism, an exploding satanism, black cat-smooching, crystal-rubbing, and chicken bone-massaging witchcraft, transgenderism, serial fornication, homosexuality, and public schools teach the gender-confusion curriculum. People are involved in corruption in the government that defies description, state-supported and recreational murder (abortion), back-handed and pistol-whipped addictions, and perpetual, pathological hatred and racism. Law, philosophy, poetry, positive thinking, and psychology cannot change you! Shelley, Keats, Bryon, and Shakespeare cannot change you! You cannot legislate morality, immorality, and virtue. Law will not stop murder, adultery, stealing, rape, child sex trafficking, and government corruption (the least government is the best government), but Christ can do that! Jesus is the answer! The only solution is a blood transfusion from the veins of the Lamb of God. This book retards the deliverance ministry, which is the “sneeze,” “cough,” and “vomit” movement. People are conjuring up, coughing up, and vomiting up Charismatic spirits and looking like utter fools, satanically manifesting like godless pagans, sacrificing themselves to totem poles, a vomiting and manifesting machine—the Manifesting Ministry Movement. The Hijacked Mind retards the hyper-grace movement. If you teach a grace that forgives sin but does not produce repentance, you are preaching from satanic literature. Grace, without repentance, is paganism. The love of God without the wrath of God is Satan’s theology. Love without law produces a secular humanist, and law without love produces a Pharisee. The Hijacked Mind retards atheism. Atheists are mastered by primates, and neo-pagans and environmentalists are anointed by birds, bugs, and bureaucrats. The Hijacked Mind shares the truth of Christ and the absolute existence of Christ. This book shares the biblical truths about heaven and hell, and if you do not believe in heaven or hell, that is because you worship your own back-porch philosophy and think your intellect supersedes the knowledge of God and the truth—this is ignorance on a rampage.

Book A New Perspective of Genesis

Download or read book A New Perspective of Genesis written by Bishop Donald L. Thomas and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2017-06-15 with total page 259 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In writing this commentary, my goal was to make simple those things that were hidden so that those who read the book of Genesis could comprehend what they read. I pray that all who do read my book will be blessed and enlightened and that the books contents may serve as a basic learning guide. This commentary is for the purpose of causing the children of God to study his Word in the manner in which it was intended. We cannot receive the nourishment needed for our spiritual being without understanding what we are reading. It is not the intent of the Holy Spirit to paint a picture of the men and women of the Bible that escalates out of our reach but to create hope in the least of us as we read about their defeats and victories, of their sicknesses and healings, of their faith and fear, of their sin and righteousness, and of their joy and sorrow. Things that were written were written for our learning, but many of us have not learned the scriptures in the light of what they are declaring. Consequently, instead of finding the hope that the scriptures were written for, many become discouraged because their focus is on the victories without understanding the struggles. These men and women were the same as we are. They were not supernatural beings, though many had supernatural encounters. At any rate, there is not one of Gods children who have been truly born again who have not had a supernatural encounter. When the Holy Spirit invaded your life, there was nothing natural about that. When you were transformed from darkness to light, there was nothing natural about that. When the blood of Jesus cleansed you from all of your sins, there was nothing natural about that. When you were transformed by the renewing of your mind, there was nothing natural about that. When heaven rejoiced in the news of your repentance, there was nothing natural about that. But if our focus is not right, we will embrace the wrong thing. We will cleave to the experience rather than the Creator of all things. May God grant unto us all the ability to see the scriptures in the context that they were intended.

