Download or read book God Technology and the Christian Life written by Tony Reinke and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2021-12-09 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What Does God Think about Technology? From smartphones to self-driving cars to space travel, new technologies can inspire us. But the breakneck pace of change can also frighten us. So how do Christians walk by faith through the innovations of Silicon Valley? And how does God relate to our most powerful innovators? To build a biblical theology of technology, journalist and tech optimist Tony Reinke examines nine key texts from Scripture to show how the world's discoveries are divinely orchestrated. Ultimately, what we believe about God determines how we respond to human invention. With the help of several theologians and inventors throughout history, Reinke dispels twelve common myths in the church and offers fourteen ethical convictions to help Christians live by faith in the age of big tech. Biblical, Informed Look at Technology: Written by the author of 12 Ways Your Phone Is Changing You and Competing Spectacles: Treasuring Christ in the Media Age Gathers Ideas from Industry Experts and Theologians: Interacts with Christian and non-Christian sources on technology and theology including John Calvin, Herman Bavinck, Wendell Berry, and Elon Musk Educational: Discusses the history and philosophy behind major technological innovations

Download or read book Faith Hope and Joy written by Margaret Pogin and published by Covenant Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2023-02-13 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When life blows up in your face like a bomb or when you are blindsided by unforeseen circumstances, you need to know God has not forgotten or abandoned you. When you are weary and want to quit fighting against the enemy of your soul, you need to know God is still with you, directing the fight! Whatever difficult circumstances you are facing, God loves you so much He has graciously provided you weapons on your belt of truth, the armor of God. Margaret Pogin explains what some these weapons are and how to use them through Scripture. She encourages you to continue fighting for the kingdom of God to manifest more thoroughly in your life here on earth. She gives real-life examples of the principles she outlines in each chapter from her own walk with God. This book was birthed out of Margaret's experiences while she and her husband were preaching to the persecuted church in a nation hostile to Christianity. God's deep desire to encourage His people to keep going and growing gave her a burden to share the lessons learned in her trials of life. God reminded her through Scriptures we have many weapons to fight the enemy of our souls and call on the army of God for protection. These weapons prove how much God loves us. These weapons guarantee a proper defense to continue to have faith, hope, and joy no matter our circumstances. Whether fighting for yourself, your family, church, city, country, business, or the kingdom of God, Margaret's message is meant to encourage those who are discouraged in the fight. If we do not quit, we ultimately win over Satan. That is written in the Word.

Book The Joy of the Lord is My Strength

Download or read book The Joy of the Lord is My Strength written by Michael Soppeland and published by Christian Faith Publishing, Inc.. This book was released on 2018-04-09 with total page 60 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Music has been called the universal language. I have found very few people who do not like some genres of it. It touches all of us. The appeal of music is that the human person is affected by the ideas it promotes and the emotions it evokes. Words like rhythm, melody, harmony, and color are all included in the art of music. I have used music to introduce each chapter as I write my thoughts about life and all that it means. This book is my own description of peace, love, hope, and joy. As a Christian, I am influenced by God, Scripture, and my hope that all people would come to love and know God through the person of his son, Jesus, the Christ. When the Israelites were bringing the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, "King David commanded the chiefs of the Levites to appoint their brethren as the singers who should play loudly on musical instruments, on harps and lyres and cymbals, to raise sounds of joy" (1 Chronicles 15:16 RSV). And through the challenges of life, that is why I claim Nehemiah 8:10 as the title of this work: The Joy of the Lord Is My Strength.
