Book excerpt: What is the likelihood of being told “God sees you” in comparison to “God smells you”? However, the smell of a Christian’s life is just as potent as behavior and appearance, which is relative to a soothing aroma. Soothing Aroma is a term used in the New American Standard Bible in correlation to the phrase sweet savior in the King James version. It examines scriptural text about offerings that smelled-pleasing to the Lord. It is a theological thought with a prophetic sound into the disposition of the sacrificial system concerning burnt offerings. The general intent of a soothing aroma was to appease God. The type of sacrifice God deems valuable and costly is us—His people—as living sacrifices. A live sacrifice rather than a dead one infuses the fragrance of Christ. That is the soothing aroma that is pleasing to God. Jesus is a true example to His followers of what classifies and extols authentic worship to God: a valuable and costly sacrifice. Christians give off the aroma of Christ as they surrender their lives to Christ as living sacrifices.

Download or read book Aromatree written by Salvatore Battaglia and published by Black Pepper Creative. This book was released on 2019-09-04 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Aromatherapy is one of the most popular forms of natural therapies available to us. What makes essential oils so exciting is that they are the only ‘plant-based remedies’ that work on all levels of our wellbeing — our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing. As an aromatherapy educator, I often notice how frustrated people become when they have to learn the individual properties and actions of essential oils. The aromatree identifies the relationships that exist between the individual essential oils and the different parts of a plant such as leaves, roots, resin, wood, fruits, seed or flowers. In Aromatree, we examine the relationship and pattern between the botany of the plant, traditional folklore, symbolism, mythology of plants, aroma, chemistry, pharmacology, essential oil safety, our psyche, our personality, the chakras, the energetics according to traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda, and blending tips. Aromatree embraces all aspects of aromatherapy. Whether you are a beginner or a professional aromatherapist, you will gain an incredible insight into using essential oils.

Book The Aroma of Righteousness

Download or read book The Aroma of Righteousness written by Deborah A. Green and published by Penn State Press. This book was released on 2011-03-29 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The Aroma of Righteousness, Deborah Green explores images of perfume and incense in late Roman and early Byzantine Jewish literature. Using literary methods to illuminate the rabbinic literature, Green demonstrates the ways in which the rabbis’ reading of biblical texts and their intimate experience with aromatics build and deepen their interpretations. The study uncovers the cultural associations that are evoked by perfume and incense in both the Hebrew Bible and midrashic texts and seeks to understand the cultural, theological, and experiential motivations and impulses that lie behind these interpretations. Green accomplishes this by examining the relationship between the textual traditions of the Hebrew Bible and Midrash, the surviving evidence from the material culture of Palestine in the late Roman and early Byzantine periods, and cultural evidence as described by the rabbis and other Roman authors.
