Book excerpt: --Second Edition-- Six weeks into a blissful honeymoon, life turns into a nightmare when Susan's 9-year-old daughter is taken away and her husband is falsely accused of molestation. Dragged under the churning wheels of the child protection system, Susan is given a choice--either cooperate in prosecuting her innocent husband or lose her daughter. When the couple doesn't cave to pressure, Susan loses custody, and her husband is charged with a felony that carries a 16-year prison sentence. No one wants to hear the facts. No one wants to know the truth. It's the 1980s--a decade of unfounded abuse accusations, hysterical claims of orgies at daycare centers, families controlled by courts, and an abusive child protection system that had become the very thing it was created to eradicate. "We are not to simply bandage the wounds of victims beneath the wheels of injustice, we are to drive a spoke into the wheel itself." ― Dietrich Bonhoeffer Wheels of Injustice is a curtains-pulled-back, true account of the 1980s out-of-control child protection system and the victims who risked everything to expose the egregious injustices and reform it. It's a tribute to God's faithfulness and a message of hope to others who have struggled to overcome adversity, fight injustice, or turn an upended life the right way around again. Praise for Wheels of Injustice-- "I could not put this book down! This is a heart-breaking, captivating multi-layered insight into the life of a truly extraordinary individual. A brilliantly written book that interweaves the journey of discovery and adventure of childhood into the adult world. Susan Gabriel is fearless in her account of the horror and devastation caused by the clumsy overreach of bureaucracy into our lives and their ability to plunge them into a living hell. This heroic account is a memoir for generations to refer to and a foundation stone for us all to stand on to see the goodness of a Creator whose faithful heart is always for his children to prevail in times of absolute adversity." --Michael Rowell, author of Leadership Upgrade "Not only was I captivated by Susan's story, but I was also compelled and very attentive to her writing style. Although I have not personally experienced the horrors this book describes, as a fellow INFJ, I was soooo able to relate to the author from a personality stand-point. And yes, even in her writing style. She writes like a true INFJ... I broke when the author wrote, 'I discovered--through experiencing it first-hand--the gift of God's grace and forgiveness.' "I believe that God's grace is best understood through experience. Head knowledge is a start, but receiving revelation at the heart level is what transcends one's relationship with Jesus. I am so thankful God led me to read this book at this point in time. It was no accident or coincidence. I enjoyed every minute and am feeling so encouraged. My prayer is that God continues to bless and keep the author and her family. And that this book gets into the hands of people who need a revelation of God's grace and faithfulness." -- Amazon Reader

Download or read book Polishing Gems written by Joel Emerson and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 848 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible is like a jewelry box holding treasures of immeasurable value. For instance, John 3:16 can be compared to the hope diamond. It surpasses all others. Genealogy listings of who begat whom could be compared to mere gravel. Though maybe not life-changing, it serves its purpose. We cannot improve on GodaEUR(tm)s Word (it is what it is), but God has called us to be laborers together with Him (1 Corinthians 3:9). Just like a priceless diamond simply looks like a rock until it is shaped and put in the proper light, His Word is almost always hidden until the Holy Spirit reveals its worth, and sometimes another person can share its impact on their lives or even a looked over by most observation that puts it in a different light. Example, the shortest verse is John 11:35: aEURoeJesus wept.aEUR My take is that He had to bring Lazarus back. IaEUR(tm)ve seen many people surprised by this. A sermon is for the purpose of putting a shine on scripture, bringing out the beauty, revealing the intent of the message, making it understandable. This collection of poetry is basically quick-read minisermons given to the author by the Holy Spirit. Tertius was a scribe who wrote the Book of Romans while Paul dictated. The authoraEUR(tm)s education in poetry has only come from bathroom walls and Dr. Seuss. He credits God with its entire content. The style is down-to-earth, but its message is out of this world. It is his hope that believers will gain a closer relationship with God and unbelievers will begin a journey that leaves behind all the hopelessness, misery, darkness, and suffering of the soul that accompanies life apart from God (that he has experienced firsthand) and begin a joyous walk with Jesus toward the Promised Land. He hopes it entertains you and prays that it changes you for the better.

Book excerpt: Author of Reese's Book Club YA Pick The Light in Hidden Places, Sharon Cameron, delivers an emotionally gripping and utterly immersive thriller, perfect for fans of Ruta Sepetys's Salt to the Sea. In 1946, Eva leaves behind the rubble of Berlin for the streets of New York City, stepping from the fiery aftermath of one war into another, far colder one, where power is more important than principles, and lies are more plentiful than the truth. Eva holds the key to a deadly secret: Project Bluebird -- a horrific experiment of the concentration camps, capable of tipping the balance of world power. Both the Americans and the Soviets want Bluebird, and it is something that neither should ever be allowed to possess. But Eva hasn't come to America for secrets or power. She hasn't even come for a new life. She has come to America for one thing: justice. And the Nazi that has escaped its net. Critically acclaimed author of The Light in Hidden Places Sharon Cameron weaves a taut and affecting thriller ripe with intrigue and romance in this alternately chilling and poignant portrait of the personal betrayals, terrifying injustices, and deadly secrets that seethe beneath the surface in the aftermath of World War II.

Book One Focus Father Son Holy Spirit Sovereign Savior Lord

Download or read book One Focus Father Son Holy Spirit Sovereign Savior Lord written by Jeffrey E. Pollock and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-05-21 with total page 411 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One Focus Christian Poetry is inspired by the Word of God and shared to glorify God in His Son Jesus. In this sin-sick fallen world the Lord Jesus Christ taught His disciples that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6), the only hope to reach His Father in Heaven. ABOVE ALL a sovereign HOLY GOD oversees and directs; every people group and every nation is under His supreme authority. The prophet Isaiah of Old put it this way: “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways... As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it flourish... so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My word that goes out from My mouth. It will not return to Me [unfulfilled]." See Isaiah 55:9,10 & 11 When God said, “Let there be light," there was light! See Genesis 1:3 Without the holy light of truth humanity remains in darkness, BUT GOD our Father made it possible in His Son for all His children to see, believe, and be saved. The Word of God is LIGHT! Light reveals what is hidden in darkness and enables right vision, and knowledge of His perfect will. In the New, the Holy Spirit expounds on the Light of Jesus through John the Apostle: “The Word gave life to everything created, and His life brought light to everyone. Light shines in the dark and the darkness cannot stop it.” See John 1:1 thru 5 May these poems encourage you to look to Jesus for eternal truth as you walk in the light as He is in the light. See 1 John 1:7 Hope you will enjoy!!!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Heavenly Son Shine by “The Poet” Thomas Kruger In February 1937, “The Poet” Thomas Kruger was born in the little town of Pierceton, Indiana. He grew up and currently lives on the east side of Webster Lake. He loves to hunt, trap, and fish. His greatest passion was fly fishing and he and his family (wife and five girls) lived pretty much off the land. He enjoys being outdoors and loves to take his grandchildren camping and fishing. In February 1977, at forty years old, Kruger came to know the Lord and, immediately, the Lord gave him the gift of verse to share the word of God in poetry. On October 5th, 2015, he was in a motorcycle accident that injured him. While in the nursing home for rehab, he wrote many more poems and, of this writing, he has written 1300 poems and is still going strong. He is currently doing much better. Thus far, Kruger has had six books published and this book, Heavenly Son Shine, will be his seventh. Three of those seven were published by RoseDog Books and Kruger calls them “great people to work with.” He has also written another book to be published by RoseDog Books entitled White Eagle. It was written in 1985 and never published until now. It is an adventure of a ten-year-old boy who became a mountain man.