Book With the Holy Spirit

Download or read book With the Holy Spirit written by Daniel Igwe and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2017-08-24 with total page 189 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Youre Never Alone! God is a revelation and Christianity is a relationship built on that. God who is a relationship being created humans to be in an eternal relationship with Him. Man is a spirit, has a soul and lives in a body. The true measure of spirituality is the ability to relate with God personally. When we cooperate with the Holy Spirit, He will lead us to the multi-dimensional knowledge of Gods secrets and mysteries. For us to cooperate with Him, we must know who He is and develop consciousness of His presence. There is limited understanding of His personality. When we mention the Holy Spirit, what comes to the mind of most people is a dove, fire, wind, force, power, a form or figure. Some Christian folks are quick to say that He is easily grieved and this is the main reason so many are afraid of relating with Him. The Holy Spirit do not have anger issues neither is He a fault finder; instead He is full of compassion, slow to anger and of great mercy. The Holy Spirit is in love with us and always seeks for our good. This inspiring and life transforming book will help you understand the person of the Holy Spirit and how to cooperate or partner with Him. Daniels uplifting message through this book focuses on: Salvation through faith in Jesus as the only way to belonging to God The personality of the Holy Spirit The manifestations of the Holy Spirit. The pursuit of the presence of God The Holy Spirit as Jesus unlimited Getting dressed with God in preparation for eternity Jesus promised to be with us till the end of the age and because of this, He sent us a wonderful person called the Holy Spirit who knows everything about us. Daniel inspires and encourages with this message the need for a supernatural cooperation with the Holy Spirit for a successful Christian experience.

Book The Holy Spirit Will Deliver You

Download or read book The Holy Spirit Will Deliver You written by Patricia L. Loranger and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2018-06-15 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Does it seem you just cannot win the battle over the devil? Are you battling the temptation to sin or hiding secret sins from your church and family? Do you find it difficult to participate in church groups or struggle to pray and read the Bible? When we think of deliverance, we think of salvation, but this is only the first step. Deliverance is receiving freedom, and many Christians need freedom from their loaded baggage of sin. We say the sinner’s prayer and we think that’s it—we’ve got our deliverance. But this is just the beginning. Some Christians struggle their whole lives with temptation; they need deliverance, and there are so few deliverance ministries out there. The Holy Spirit Will Deliver You offers hope and guidance toward relief and redemption. With the aid of the Holy Spirit, author Patricia L. Loranger undertook two lengthily spiritual deliverances, in which she cast a large number of evil spirits out of herself. She knows that through the aid of God’s Spirit that dwells within, all believers can set themselves free from the chains that bind them. Based on one woman’s personal experiences and grounded in scripture, this guide provides Christians seeking deliverance with answers and steps to take toward their ultimate freedom.

Book God s Intelligent Design for Christ Centered Spiritual Transformation

Download or read book God s Intelligent Design for Christ Centered Spiritual Transformation written by Eric vonAnderseck and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2016-11-03 with total page 168 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When the Holy Spirit directed me to write this thesis it was after God had implemented the changes and corrections for the church and believers began to benefit fully from the transition. I hope you will be blessed by the many wonderful testimonies throughout. The apostolic thesis is the first of its kind. Not only does the Holy Spirit explain faith crisis and spiritual exploitation, but also uncovers the underlying root causes. God is addressing a faith in crisis, a spiritual government in crisis, and belief systems that He did not authorize or sanctify in the name of Jesus Christ. The church had suffered under the hands of many spiritual butchers, slicing and dicing faith this way and that. Each area of spiritual exploitation has had a catastrophic and blinding influence on all facets of Christian life. Believers were led into a very confusing era. Ministers were constantly rehashing faith programs as they sorted out their own failings, reducing covenant to a psychology. Ideas were tabled as quickly as they were introduced. Thankfully, the church has now entered into a new apostolic era. God has restored His true culture of faith and heritage to the church, helping believers understand once again the apostolic authority, calling, and anointing.

This book was released on 1998 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Lewis (English, Bethany College) studies Browning's religion as poetry and her poetry as religion, interpreting her literary life as an arduous spiritual quest. Using insights from contemporary feminist thought, she argues that Browning's religious assumptions and insights range from the conventional to the iconoclastic and that her political and social ideology are consistent in light of her spiritual quest. Draws on Browning's most admired poetry as well as her early poems and her political works, and compares her ideology to that of early feminists, conservatives, and male Victorian poets.
